@mitchweis5971 if my eon sexually abused a minor he isnt my son anymore he gets what he deserves and stop trying to justify your reasons as to why the punisher is wrong when the punisher is in the right lol
I like how the bad guys in The Punisher are different than your regular Marvel movie bad guys. They're not just foot soldiers following orders or dealing in smuggling or stuff like that; you can feel these guys are rotten to the core (especially this one right here). That's why you can't help but feel they deserved to be put down permanently and as brutally as possible, because a punch in the face from Captain America or Black Widow would just be too generous....
For sure. The Punisher touches base on the darker side of life (reality) that effects the every day person instead of some over glorified super hero stuff. Love Captain America but Frank Castle appeals more to the every day person. He is the darker side of what some of us wish we were.
You genuinely think considering everything Black Widow would let this guy walk away? And might I remind you that when Cap found out Hank Pym beat his wife Cap beat the absolute shit out of him and left him nearly dead.
Iron Man fights aliens. Spiderman fights supervillains and common crooks. Daredevil fights mob bosses and gangs. Frank kills the scum the others can't or won't find. The ones who have done so wrong that they _deserve_ Frank.
This scene perfectly showcases Frank's sense of right and wrong. Its not necessarily criminals he punishes, its actually vile scumbags. He didn't care that the guy sold illegal equipment. Its only when he knew this guy was a monster that he made him suffer for it
Rez U know this is my favorite scene in daredevil because he killed a dirty creepy pawn shop owner who offered him mest up thing to a big dude that when u look at him does not look like the type of guy who would like that like pawn shop owner think man think
Store owner: “She’s barely 12! Hahaha…” Punisher: “In all my years of conquest…and violence…it was never personal. But what I’m about to do your…perverted, annoying little skull…I’m gonna enjoy it. Very very much…”
You dont need to be a parent, no matter what age the childs would be, to grab a bat in that situation and smash the clerks head to pieces again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again, then take a sip of your coffee and continue smashing his head and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again until your coffee is cold and the mans head is just fluid with tiny pieces of jelly and splinters from what was once a skull. Then burn the place down.
Love his face when the pawnbroker drops the "barely twelve" line, like "ok seriously, am I losing my edge? Do I look like the kind of guy you can safely say that to? God, I'm gonna miss the train now."
I'll never forget watching this with my dad; Being Korean, he hardly reacts and often requires some context here and there, but the moment I told him the pawn shop owner just tried selling child pornography, he went "ohhh, he's *dead"* 😆
I like how he not only took the surveillance and the store owners means of defense, but how it unintentionally plays out that he kills him and cant be filmed. I never seen this show or movie, but from what i picked up its cleverly written
This was in the 2nd season of Daredevil, which is honestly one of the best live action Marvel products period, in movies or TV. It’s sharp, mature and takes itself very seriously with ramifications that feel real and grounded. If you haven’t seen the show yet, I’d highly recommend it. My only criticism is that the seasons can run a little long sometimes, 13 episodes per. But since when is more content a net negative anyway?
kevlarkevin 18 batman: I wish i can kill but marvel fans will say “isn’t he supposed to be against killing” The punisher: if they didn’t have me then there shit is over
You can argue though that death is too easy a punishment, and what if he has loved ones? You'de be hurting them just cause the guy himself is scum? What gives him the right to determine that he's more in the right than the guys who killed his family?
@@ndhickson3599 I was drugged/assaulted ( the R word is hard to say) by a registered sex offender. Finding that out was horrible but made me learn to never not trust my gut feeling.
This scene is the most "Punisher" scene we will ever get. I love Thomas Jane Punisher from 2004 and Dirty Laundry. I love Ray Stevenson bringing this Punisher MAX to life in 2008. But Jon Bernthal as Punisher stole my heart. He's like a mix between classic Punisher, mixed with Garth Ennis's era of Frank Castle.
