Do you think Accra is Expensive? i think the cost to be here (Central parts of Accra) for a short period of time is definitely manageable but can quickly become too expensive if you live here on a long term basis. Unless you move outside Osu, East legon, Cantoments and such areas. I think for the average person Accra is expensive to live permanently. It seems doable if you maintain a strict budget and cook at home all the time.

Comparatively central accra is expensive to the rest of the city and even more than most European cities. If you are Ghanaian visiting you can manage with some street food but not sure for a foreigner. Thanks for the good work done👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

The prices are very cheap for tourist but I guess if you are a Ghanaian living there it’s expensive to them based on their income. Understandable. A tip for budget travellers - find the local market and do a bit of simple shopping eg eggs, some tomatoes onions, etc, get your fresh tea bread every morning and that will be breakfast or lunch sorted for most days. So more money in your pocket to spend on other fun things. Enjoy. Thanks Ama for another informative vlog❤❤😘😘😘

Those windows looks like the ones we had in the 60s in Jamaica. They are called luva windows. It allows breeze in the house.

The Airbnb was a tad expensive in my opinion with so few amenities... $60 per day adds up quickly and especially when there was nothing interesting or unique about it. Just a normal room with a tiny, but tidy kitchen. When I travel I prefer eating out local food dinner, but lunch or breakfast the kitchen will do. $87 for one person in one day is very expensive 😕 even for a tourist... can't even imagine what's it's like for the average local. Also what are the attractions in that area? That could somewhat justify the prices...

It was in a hotspot in Accra so u cant find cheaper in that area but if u go a little further away u can find some for much cheaper x

For the average Ghanaian, with the exception of the kenkey and fish , I feel the places you visited might be a tad bit expensive . 70ghs for breakfast s3 Aden 🤨 but for a tourist, I guess it’s doable. The average breakfast in the uk is less than £5 . Insightful video thou 👌🏾 Ps. Did you spend that amount within 24 hours? If that’s the case , that sounds like a lot. Almost £100.

@@JasmineAmaa I like your videos but sometimes you exaggerate as if Ghana is affordable. Sometime, you will house that even a medical doctor can't afford. How can a house be the same price as the western world. I know, you are paid to promote those house but you must retain neutral. Ghana is very expensive. The minimum wage is 12 ghc/day. The struggle is real. It is like living in hell.

I like the Osu area of Ghana and I will probably stay in that area. I like the walkability to lots of eating places. That airbnb was a lot cheaper than where I stayed in April. I think where you stayed was great. I will be coming back 2023 for at least 6 weeks.

I have just come back after 3 months in Ghana. I had been to Accra 4 times. Each time I used taxis, all said they did not know where I was going. Although I used an App with a price displayed before I was picked up, each taxi charged me more than double and drove for longer than needed. The carpark of main shopping Mall, I was having a cigarette on my last day before flying home. A Young carpark attendant came up to me. He said he was going to call the police I was breaking the law and would not be flying home later that evening. When he saw me becoming anxious, he said if I give him money he would not tell the police. He would only accept Ghc 100.00. This is a very corrupt country, and makes tourists scared. Wait for 50 years until it has time to develop and catch up with the rest of the world.

Totally agree with you, if you tend to eat out and do takeaways even in places like London, you will find the place expensive. The solution is eating home cooked meals which can be plentiful with very small portions of ingredients.

Accra is so expensive now. I remember when I was there for my studies from 2002 to 2004, everything was so cheap. Accra was a heavenly country. Nowadays unless you rent a home and start cooking for yourself, you can't live in Accra.

I think the hotel room was a nice price ncluding in room is your get a kitchen so I think that great. So basically if you choose not to eat outdoor you have a choice to eat at room. Also the place you went to eat was a good price too. So basically I think you spend $ 40.00 not bad.

Omg, the entry applications, health declaration forms, vaccination certificate(s), letter of invitation, PCR test (w/documentation) etc., from Tema to Osu must have been excruciating! 😨 Fortunately you didn't need to go through security at the airport 😛 Tacky joke aside, I thought it was a good good depiction for such a short stay. Likely many who travel to Ghana, with Accra being an interlude.

@@gainsja3530 you will need to be vaccinated against yellow fever, that is a must. Apart from that you should have against hepatitis A and B, even for short stays. If you're staying for a month or more, especially if trekking the countryside, polio is recommended, alongside whooping cough, diphtheria, and tetanus. Top it with tyfoid, meningococcal vaccine to ensure your trip won't be needlessly uncomfortable/dangerous. What you absolutely should have in addition to the mandatory yellow fever, and optional vaccines, is malaria profylactics. Fortunately the Ghanaian state is beginning to roll out a breakthrough vaccine for malaria (made by Ghana, in collaboration with several other African states). Convenient? Sure, but I want it to show off when I get back home, gloating over my folks who only have a puny covid-vaccine on their certificate.

Jasmin great content, AGAIN ... I was suprised by the cost of the Air bnb yet I understand it was a more upscale area. Nice room with cooking facilities, thats a plus.How was the wifi and internet connection I would expect it to be good for that cost of accomodation. Food price was excellent. I liked the point you made about ameneties being within walking distance, that is a big plus. If the accomodation was around 350ghs that would have been excellent (My budget). It was nice to have the welcoming gift, nice touch. Room was nice and clean. I liked the louvre windows too. Distance for the Uber ride say its 13 miles very reasonable. So overall it I would say it is a good look reasonable pricing!! Thank you ....

Hi Jasmine, would you feel safe staying there if you were by yourself, how safe is it just staying at the AirBnB ? Were your friends staying at the same place and was the guy from Ghana ?
