@carl_Pullein - one problem I run into is how to keep track of the duplicates in the list. For example: I get an email on Monday to do something which prompts me to make a task. Then Wednesday, I get another email about a change to that. Question: How do I juggle to COD system and ensuring duplicate tasks are not made?
Hi Scott, there are two approaches to this. The first is to give yourself a few minutes to update the existing task if you know you already have one in there. The second is to update the task when you do the weekly planning session. If you're using the Time Sector System, you will quickly see the duplicates and can re-word and update the task.
Thanks for refreshing COD 😃 Carl, as a big fan, short question: You linked a project task to your project page (in Evernote). In your trainings you propose just to have one task “Work on project X”… do you put also some project tasks in your todo list and then have it on both places? Thanks for a reply and have a good rest of the week
As a user of COD thank you for this timely recap. As my work ramps up in my new job I find to do prompts appear in various systems so need to factor in a sweep of these in my time sector schedule.
Thank you; very helpful. I find that I'm taking time to put Tasks in their proper categories in my ToDoist (and then getting distracted) rather than collecting them all in my ToDoist Inbox and then organizing later. I'll practice this. (The split screen lay-out for this video was very nice.)
Here he is! Mr Organised himself! Thanks so much for your videos, they're brilliant and honesty the only system that's worked for me that I want to stick with. Thanks so much 😊
I'm starting a new job in a few weeks and to prepare I have binge watched your content (which I like a lot) and I am now trying to set up my own system much like yours. I have a question: if you are waiting for someone to respond to an email or to do a certain task before you can do your own next step, how do you manage that in your Todoist? Are you creating a task "Waiting for NN to respond"? If so, where do you sort it? Cheers, Tommy.
Hi Tommy, I don't have any "waiting for" tasks. A waiting-for task is an incomplete task. What I mean is if I have asked "NN" for something, that something is the task. Until I get the response from NN, the task will not be complete. This means all I need to do is add a note that I asked NN something and reschedule the task. This avoids the build-up of an overwhelming waiting list full of things I am no longer waiting for and things I completely forgot about because they got lost in amongst all the other stuff I would be waiting for.
@@Carl_PulleinI love this approach! The whole buildup of waiting tasks was one of the reasons that I gave up on GTD, although I admittedly gave up years and years ago so didn’t try the system with newer cloud based apps.
Such a wonderful video 🤩 your content is really impressive 👏 but I saw your thumbnail needs some improvement Since thumbnails are key to attracting viewers I’d love to create a 🌟FREE thumbnail trial for your next video🌟 If you like it, we can discuss more. Looking forward to your response! 😊
Hi Carl , waiting for your take on latest today calendar view in todoist. Also it would be epic if Carl pullein himself is doing comparison video on things vs todoist and why you prefer the other. Thanks!
3 years, 10 months and 3 days and I've just achieved the Karma "Enlightened" level. Thank you for creating all your "Working with Todoist" videos that helped me get started and showed me tips and tricks I never knew existed.