The Infamous Cowboy Casanova “Hi my name is Frank Castle, why don’t you lay down outside and bite the curb for a second, I’ve got some questions for you”
Hands down, Frank Castle is literally the most badass character to ever exist. That composed demeanor combined with seething rage, followed up with that sheer act of violence and brutality. This is the Punisher that we all know and love. 😛❣️
In punisher max comic series, the punisher has dealt with child predators filming their own children. This man calmly walks in and ask the parents to take the kids in the living room and meet him in the basement. He calmly tells them he's not a cop and to keep quiet, pulls out a suppressed pistol and shoot them both. Notifies the police of the kids and leaves......just to leave it out there
"In certain extreme situations, the law is inadequate. In order to shame its inadequacy, it is necessary to act outside the law. To pursue… natural justice. This is not vengeance. Revenge is not a valid motive, it’s an emotional response. No. Not vengeance. Punishment."
The guy buys a police radio, looks like a vet crew cut and all, knew about the shotgun and you try to hook him up with kiddie porn... cool to see you know your customers needs😂
Just one of my absolute favorite moments of the season if not the entire show. It encapsulates perfectly the Punisher and his uncompromising devotion to carrying out his particular brand of justice (to put the term loosely) at a moment's notice.
Well actually it doesn't really encapsulate his values. He usually doesn't deal with criminals, he punishes (kills) them and takes their shit. I thought the store owner was gonna die the minute Frank saw him deal with the first guy who was obviously not there to pawn something.
Truth is that it can be a problem. There’s guys who absolutely deserve what’s coming to them like in this scene, but then theres those who got into the gang or drug dealing business because they had no other ways of making money. Especially when it’s someone young. Frank does have some mercy for criminals on the younger side but still. at the end of the day I think the punisher existing should be enough to convince you not to get into this life
first time i saw this the moment the pawn broker said "she's barely 12" i started saying 'oh shit!' over and over, Bernthal is the MVP of this season by far.
Imagine he meets Peter. "Word of advice kid: next time you find a bad guy, don't knock them out, just put them fucking animals down for good. They can't change their stripes, so you gotta change it for them, permanently."
I would like to see where Frank got the Starbucks coffee lol. Punisher: "I want a Grande Mocha please".... Starbucks person: "Do you want whipped cream on that"... Punisher: "Yeah and put some nutmeg in there too. Thanks"... [Much more funnier if you read this in Punisher's voice]
dude yeah it is pretty funny but Frank is the working-class type, he loves a good old fashioned breakfast like bacon, eggs, and a good coffee so going to places like Starbucks is normal. he loves mom and pop breakfast diners though
I love this scene. After watching this scene, I thought to myself "now THAT is the punisher, finally, a writing team that understands his motivations and his character"
for me I noticed an issue in the comics punisher was never ever a hella skilled hand to hand person, to the point of getting the drop on daredevil in a fist fight
It’s like I could feel Frank’s emotions just through his mannerisms alone he doesn’t think the pawn clerk is important now from his sale of the blackmarket goods or this guys history from the tattoo but the second he mentioned kids frank was like “yeah I’m not gonna ignore that.”
I stiil love the fact that the Punisher is first introduced in this series, and he was introduced in a genius way. People who have no idea of who the punisher is and what kind of person he is will get immediately get one after this scene.
If you know the back story of the Punisher, none of his targets get out alive. He doesn't let someone walk just because he gets info out of them after interrogating them. He doesn't just serverely hurt someone because theyre crime isn't as bad as other. If you're his target, you die. No remorse from Frank.
Poor examples as those crossovers are cheesy and written expressively for Batman. If you look at actual training, combat experience and feats you will see Punisher is far superior to Batman in every way short of hand to hand; here Batman has an edge but not by much. Batman is just way over-hyped now; has been since the Animated Series. He is about as inhuman as a human has ever been in any comic. Punisher is also far easier to relate too ... combat vet who lost his family vs a ultra-wealthy ninja-assassin-trained super-genius. Sorry, have a hard time seeing anything actually relatable about Batman. Batman is good only because of his Rogue Gallery, without them ... he'd suck.
