One area that not many have brought up is how Micah has signed on with other companies, independent of Good Good. Hyundai, coffee, airbnb/hotel travel stays. It might be harder to leverage the Good Good stats because they are divided, so they want to put more into their channel to get individual sponsors. Lots of esports orgs, potentially similar to content organizations, tend to negotiate all partnerships on behalf of their players/talent. That could be a big factor for Grant/Micah.

Theyre such good friends, gonna be the most hard on them if they are completely going seperate ways. Hard to believe with the Mizuno stuff etc. But I have to think Grant wants the freedom to be with his wife and family. Having just watched Grants video… he said something very similar to what Micah also said… VALUES. Knowing Micah and Grant are devout Christians, they have openly said that their Faith is number 1 in their lives, I feel the Good Good brand, in some way, started challenging their principles in faith. In a nut shell I believe this was significant enough for them both to choose their beliefs over everything else. JMO.
@ComeFurtherUp

I don't think it was potentially the Christian values but I could see how that would get in the way. I think it came from both Micah and Grant being married and focusing on the future of their families.

What you got to remember is, it’s not just videos, these channels are a business, it’s their financial futures and it pays the bills. Micha, wants to go pro, do long drive, him and his wife bought the big camper to do traveling, he went down his path for his reasons. Then he gets a deal with Teebox app, that video was a concept, like a promo commercial. So they invited the creators who they could get together to put a video together to get the word out. Micha, gets a deal with Genesis motors, he has his coffee brand. Grant, has a future wife and his family, plus then his wife’s family to think about. I’m sure Grant had some major sit down meetings with family to try and make this decision, and I’m sure it was a hard one. Both of those guys had to think about their futures for good reasons, we all had to do that in our lives. It will be interesting to see what goes on with Grant, his Dad has been a golf instructor for over 30 years, might Grant go that patch and do like, Rick Shiels, Peter Finch, time will tell. I’m excited to see how creative he will get, plus if he signs on with a established brand. I betting it will be great.

My opinion is …..Different vision and direction along with a less chaotic schedule(GG trips I felt were always last second and poorly planned due to multiple people’s schedule aligning so Grant and Micah may like a planned schedule) and the freedom of their own channel and probably along with future family planning made it hard to stay even though financially it might be better option. When I was their age my buddies and I had an investment LLC and every month we would meet according to our bylaws and decide where the monthly dues were to go. After a year a difference in investment style had us disband it, but we all remained friends just not business partners.

Finally a good take looking from the outside and considering the circumstances. People need to understand that as you all said, good good is a company’s it’s not the dudes in the video. They’re employees, and the businessmen behind the company may have had a new plan for their RU-vid deal and it didn’t gel with grant and he didn’t want to continue and fair play to him. I think Grant was pivotal in growing good good as much as good good has helped him grow. He was my favorite guy in the group I loved his labs videos and mind for the game. He imo had the most polished game, his swing was so fundamental but so great to watch. Look forward to the future for both GG and Grant

I disagree with this take a lot actually. It would be like you and your friends all quit your jobs to start a business together and then your friend decided to leave to start his own business without you. im not saying i think hes a dick for leaving i’m just saying that they aren’t just employees. They started the brand and business.(grant cane in slightly after but same concept because they knew him from the start as a friend)I understand matt and Steven have been around longer but arguably the face of good good is Garrett and grant as a duo. He has left a very large impact on good good as a brand and product he started. it would be like the guy who made dirty dough. Look it up. He knew the recipe and marketing if crumbl, left crumbl and started dirty dough… again not saying that that is wrong im just saying that is a better analogy than them being employees

