@@YoungJay5597 most times the mechanic won't work to much on his own things and just is tired of it. I did bought a car before 1/4 of the normal price becouse it was broken and he did not care and did not know what was wrong. Spent 1 and a half day in the garage and only spent 30 dollars in parts going trou everything and fixed it. Mechanics will just lose intrest in things they worked to much whit.

The most memorable ride was with my wife 50 years ago, we went for a Sunday ride along the Pacific Coast Hwy From Santa Monica CA to Oxnard CA and coming home on the Freeway to the San Diego Fwy from the San Fernando Valley, it was great along the coast but when we went inland to go home it was so hot about 105-110. We were both dying from the heat and came upon a Semi Truck and Trailer that was dripping what had to be ice water from the back of the trailer, so we stayed behind it for at least an hour before we got off the Freeway to make a pit stop at McDonalds, as we got off the bike we realized that the truck we had followed was indeed dripping ice water the other realization was that it had been a fish truck, as long as we were moving we couldn’t smell it but once we stopped OH Brother. 😂😂😂😂

Good idea to not follow a semi. A reefer trailer sometimes has produce and fresh fish covered in ice. Also, if a trailer tire blows it can be deadly for riders behind it.

Craziest motorcycle trip? In 2008 I gave away almost all of my stuff, sold my truck, and rode a 2006 Triumph Speed Triple from Lawrence, KS (right by KC) to Eugene, OR to move there. I rode just under 2000 miles in late September over 4 days with a backpack on that easily weighed 90 lbs. I adjusted the straps so the "passenger seat" held most of the weight of the pack and just made it happen. Never saw any rain, and had warm beautiful weather the whole way. It was one of the most amazing things I've ever done. Being from KS I had never had a chance to ride any truly amazing places like that. Through Kansas, Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, Idaho, and Oregon. I took a bunch of two lane highways. Truly epic...

If we can I hope to talk him into leaving FL to the 101 and taking it up to oregon, that way we hit all 4 corners.. First thing I noticed about the guy trying to bump-start it... He is throwing it into first. This is something you NEVER do. Bump it in second.... Also as another tip, have it in second and have the clutch held, when you are running it, and then just let go of the clutch. Its easy as pie - its something I have had to do many times over the years.

Couple of thoughts: 1 Next time you're trying to bump-start a bike with a known history of not running for a significant time and/or knows for being a fussy cold-starting bike, spray a generous blast of ether (quick-start) into air intake. Works almost every time. 2 I guess this bobber has an aftermarket engine (Victory? Harmon?) with seriously high compression and/or displacement which demands major CCAs (cold cranking amps) at start-up. If this was MY bike I would run 2 batteries on it, in series. Way more reliability. (Obviously they won't both fit under the seat. I'd find a really cool, creative spot for the 2nd batt.)

I spent a lot of years riding a fully chopped 52 panhead hardtail. I dearly loved that bike. I used to ride it all over the country. I was in the service then and they would not let me on base with it because it was chopped. I would drive it to the main gate and park it in a lot they had there and walk to the flightline to work. 3 years in a combat zone and I can not bring my bike on base because "custom bikes are very dangerous". The reality of riding a bike like that is you better know how to work on one because they will break down. The bikes today are so reliable. I put close to 80,000 miles on my sportster with my wife on back, we did not even own a car, and it has never been in a shop. I had to store it because of health reasons. But even more it's evidence of supernatural intervention because it wasn't and can't be misconstrued or mistranslated, if you've read it/studied it you'd know what I'm saying. Statistically it's perfect and the only text that takes place in future tense(38% of the text and counting down). And put a Push-Button Compression Release in each cylinder head! Push the button on top of each compression release before you hit the starter, and it will make it easier for the starter to crank the engine and as soon as the engine fires up, the compression releases will immediately pop closed! And it will save your starter too! I have them on my souped up Harley engine and they’ve been working great for years! Easy install, just drill & tap the hole, screw them in, torque them to spec and you’re done!

This is why guys used to build choppers with smaller powerplants, like the ironhead. Adding power isn't the point...stripping off weight and making it more reliable is supposed to be the point. The point of a kick-only bike is to eliminate the battery, and cutting back the pipes and fenders was to cut weight. That's what makes it quick, adding power adds weight and instability.

