The circulating joke about the last dialogue between the Japanese mob and Rama at the very end is the Japanese was asking if there will be a third movie, and then Rama answered with that final line "no, I'm done"

@@bucinpekok1408 eh, nah not even close tbh. It's brutal but it doesn't really hold a candle to the raid. Plus joe taslim's fighting style in the movie seemed like it's just straight street fighting, so I was rooting for Iko uwais' character a bit more lmao

Little fun fact regarding the raid: -The second movie is actually the original planned movie, but since they have no budget at that time, they went to make the first movie with less budget, after it gained it's success, the original movie got greenlight. The choreography plan for the 2nd movie has already done even before the first movie. -unfortunately, Gareth Evans said there won't be the raid 3, he said himself he has moved on from this part of his life while also thinking that the end of the raid is enough for the series. -While he did say the things above, he also spoiled a bit "what if there is the raid 3?", he said there might be a new protag, guerilla war in the rain forest, and some unknown martial artist group that training in the middle of nowhere.

Reza was a corrupt, cop executive and the boss of the previous movie's asshole lieutenant Bangun was the underworld boss. Sure, he must have a deal with Reza and/or other corrupt cops, along with the Japanese gang. Tama (the previous movie's apartment boss and drug lord) was under Bangun's umbrella After Andy took over Tama's business, Bejo seemed to have asked him to become his underling but chose to stay loyal to Bangun. You could see at this movie's opening, Andy mentioned "Bangun won't let this go," but he was cut short by Bejo dismissing him, saying "Bangun is old now." Hopefully that clarify some of your confusion

Annoyingly I think there was space for The Raid 3. I think there was more to it than 'moving on.' Apostle is well worth watching. The Night Comes for Us is good but not in the same league as The Raid 1 and 2, but definitely worth your time.

The Best martial arts action movie! Bangun is the crime boss, and he has a partnership with the Japanese boss, Goto. Reza is just a high-ranking dirty cop that gets the payoffs, and they briefly show that above him, the commissioner was also dirty. Bejo is a new guy on the scene trying to takeover everything. You have to find the deleted scenes for this movie. They are equally awesome.

Gareth Evans actually had a plan to make the third movie after this one but after some issues there and there. It was confirmed that The Raid 3 wont ever happen. Im actually glad that was the case because i dont think theres a way to beat The Raid 2 as a sequel. There were lots of big action franchise that had too much sequel that the last part of said franchise ends up being underwhelming or a big dissapointment (The Matrix, Ong bak, Terminator)

That's a great point. Sometimes it's better to quit while you're ahead. I would like to think that Rama got to live to raise his son, and be with his family. Noone has earned the right to do so more than him. Besides like you said, a third might not live up to the others. Great point!

Okay since you asking about who is who, this is how I interpret it from the movie 1. Reza is the head of the corrupted police. You can see him in the beginning at the police office. He’s the one that selling territory to the gang like Bangun and the Japanese 2. Bangun gang is the biggest Indonesian gang and done business with the Japanese about splitting the territory so there’s no blood shed between them 3. Bejo is the new rising power, he’s the one who always hitting Bangung territories. In the beginning he killed Andi because he choose Bangun over him So there’s three pilar in the underworld, Reza (the police), Bangun (Indonesian biggest gang), and Goto (the Japanese). Basically Bejo want to takeover Bangun and clear the Japanese out of the Indonesia underworld. That’s why Bejo secure the alliance with Reza at the end. Uco never even considered as the player here by Bejo and Reza That’s all, CMIIW

Andy is working for Bangun, Bejo is a newcomer and asking Andy to be part of his crew, but Andy still loyal to Bangun. Then Bejo kill him to prove the point that he's the new boss. As for Reza, he's a corrupt cop who protect all the mob bosses (Bangun & Goto). So when Bejo, tries to rise up, Reza is asking for a better proposition.

Irrc, this film was originally its own thing but the director couldn't get the funding, so he made The Raid 1 and made it a prequel, and it did well and he finally got the funding for this film. But he also said there will never be a Raid 3

Rama has a brother, how about if Maddog also has a twin brother too? Uhm? That's a foreshadow if he (Rama) still on the same path he'd ended up in _pretty much_ same way (Death). Yakuza after all the fights, "Nah... I'm outta here!"

Honestly I want to see Rama vs kiryu (Yakuza series). That will be a hell of a fight even though kiryu will win hard diff. I just don't see Rama beating two lions with bare hand like kiryu, but I can't see kiryu keep up with how fast Rama striking speed (tiger drop doesn't included because it's straight up cheating)

The Snow scene.. That is not a snow.. That just an image of the situation of what "maddog" felt that time.. After being stab and losing to much blood.. He just felt as cold as snowing in there within his time running out. Note : because in Indonesia, we don't have snow
