Really interesting video and I can't even imagine how much research went into making this . I know many of the pubs from working in the trade around these areas , but still learned a great deal watching . Thank you very much .
Thank you very much Mark! As some of the pubs have closed, many being converted to private homes, finding accurate information was tricky. Overall research, writing and filming for all the episodes up to and including "The Last Drop" took two years! We still have a few more "Last of the Summer Wine" related videos, and more on other shows, too...
I really enjoyed that Leigh thank you, I wonder if the boys enjoyed real ale during the pub scenes?, some of their pints look lovely. I have a lovely photo of my motorcycle parked outside The White Horse during my visit in 2000 and Ron was behind the bar. Thanks Gerard. Beer on tv is usually non-alcoholic, otherwise you risk getting the cast drunk! We did have a pint at the White Horse, but we did not have time to have a drink at every pub!
Fantastic Leigh. Been looking for a summer wine pub reference for ages and this is the ultimate one i would say. Will be in holmfirth in a couple of weeks and look forward to having a few in the white horse.
Thanks "Topps"... "Probably the best pub reference in the world” ... and for anyone that didn't realise; Carlsberg started using the slogan "Probably the best lager in the world” in 1973, the same year Summer Wine started, and stopped using it about 38 years later, just after Summer Wine ended!
