Nah, I like JJK but Frieren is a modern masterpiece. Story, Character, World Building, Background, Music Score, generally everything. Been watching anime, anime live actions, k drama, thai drama, chinese drama etc for more than 10 years now but I would definitely say that Frieren is really a rare invaluable gem that many people will just pass by only because they do not know its worth.

@@NiFinance but you do gotta agree after labotomy kaisen and gege basically killing every fan favourite character cause he/she is unhinged like that the jjk fan base really needed something wholesome to keep their sanity, frieren was at the right place at the right time. Well mashle and that dnd anime about eating weird stuff too ig. Frieren is great and is a gem in this 2020 era but a very short time frame and there are lots of gem out there much brighter but nowhere near was as popular as frieren.

​@@emonkhan1443 I beg to disagree. I will talk first as a novel critic before books are given a green light to be published. On a technical standpoint, many "fan favorites" in JJK do not have solid foundation background for us to weep for them. Many anime use this so dramatic delivery that make fans think that they really like the character during their death scene but it was actually the other way around. You suddenly love the character because you'll gonna miss them and won't be able to see them in the next episode. Then, you'll gonna look into this tiny bit of crumbs the author left for you on why you suddenly love the characters. I have already prove this to my friends who are JJK fans who even bought tshirts and acrylic stands. They said they cried when Mechamaru/Kokichi died and Miwa was on the train, but when I asked them why and for what reason? They can't even tell me the vast background and their relation to Kokichi and Miwa. They was like "Oh, why the hell did I cry?" and it was also true with Frieren's episode 1 during Himmel's death and Frieren's cry. This is what we critics called Emotional Manipulation. Readers/Viewers are emotionally blindsided by their emotions due to extreme circumstances when they cannot even fully grasp why they feel that emotion. What's good with Frieren though, is as episodes are released, you will fell in love with the characters more and will understand why the F did I cry during the First episode. Well, that's the real theme of Frieren.

@@emonkhan1443 On a personal standpoint, I am watching a vast spectrum of Anime genre so I could say that I can attest that Shounen anime are really action-packed and too dramatic when not even needed. I already succumbed myself to Grave of the Fireflies, Violet Evergarden, Clannad, Made in Abyss, Code Geass, FMAB, Steins; Gate, Ergo Proxy, Btooom, Kotari Lives Alone, etc. Shounen anime will give viewers the panacea of reality, that life could be full of actions and then hype of drama. Trick us into loving characters that actually have little to no background story. The thing here is, Frieren will be a timeless anime for the reason that how the story unfolds is like life. Look into Frieren without the concept of magic, and you will see that it itself is life. Slow, kind of boring, meeting people that could change our lives. It encapsulates the feeling of regret and what it means to be appreciated, valued, and loved. Many people do not like Frieren because they watch anime to escape reality. They watch anime because they want fun-filled adventures and actions which is mostly absent in our real lifes. But Frieren: Beyond the Journey's End, will remind us that life, through what we seem to be mundane, can still be beautiful if only appreciated. :))
