The real reason to switch to full frame from MFT | Long Lens Podcast EP47 

I'm a GH5 RU-vidr owning the GH5 since it came out. I've never upgraded my camera since then. And I agree to 100% with you that for the price in 2024 the GH5 still does very very well. I just upgraded in lenses and got the trio of Sigma 1.4 lenses for M43 that I'm comparing to each other in my last video. So I'm not even thinking to upgrade to full frame at all. Until my GH5 runs I keep shooting with it until it might brakes. In that case, I would upgrade to a G9ii instead of an S5ii for many reasons.. I'm happy that my channel is doing so well thanks to my GH5, I just started posting videos last year and I'm about to hit my first 1000 Subs. I'm in love with the M43 system and I'm so used to that. My LUMIX s5ii really changed my videography and allowed me to level up so much from using my iPhone and Canon m50. One thing I don’t miss about using an iPhone is the storage capacity and transferring the footage to my computer. There is nothing like external SD cards and being able to use different lenses. One thing I was looking for was no record limit and an internal fan.

Rigging a MFT camera is way more cheaper. GH5II and GH6 are more advanced (leaving aside AF) that any budget FF camera. Weight, maneuverabilit (I do my own cinematography and plan to until I die), less rolling shutter, vast catalog of lenses, 4x3 sensor… Maybe low light, but if you pair your MFT with a Zhongyi Speedmaster T1.0 series lenses, everything will be fine. I see little advantages for moving to FF. Even if the next S series came out as the best camera on the world, it’s all about money (LUMIX quality is out of the question). If you are shooting with more than one unit, everything multiplies by 2 or 3 or whatever. Big lenses for big sensors costs a TON. Just a thought: the best B camera is the same as your A.

Kit lens - the aperture doesn’t closeup when you zoom. The aperture is the aperture. When you increase the focal length, the f-stop increases. Constant f stop lenses do it by putting the zoom elements in front of the aperture.

i still have my SEGA Game Gear and love it (well nostalgia...) maybe thats why i enjoy using those big "pocket" cameras... btw Leica has some aps-c cameras with the L-mount (TL) afaik thank you very much for posting on YT (i do exactly, as you explained while building my new 3D-Printer and don't have no podcast account anywhere :)

Thank you for answering my question! It is confirmation for me to move away from Mft and go full frame now after shooting for years on mft (started with the G7). I love my GH5 and its image quality but, the improved low light performance and auto focus of the Siix will allow me to shoot more projects!

stabilisation is really nice men; you can shoot vintage glass no problem, get that character, cheap price AND the hunt for the right lens that suits your style. Mine is fd 35-105 f3.5. It's sharp enough, got that style and even got macro mode on it for versatility. only cost 80 bucks and slapped it on the lumix s5 and I'm rockin'. at work I shoot with s5x and autofocus is still suck.

If you don't need unlimited recording, the Lumix G9 is a great cheap hybrid option. Prices have never been lower.

The BIG PROBLEM with phones is that they all, secretly record in Variable Frame Rate. You don’t discover this until you’re importing it into your NLE and finding audio sync problems etc

I don’t understand why people still talk about switching from this format to that format in 2024. Different tools for different purposes. I use both for my recreational purposes and works.

One of the reasons to use m4/3 is to save money, in which case I would not buy the lenses you mentioned for it.---- Best camera under $500? The GH5 at $500 to $700 still needs a lens. Again, it's not a $500 camera.

That's a 14-35mm f/2.0 made by Olympus for Four Thirds. You can get an adapter (MA or MMF) and you can use it, no prob with PDAF cameras.

I just listed my Sony gear on eBay. Pany S5ii is way better than anything from Sony. Unbeatable. Literally the only camera that beats the S5ii is the R5C for a LOT more Money and expensive lens choice - no third party lens.

I'm not gonna switch yet, ima get the g92 first then I'll switch down the rode...lens are so expensive for full frame even the cheap ones
