Such a cute game! You’re definitely right about the trot, from a side point of view it sort it does look pretty stiff. Considering this game was made by one person it’s pretty cute and I’m excited for it. I normally like big RPG horse games where I can play with other people but Ranch Of Rivershine, Astride, Tales of Rein Ravine etc are such amazing games with a ton of potential! Love your videos 🐎
I am so excited for this! It's astounding that just one person is making this! There aren't words to express how incredible that is! Also, an idea for exploration: taking photographs of wild animals and making a scrapbook with them. There could also be flowers and leaves to collect for the scrapbook. ^_^
It more than likely means it's going to be a great game too! I find all my games made by solo creators/duos are all just fantastic. Stardew Valley for example was made by one guy and it's probably my favourite game of all times, bugs get fixed quickly, they listen to their audience and are just super attentive to their games. Very excited for this one!
Now THIS is an open world! :D Also that small detail (13:08 -13:15) of rider getting a bit out of the saddle, leaning forward and giving more rein when the horse is trotting small uphill,leaning forward and giving more rain? that is absolutely beautiful
Just an idea for the dev, they could make some crops grow in the wild for you to collect like apples, carrots... It could have a very small chance of dropping seeds so you don't have to buy, and if the wild crops spawns in those open areas it could give the players a good reason to explore!
That actually is a feature! You can pick up less expensive foragables like straw, and apples around the world, and they do have a chance to drop a pack of seeds as well so you can grow more of your own.
The fact that they include not only diverse characters with different personalities, skin tones, body types, etc- but they included a character with vitiligo! idk why, but that makes me happy lol
So I just started the demo last night. Gotta say, just as a demo, this game is already awesome. Already 100 times better than emerald valley ranch was. This is what emerald valley ranch should’ve been. And the fact this is just one person? Absolutely phenomenal, like, I am blown away. I am playing on my steam deck and it’s running amazingly. I had to restructure the controls but it was very simple to do. I can’t wait for the full version to come out!!
I actually sped off to play the Demo before watching this video. I definitely had less visual bugs myself and overall I am so excited to see it progress. Especially as a 1 person passion project it has already beat a game I spent £40 just as a demo which leaves me in awe. Can't wait to play more of the demo and to see what else Cozy Bee Games will bring into the game
This looks very exciting! I am actually looking forward to playing this game. After the dumpster fire that was "Horse Fails" (Horse Tales: Emerald Valley Ranch) its pretty nice to see there is another dev working on a game that shows much more promise in the early stages. I actually play and enjoy Horse Tales, they've patched it quite a bit so it works much better. But I admit, it definitely has and has had its issues, the developers are continuing to patch it, I wish games would actually be tested more and come out finished.
The game really lives up to its company name, cozy bee. It feels very relaxing, at your own pace, no pay to win model, no fomo. Something to play both casually and for hours without consequences. I absolutely love the art style with an overall sepia tone to the color palette, it feels kinda like an old western movie. It's very promising with auctioning and farming!
LOL! Oh man, it sure does! It has a very zen like feel. A lot of people have compared it to star dew valley, and I can certainly see the similarities! I really do have high hopes for this one! ^^
i also got access to the demo early and im very impressed with Éloïse's work as always. i had a lot of fun bug testing and seeing everyone gush over horse coloration, give gameplay suggestions, making mockups for Éloïse's refence, etc. Very excited to continue with the public beta and have new people see what Cozy Bee games has to offer
The "Go To Entrance" button already works on the map. :D You just need to click on any of the locations (entrances, houses, etc.) on the map and then the button will be enabled.
@@YTRattle Yup! xD I kinda found it by accident myself, so I would definitely recommend throwing in a pop-up with a bit of info when you open the map the first time.
Really looking forward to this and I'm so glad to see it's getting the extra time it needs to be polished and fully complete (unlike other games...) The animations are a little simplistic but I think that actually works quite well for the games style. I'm hoping for a 1st person camera, personally.
@@YTRattle So few (horse) games do 1st person camera. I can only think of red dead redemption 2 and gallop racer 2006 off the top of my head. It's just perfect for immersion and would make ranch of rivershine just a cut above the rest for that extra detail
I said "no more crappy horse games ever again" and I meant it. Seriously. I'm too old to play with games that are lackluster and meant for 6 years olds. This game is not enough for today's standards where video games are made to look like real life. HOWEVER. As I played another cute "teatime" game from Cozy Bee and I must say I loved the vibe, I gave this one a go just for the sake of it. And I think this is just the one you would want to play when you are really tired of everything and just need a good time (and like horse games). Grab a cup of your favourite and just play it. The music, environment, sounds are absolutely sublime. Relaxing and cozy. I might as well get it when it comes out because I like when I have no worries. I love the gathering element, the care for your horse element (yes it's seen too much but I still enjoyed it) even though I hate the horse/rider animations. I can't wait for breeding, I think Cozy Bee achieved what they wanted. This is a relaxing, cozy, teatime game. Like having that good book that only gives you good vibes. Again: music and sounds are sublime, over the top. Well done, seriously. (Someone who had enough of bad horse games)
I jumped straight into the game as soon as I saw the Demo trailer was released! I have never opened Steam so quickly I have been having my eye on this game for many, many months and I am happily suprised by the quality of the Demo so far ♥ I like the auction house just sadly takes a little to long to switch to the new horse but there is always a charm with that sort of thing as well ♥ The Graphics of a cute, open and very uniqe style is what made me so drawn to the game ♥ Can not wait to play even more of it and see what it has in store ♥ Amazing video as always Rattle! I think the most surprising part to me and my friend is that the demo is 5-10 hours long. A LOT of other games demos are really short, but Rivershine allows you to play the demo and explore at your own pace (minus the horse energy part) which I think is really nice and a lot more relaxing
since the chickens already exist, it could be possible to add them to the farm to care for, feed and sell the eggs for some extra cash. sheep and cows too, space for them seems to be there and selling the products could decrease the grind for money and adds more optional income this way.
For me steering with the mouse was harder like it was too slow to turn. Like the turn is too big and when I do it with wasd it works fine I really like the game so far and can't wait for it's full release! ❤️ It's so cozy
I hope they add accessories like hearing aids, like BTE's (Behind The Ear) AND cochlear ones, including glasses. Maybe even mobility aids and prosthetics (But it might take time to animate and program those, so I won't judge them if they're not added)