You have it twisted. The Good Good guys do not own GG. They did not start GG and they don’t own it. A guy named Matt Kendrick owns the GG company and effectively employs the GG guys. To be clear, Good Good is a company that sells golf metchandise and the GG channel is notjing more than an ongoing advertisrmrnt to sell golf merch. The GG channel only cates about growing sunscribers to increase the pool that golf metch can be sold to, not bevause their motivation is make money from YT based on views. I would bet that whatever money is made grom YT viewers doesn’t rven cover the cost of producing tjr bideos, flying the guys to livations, the video production & editing salaries, etc. The GG housr, watehousr, lan, etc are huge costs that ate paid for, not by thd 6 GG guys, but by thd company CEO, Krndrick, and any silent investors in the company. All 6 GG guys could leave and there will still be a GG company selling golf merch with 6 other guys on thr YT channel. If thr 6 guys owned the company as you suggest, none of tjem van leave without thd other 5 “partners” buying out the share of the company hat the departing partner owns. In your example of friends forming a company and then one frirnd not eanting to do that business anymote, that one frirnd would still own a share of the company even if they no lomger worked for that company unless thd other 5 frirnds bought back the 1/6th share of the departing parnet. Buy that is not what happened with Grant & Micah. The only way fot thrm to just salk away is because they were employees work of thd GG company that the CEO Krndrick (and possibly investors) own. Like the Divot Dudes said, GG is not a YT channel, GG is a merch business that operates a YT chsnnel as a way to advettise fof their metvh business.

Gotta say I do feel for GG; Micah & Grant's departures are far from insignificant, but at the same time, GG can certainly bounce back and move forward. I actually saw both departures coming. I think what Grant & Micah both have in common with their decision to leave is they want to be able to make a living at golf; not RU-vid. Sure, RU-vid will be there for them and won't be an insignificant part of their families' income in the near term. Micah wants to go pro, and I think his path forward will be more challenging; but with a lot more work and coaching, you gotta believe he at least has a chance. It will be tough, though. Grant was my favorite guy in GG. He has a great personality and relates well with others, has a great approach to golf and his game, and shows he has the potential to be a great teacher of the game. I love the way he talks his way around a golf course and through his process. I'm not sure Grant necessarily has strong aspirations to go pro soon (if at all). As you guys mentioned, I think their individual family situations weighed strongly into both of their decisions to move on, as well as their own personal and professional aspirations for what they want to do with golf and their careers. Being good at golf takes no small amount of work. Being great, or competitive on the professional battlefield, takes a TON of work and dedication. Kinda makes it obvious why Micah left. I'm not so sure what Grant's reasons and motivations are, as I haven't really heard him talk alot about what he wants to do career-wise. What is obvious is that staying with GG and the demands it puts on your time was certainly impeding Grant from moving toward his goals; whatever they happen to be. I believe it's fair to say he gained a lot from being in GG, and he contributed an awful lot, as well; so there's no reason to throw hissy-fits, and no reason for there to be any bad blood between them all.. I have to applaud both for taking their leaps of faith and chasing their dreams. I'm just waiting to see what that'll be for Grant. I could see him making a really nice living as a PGA club and teaching professional on a large scale. Since he got the great opportunity of travelling a lot with GG, though, he may also have a strong desire to be a tournament pro. We'll see, I guess. That's it for this video. Thanks, Divot Dudes, and peace out...

One separate thing to speculate. You guys mentioned Good Good as a business. Grant and Micah were posting more to their own channels. One thing that in theory might have forced Grant/Micah's hand is if the Good Good executives created a new non compete clause restricting what content each could make while employed by Good Good... FYI - GG execs (or any rmployer) can’t create a bew non-compete agreement after an.employee has already started working for them. In order for such an agreemrnt to be rnforveable, it iuld have to be signed at the beginning of employment. If a new agreemrnt could be created at any timr, then an emplyer would have the powerf to block anything and everything an employee might do outside of their employment. An example is an employee who starts a business that they operate when not working for their emplyer. The emplyer finds out about the outside bsinrss and tries to create a non-compete agreemrnt and enforce that against the emplyee. That agreemrnt would not be rnfoceable enforceable because that agreement was not a condition of emplying the employee up fromt. So, if there is no restriction up front as a condition of employment on the employee starting their own business or takung a 2nd job, such a restriction can’t be forced onto an emplyee out of the blue.

