In my opinion being able to manipulate a series of curses would be the best assassin builds in the world. I wonder if their are mages that specifically wield curse talents not like the mabeast who are kinda like one trick ponies, but beyond what they're capable of and knowing multiple curse techniques.

I love MT's magic ranks a ton! it feels a lot like spell levels from D&D

@@palazard95 What i love about MT system is that just like with Re:Zero, it's deceptively simple at first look but way more complex once you look deeper. For example both the ranks and classifications are human made frameworks around the system making it easier to understand and learn, not an intrinsic part of the system. Just like in real life "Newton's rules" aren't built in to the fabric of the universe, but a scientist trying to put their observations into words and equations.

In general, they're a kind of curse art. A spell laid waiting for a specific trigger, but their mechanics are still a little unclear. Roswaal explains them to a point in EX 2 I think, but I don't own the novel to confirm that.

If you forcibly introduce a witch factor into a being with no affinity, you do get these afflictions. The witch personality that spawns from the factor's influence, and the original self conflict... is perhaps what to call it. Though, my view is they're the same being, so I can't really see the point in differentiating them like the others do.” As to whether it is based on how "sinful" of a person the holder of a WF is, that is a valid interpretation of Echidna's word in chapter 12 of Arc 4, where she also used the term affinity for the sin/WF, as well as seeing the person Geuse was before taking in the WF himself. It isn't said anywhere concrete, if I'm not mistaken