I just started the demo and it says horses that are in the pasture don't need daily care, so if you don't want to take care of all your horses, put them in the pasture

I feel like ranch of rivershine is a much better version of the emerald valley ranch game. I dont have emerald valley ranch but in both games you can collect things from the ground and it resets everyday, mini games to take care of your horses, the races and art styles kinda remind me of each other. I dont think it was meant to happend but I personally recommend getting ranch of rivershine instead of emerald valley ranch, even if I havent played emereld valley ranch and just seen other people play it lol. It might just be me who thinks it might be almost the same game but ones much better then the other lol

Anybody laughed at the name Lazy Acorn ? No just me ?😂 I saw so many little details like when you go uphill, the character lean forward and give more reins to the horse 🥹 this attention to details really confort me in the fact that things that feel grindy and repetitive are going to be worked and well thought 😊 I am not a fan of the animations for now but I am sure work will be put in these😊 it looks so fun!! Finally a game who looks fun 🤩 good job to the creator!
I love the Demo available currently on Steam! This game has great potential. I already love all other games from Cozy Bee Games so this seems like it will be another new favorite when it will be fully released! :D
Also, I’d love it if you could do a comparison from My riding Stables: Life with horses (that old old version) and that god awful copy that has been made for the switch(?) Like, same mechanics, even WORSE graphics??? Your reviews and videos are so in dept and you’ve made me change my opinion about subjects. This game looks interesting, I'm wondering if it will eventually come out on a console. The last horse game I got and the first one I've had in a long time (and I mean horse horse game, not a game with horses) is Horse Tales, and I actually do enjoy that game despite the issues, and the developers have just released a big patch to make it more playable. It seems like it's not just horse games now that are coming out unfinished though, ik quite a few games seem to be rushed to completion with a need for patch after patch after patch to really bring out their potential. It's a shame.
I actually don’t play horse games (I’m picky with what games I play and just haven’t seen many horse games that appeal to me)but I’m really drawn to this one! I’m unsure I’d be able to explain why, but I get faint Animals Crossing New Horizon vibes from the gameplay footage! Not really in the sense of customizing an island, but more the relaxed yet engaging gameplay! Cool video!
I really love this demo footage! The music, character still art, environment textures/style/colouring, and overall calm and 'do your thing at your own pace' kinda feel really makes me love it already.
I grew up with old horse games. (Tbf I mostly played My Riding Stables: Life with horses and ‘Anky van Grunsven en het mysterie van de verdwenen paarden’ (-l cannot find the English version/name of the English version) I played the living shit out of it. This game is going to be children their youths. I know my children are going to play this game and they will spent hours just doing the grindy chores. And I can’t wait until this game is going to be in early acces. The demo already looks like you can spend hours to entertain yourself.
Thank you for the informations. I´m looking forward to the fully release and your review about it. I bought it as EA because the horses, the nature and the races look fine. - But after playing some days I´m also disappointed. Everything in the game is so expensive, the races are a little to hard to earn enough money, so I have only poor progress and the game get´s repetetive and a bit tedious. After competing two races the horses are tired. You can compete with more horses, but the day is not so long. - I follow the discussions so I know, there is now a story mode in the game for people with problems with racing to skip racing-quests. I know some players disappointed about that who would buy RoR if there would be instead difficulty-setting for the game. Another point is breeding - the coat of a foal looks like mum or dad, no color-breeding or like normal genetic rules. There are mainly fans of the game, critcism will be not really heard , I think.
I love everything about the game except the animations, The animations of the horses look so stiff and wonky to me, i know that it was made by one person, and so im hoping these will be improved upon later.
It's a positive review, they do exist, surprsingly! XD But I'll be honest, it's VERY difficult to review a game that is not done yet. Everything can change, elements can be removed entirely, so it's kind of odd trying to review something that isn't finished yet. But the demo is actually pretty good, and I do try and keep in mind that one person is making this. But, once the game is fully released I'll definately take a look again 👀