I think its a combination of both the family reasons stated but also business, Good Good will release clubs soon and and that will hurt Grants deal with Mizuno and Micah's deal with Cobra and other possible future partners. Grant joining late was just an employee probably not an equity partner so longer he stays the more he limits his earning potential. Grant was also an employee of GM golf so he spent 1 week a month working on Good Good and 1 week a month on GM Golf and these are generally not a simple week 6-10 days at a time which doesn't leave much time for family or his own channel or being based back in Florida. Micah was also that bit older clearly was not one of the guys no where near as much of the course, his life was already going in a different direction so it just makes sense for him. Focus on going pro building his solo brand

My 2 cents, as we are all only the outside looking in, from a personal point of view, Grant and Micah appear to be heavily family focused men that would be extremely protective of their wives/partners etc. I could see scenarios where some of the guys may have been disrespectful towards them, unintentionally even. You could imagine Matt telling someone's wife to shut their mouth even as a joke, but that can upset some people, even guys saying they are Christians or people of faith, but then conducting themselves in a fashion off camera that doesn't reflect their belief could also upset people enough, different beliefs and direction was a phrase used somewhere. Unfortunately for all of us, we are all people on the outside looking in, so everything is only speculation, but people moving on happens everywhere. I think Grant and Micah have made decisions based on what makes them the most happy, so why is everyone upset that they are chasing their own happiness?? Why are we free to choose our happiness, but they can't follow their own dreams, beliefs, and happiness? Good Good will continue to grow, and Grant and Micah will follow their own dreams and happiness as they deserve.

Overall, the company was more than likely not compensating Grant well enough considering he was basically running 3 Good Good channels while still running his own. I’m not saying he deserved more equity up front, but Grant was basically the main reason this entire company started exploding. They offered “the kitchen sink” when it was too late when Grant had already made up his mind to go home to his family. There is a reason why the content elevated the last year. Top collegiate players, elite junior players, and even pros play with only Grant and Garrett. Kwon will have a big role to fill.

However when Grant released his short video he said he was not going to compromise. I do not believe this is going to end well with one party or the other. When Matt spoke about the January 3rd release about everything will be told he was pretty emphatic about it. Once you heard them say, “Legally I can’t expand on certain things.”, you know there is a lot more involved than just personalities on the screen. As I mentioned in other comments, it’s the same as watching a show like Saturday Night Live. Personalities move on to pursue careers and other personalities will revolve in. In the backend there is a business operating that will make the moves to keep the ship righted. Grant will do great, so will Good Good. Imagine a brand searching to sponsor an individual and because of your contract the company may own a large portion of that income. There is always more than you see so it sorta ignorant to lay down negative comments without really knowing the details. 🧐

You nailed it when referring to Grant's loyalty to his family and his new fiancé. I don't think people understand how much Good Good travels to create the content that they put out, combined with Good Good being based in Texas and Grant's family being from Florida. I've been in situations where you are being pulled from two opposite sides, and no matter what decision you make, you let down one side or the other.. It is a terrible feeling and that is where Grant was. There is also the new fiance' factor, and while we don't know a lot about Grants fiancé I can't imagine she would be thrilled with how much Grant is away from home. If she didn't like it I guarantee she was a factor in Grant's decision. That said, I have a theory. Grant and Matt were both engaged on the same trip to Greece. During the Good Good video about Grant/Micah they boys (Garrett, Bubbie and Steve) would refer to something about Grant leaving or Grant in general and for the most part Matt was silent regarding Grant. He did say somethings, but for the most part he was not commenting, not looking at the camera. Matt has also been creating more solo content on his own channel.. So I'm calling it now... Matt is the next to leave Good Good, and I think it will be pretty soon.

I've done this with Crossfield, Me and My Golf, Rick Shiels and a few others, and now Good Good is getting a little stale for me. It was fun getting to know the Guy's and watching them play, for a couple of years, but there's only so much you can do with this type of format and it's becoming a little formulaic and predictable. With Micah and Grant leaving, it's like a TV series that has to replace an Actor that leaves, Kwan is a great Golfer, and a nice Guy, but he doesn't have enough personality to compel, and if they can't find anybody else with enough charisma, I think their in danger of becoming boring. Matt, Steve and Bubbie are great to watch mainly because of their personalities, Garrett is a great 'anchor' for the show and Micah and Grant were the 'normal' ones who made it all balance out, they've lost that balance now.
