The best thing about these videos is 3 generations of men working together. That’s the most beautiful, age-old tradition, the importance of which can not be overstated. I was fortunate to be able to wrench and build with my father and the confidence and self reliance that builds in a young man, not to mention the transfer of knowledge and wisdom, builds the sort of men sorely needed in this world. God Bless you all, and thanks for sharing with us, it’s a wonderful thing.

That's a really cool tow truck. I really like to watch these building videos, they are really good. A little tip an old timer taught me with u-joints: When you get done putting them together and they’re a little tight, just wrap each one of the flanges or ears on the yoke that surround the u-joint cap with a hammer and they’ll move like butter after. I had a little cat that moved in my shop years ago, 19 years later he passed away. After he hung out for some time and come winter we put a cat box in the corner by the overhead. We took him in got all his shots and had him fixed. I also put in a catflap/catdoor with a 2X2X2 mud-room inside and out of the wall. I added a tight fit obstacle course outside to help prevent dogs and larger wildlife from getting in the shop when we weren't around and it worked. Mice were a thing of the past, mice droppings were a thing of the past, mice urine on everything including receipts was a thing of the past. That little un-wanted cat ran a tight ship keeping ne'er-do-wells out of his domain.....no mice, no squirrels, no chipmunks, no gnawed electrical no gnawed nothing. Make it so she can get in and out, keep her water fresh, keep her food fresh, and keep that food & water 3 or 4 feet off the floor. I think that little black cat will earn her keep. ps: Ours was named GMC short for Grease Monkey Cat, go ahead and use that name. Add her to your video's, and she'll become part of your channel.......People like dogs and cats.

Quit being a cat hater Paul. It’ll keep the mice out of that shop of yours.

Not that 1 ton springs will ever ride or flex very good but I was amazed at how much it helped flex on some of my old jeeps by keeping the leaves oiled up. Usually sprayed silicone spray but even a light spray of used motor oil makes them work way better. With a load it's gonna flex one way or another I guess.

I’m glad there’s nothing too weird or over quirky. Just good fab work.

On planning. Living in Paradise does present problems. But there are sacrifices that have to be made. In the end it is all worth it!

Fantastic work and video Fabrat as usual. The last bit when your father test drove the truck, he looked so comfortable and at home, looks like he has this truck for a very long time and enjoy using it. This vehicle has a mad Max feel to it. I'm loving it.

In Michigan its a drive shaft. The driveline would be motor, trans, transfer case, both drive shafts and both axles. Like you said 6/half dozen...

I'm glad to see at least one of the boys is learning. You know one went off the wrong side of the road when he started painting before completion of the job.. GREEN HORN

Thanks for the videos. I always installed the cardan shaft with the smaller part fixed in the gearbox. Prevents the ingress of water and mud and also protects the glove. (Google translate).

Such a relaxed attitude on your build. I guess it's that way when you know what your doing.

Hey Paul ... Luv your videos. I thought I'd mention not to run that Optima battery in parallel with the lead acid batteries in the back of your truck. The Optima battery is different with a low internal resistance and may cause issues. I would isolate with a solenoid tied to ignition hot. May be okay under charge voltage but only with charge voltage is present.