***** Not easily ... why is it some people deny Punisher's non-firearms combat ability? I mean, seriously ... and Punisher has beaten (or stand still), in canon, Deadpool, Bullseye, Spider-man, the Hulk, Wolverine ... just saying ... he is a match for Batman on all fronts.
Daredevil lost in their first encounter, only time Castle lost handily was on the boat and at that point Frank was clearly unwilling to harm Matt and was seriously conflicted. Batman was great when he was the Sherlock Holmes of DC, but when they decided to put him in the same league as Wonder Woman and Superman- they ruined him IMO. Other than PIS, on paper- Frank should be at minimum equal to Bruce; but Batman these days is OP Batgod wank material.
I actually saw great significance in this scene in painting a picture of The Punisher’s moral compass. You’d expect heroes the likes of Captain America and even Spider-Man putting a beatdown or subduing criminals selling stolen property. The Punisher is a different breed - he can overlook the petty crimes but the more horrendous crimes he sees as capital crimes and that’s where viewers get to see why he’s called the Punisher.
I'm friends with the actor who played the twitchy guy in the beginning. He said Jon Bernthal was totally cool and they even came up with the bit in the beginning where he bumps into Frank walking out.
You can see what the Punisher is thinking, What if that were my daughter?! How crazy that would drive the Dad that's still inside him. Great writing and acting. Tells you everything without a word being uttered. And it develops an ideological view that the viewer can sympathize with. See Snyder. That's how you do it.
@@arturodejesuscruzcasab9502 obviously Batman was okay with it since he reads the news and would see the stories about dudes he brands being killed in prison, over and over again. It’s public knowledge and Bruce and Alfred read the paper, yet he’s still doing it because he doesn’t care. Even at the end he has his brand ready to burn Luthor with and doesn’t do it at the last second.
As odd as it is, this is one of my favorite scenes for Frank. It truly shows his character, in my opinion, and circles around the fact that he really is a good person. He only hurts those who are in the need for it and would never harm a child or anyone as innocent as. Really love this character!
He would hurt somebody who is in his way. Like with Daredevil, he wouldn't kill him though cause he knows he's a good guy as well. He's got a "If you're not gonna help me, stay out of my way" thing
I believe that in the comics, the Ghost Rider DOES attempt to use the Penance Stare on Frank Castle, only for it to not work because the victim needs to feel guilt for something they've done- and Castle feels no guilt whatsoever.
@@SamaritanPrime first off I don't remember making this comment so this was funny to find second the penance stare has always been kinda iffy depending on who its being used on (or whos writing the comic)
that look at 3:03 when he sips the coffee is like "you know, it's not like I couldn't guess you were peddling that shit, but I am the LAST person you should have advertised it to"
the funniest thing about that part is that the owner actually thinks frank is a sick pervert and really wants the underage porn movie, and instead he gets his head smashed in 😂
@@rockyadams2825 yeah in the courtroom scene before Frank is sent to prison he says it right there that he liked killing the criminals that he was on trial for killing
In the comics, Frank uses the fact that he's killing criminals to justify his actions since he reality he actually just enjoys killing people, so he chooses to kill bad people
It's amazing how a single line of dialogue can flip a script. Up until he mentions the CP, he could pass off for any typical scumbag, probably deserves jail and a punch in the teeth but not evil to the core so Punisher decides not to waste his time on him. Then he brings up a 12 year old and Frank's switch gets....flipped....
I read a comment once that summed this scene up hilariously, it went something like, "How stupid are you? On a scale from zero to tried to sell the punisher child porn."
this scene, man. when the scumbag owner said "barely 12, guaranteed" and the look on Frank's face … jesus Christ. my heart dropped into my stomach. the guy got exactly what he deserved.
Agreed. There's a sense of euphoria when anti-heroes are in their most primal state and it's boring when writers pacify their main characters for the sake of character development. 🤦🏻♀️
@@ambushalliance9737 So you just like gore and violence, not actually seeing a character grow? You guys do realize that the fact that Frank is being the Punisher is because he's choosing to drown into resentment, anger and bitterness instead of grieveing his dead family and try to start a new life? Is this the life example you tell me I should follow?
