A 59 year old problem disappeared thanks to CeraVe. Tried EVERYTHING from dermatologists. My daughters have the same skin issue and I was thrilled I could give them a bottle of CeraVe each that helped them. Now I’m trying out the SA smoothing cream on my scars with a formidable good effect. After several operations the skin around the scar is suffering, the delivery of nutrition to the skin seems to be disturbed, and the skin is always dead, grey and dry. I have tried it all, without any effect. The SA cream dissolves the dead skin cells within hours and lets new soft skin appear. It doesn’t treat the CAUSE which is on a cellular level, but it gives me joy to get rid of the dead grey skin. Sometimes the least impressive bottles are the ones that is worth gold. Like CeraVe, The Ordinary and Niod.

Basically means that they aren't tested on animals, example, normally a large part of an animal is shaved, a cream is only put on one half of that area, it's exposed to radiation for hours that burns the skin on the side without cream, sometimes even the side of the cream will hurt the animal because of chemicals. Today living tissue can be created where these chemicals can be tested without the need to use animals. Having the "cruelty free" logo doesn't guarantee that it's 100%, it doesn't guarantee that it will not harm animals in other ways, but I think it' a good way to start becoming aware of the problem

Hi! Loreal is now cruelty-free. Does anyone happen to know if this applies to all of the brands they've acquired, including Cerave? Additionally, China does make some exceptions in terms of animal testing for well-tolerated ingredients. All of this seems like a confusing grey area. Would love to get some more facts. Thanks for all the information.

I appreciate this video very much. I have acute eczema since childhood and for years my dermatologists were giving me samples and encouraging me to lather in Cetaphil. By the age of 25, living in the Caribbean my skin barrier was so damaged and dry because no matter how much amount of Cetaphil I lathered in the morning or after shower, no matter how many cortisone creams or allergy pills I took, my face and body skin erupted badly. It was after a full allergy test in an Allergist Center that I found I was allergic to many food items including nuts. Cetaphil had Macadamia oil and my allergist suggested to switch to CeraVe. My life changed the moment this happened. Cannot understand why doctors prescribe or encourage these items when they don't work for everybody. No brand is perfect and I wish there were many more natural, eco-friendly options to try and proven by science that do not damage my skin but so far I have not been able to find a brand that meets all the boxes. CeraVe works for me so far but after this video, I am left wondering what other options are out there that care for the planet and earth and are not animal tested, will start researching more... thank you for sharing this.

I may be wrong but I believe CeraVe does not test on animals themselves, but they do sell in countries that require their products to be tested, but for the United States they do not test. So the testing is third party as they want to sell in places like China. It becomes a moral grey area because in order for the brand to stop testing entirely then have to stop selling to entire countries which would limit access to people who may need the products.
@ladycaticorn2950
@ladycaticorn2950 2 года назад
It is not unreasonable to ask brands to stop selling to countries that require animal testing or to enter into new agreements that prohibit animal testing. I believe this is happening with some brands that do business with China for this very reason (i.e., consumers don't want to support animal testing and China doesn't want to lose access to these goods). But to your point, it's not a moral grey area. For example, if you pay a company tthat happens to have someone shoot dogs for them in another country, you're still responsible because you gave the company money, which they used to support their dog-shooting practices. Your dollar is your vote, so if you give your money to companies that test on animals, you're saying it's okay and that there are no economic incentives for them to stop testing on animals.

That one should be a no-brainer for any cosmetics company, IMO. As for Skinfluencer culture, I find it deplorable that there are people who know literally nothing about what they’re putting on their skin, but have access to great photography, makeup, lighting and filters, and tens of thousands of people LISTEN to these idiots. It’s mind-boggling. I’m happy to have found this channel. It’s so nice to have a Skinfluencer with a brain and standards! Keep it up!!! Hi Cass it doesn't work for me. I live in the UK (Scotland) and cereve appeared here a couple of years ago. I was excited to try it after seeing it everywhere in the beauty social media. I bought the hydrating cleanser, the night moisturiser and the large tub of cream. The cleanser is ok on me, but I like others far more. Both moisturisers really stung/burned on my skin of the face/neck/chest, although I used them up on the body under my richer eczema cream. I have both rosacea and eczema - so my skin is very dry and ultra sensitive. it REALLY doesn't work for me at all. Testing on animals for cosmetics has been banned in Europe for decades and before accessing social media re beauty products I hadn't realised it was still so commonplace tbh. I prefer to buy cruelty free, although I have had to decide not to let what China does influence my purchases - so many of the European brands I have used so successfully do sell in China. Many are taking advantage of the new workaround re testing and will be fully cruelty free very shortly though. I don't get the cereve hype tbh, as there are many many products/brands i like better. i often don't really get on well with hyped products though, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Best wishes.

Now I use it every night and every morning, and my skin doesn't bother me any more. I'm so happy with this video. For a second I thought it was going to a be a lot of hate for CeraVe but it was simple truth, just the CeraVe is formulated, no BS, no unnecessary anything. I myself have switched a lot of my skin care to CeraVe and it took a while for me to see changes I mean almost a year but man!!! I'm so happy I did. My skin has never been this good since I was a child perhaps I have eczema on my torso and legs (have not had a flare on my face yet thank God) but I am not scared, Thanks to CeraVe I was able to go through my retinization process, I feel safe and CeraVe has been a big player in that, I live in a country where sometimes is hard to find things like that, I can find Clinique, Dior etc but this other "Indie" brands, CeraVe, The Ordinary etc were not found at all! But now since I can why would I go back?

I started using Cera Ve in 2020 when I was on accutane and since I haven't dared using anything else. I've been suffering from acne for 10 years (Acne free for 1) and I still have that fear that anything could cause it to come back :')

I am right there with you! It's a perfectly fine product, but I refuse to purchase anything by a company that is still not cruelty free! I stopped buying L'Oreal products years ago. There are many products that are as good, if not better, that have better moral values as well. Thank you for bringing this up.

ive been trying to find info on this and apparently it depends on where you are. as of 2021 september they dont contain animal derived ingredients (some used to contain ingredients made from beeswax or wool) and in 1989 L’Oréal completely ceased testing its products on animals (claim made by brand) what many people label as misleading is the fact that they do say that theres exceptions by third parties where required by law, but i dont think thats misleading. in the us and eu products, theres been no animal testing

I prefer Eucerin to CeraVe... my "luxury" skin care isn't helping my dry skin, Eucerin has though. $11. Win win!