I know its a older video but hopefully you guys read this. I've built many a bike and high compression cars. Yes a good high torque starter helps big time but this is a good fix for this bikes concern. Install a kill switch. That way you can get the engine up to cranking speed before giving it ignition, This way the high compression and ignition fire isn't working against the battery and starter. Cool thing it makes for a real lowed first start.

Craziest trip: I lived in German for a few years for work and me and three buddies decided to take an Epic trip before we all left. Rode from southern Germany to France, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Italy and Slovenia. We hit a bunch of mountain passes on the trip that were just hairpin on hairpin on hairpin (including the stelvio pass). I was on a Yamaha FZ6 and wore through my rear tire within the first few days on the passes. My buddy on a Triumph Sprint broke his exhaust from a big random rock on the road that he narrowly avoided. My other buddy on a Honda ST1100 came out to flat tire one morning and his exhaust started falling apart, which we temp fixed with beer cans and zip ties. And finally the last guy who was on a Yamaha R1, the tail of his bike caught on fire at the very end of the trip burning up some of his clothes, an iPad, and melting the whole tail of his bike. But he was uninjured. Mountain passes, Alpine coasters, sights I'll probably never see again made this is a once in a lifetime trip. All in all, even with the mechanical failures it was the best trip.

This might not be my "craziest" bike trip... but a couple weeks ago I took a (borrowed) rigid minibike (rope start, lawnmower engine... no suspension, small tires) out on logging roads and riding trails in the mountains. Went through frozen mud puddles and snow, cased the thing a bunch of times on rocks, got a golf ball sized rock stuck in the chain, wore some holes in my riding boots and ended up getting a bit "turned around" (lost). Found our way out of the woods (I was riding with some friends, and they had faster bikes, so I followed them) and found ourselves at a town 7.5 miles away from the truck. God was looking out for me... I happened to have a friend in said town who drove us to get the truck. Since that ride I've been trying to get my (bored, stroked, cammed and with a supertrapp) 1979 Honda 185 fixed back up... that mini bike really helped me to appreciate my bike that much more, with its' suspension and full-size tires.

When starting a bike by pushing and popping the clutch, remember to put the bike in 2nd gear, not 1st if the bike allows you to do so. It greatly reduces the engine's resistance. Remember to put some Sea Foam or other fuel preservative and run it around to get it good and blended before fall sets in when people tend to ride far less through the winter. Make sure you ride it enough to work the Sea Foam through the whole fuel system and it will greatly reduce issues with the carburetor or fuel injectors.

There are bikes that you have and the bike that you want. Looking at upgrades with parts and labor, it can be a wish list kind of thing by the time you pull out your calculator. So I understand this guy's excitement when he saw the bike he wanted. I found my "dream" bike a few weeks ago. Obviously I would like a $25,000 bike but I found my REALISTIC dream bike and knew I had to have it. I am a Honda guy, started on a Shadow AERO 750, after 2 years and 27,000 miles later I sold it and upgraded to a VTX1300R. After less than a year I sold it, making an $800 profit, and saw a VTX1800N at a BMW dealership in Las Vegas (I'm in L.A.). It had the chrome meat hook ape hangers that I always wanted to have on my previous bikes, has Cobra dual exhaust drag pipes, a batwing with Bluetooth stereo with 4 Polk speakers, has a 1300 final drive and it even has an airbag suspension. Plus only 13K miles. It's pretty sweet. Even has a custom candy apple red paintjob. I always thank SRK for teaching me in the videos and steering me towards a bike that best suits me.

I bought my wife and I both our first bikes in the middle of February ( this year). We leave the dealership with the guy saying both bikes just had an oil change, differential oil changed and all gassed up.it was just around 7 pm when we left. Our house was 35 miles away. As first time riders we were way under dressed for 17° weather. 7 miles down the road we pull over to hold each other just to warm up. Lol. We both get back on our bikes and just about then my bike dies. Cannot get it started for nothing. Call the dealership and they put me on hold to figure out how long it's going to take to get a trailer out to me. The guy get back on the phone and says "hey do me a favor and switch over to reserve and see what happens". Well it fired right up. Her bike got filled with gas but mine was forgotten. 17° 35 mile trip with crappy winter gear turned into a 3.5 hour trip. I would say that story will be talked about between us till death do us part. The dealership hooked me up with a free first service for the inconvenience.

Made my day, when a bunch of guys on Harleys toured alongside me. Still, have the triple and she still runs like a dream, but at 18mpg it’ll never be a touring machine 😊
