I love mexico, best years of my life were there, I've always used mexico for healing, for freedom, for being my authentic self, for enjoying life, for listening and meeting the true spirit of Gaia/Earth, her heart, for connecting with my ancestry, family, mesoamerican heritage, culture, it has everything for everyone, a true blessed land, a place ill cherish always. The variety is immense, if you like the beach, you have plenty, you like colonial magic towns, they're everywhere, you like a spiritual city even a UFO city with plenty of sightings, you got Tepoztlan, you want a modern city, a crafty artisan city, there are many, too, every like, style, mexico has it.
@JoseArteagaTravels I liked Guadaljaha because we had Doctors offices within walking distance. A park, walks, restaurants, coffee house, even had supermarket Giganta, Brizlan Stake house. Bus runs every 10 minutes if you want go some were.
I'll take this even FURTHER.... Many would say it's the TOXIC social environment in the U.S.. There seems a sense of hostile feeling in many cities and states between communities.... You can Blame politics or social backgrounds, but people in Mexico make an effort to live a life filled with harmony... I will say people are CONCERNED about the Americans bringing their influences and injected it in Mexican society.... All in Time...
Yes you are 100% right. That entitled and all around horrible attitude is one thing no other country wants to see exported to their own. Thanks for sharing!
Let hope the US immigrants to Mexico to will learn from Mexican culture instead of trying to change it. 130 million Mexicans vs 1 million US immigrants ...the numbers are stacked against the US immigrants. Most don't even speak Spanish so hopefully that will minimize their influence even further. Let's hope for the best!!! Viva Mexico 🇲🇽!
You're not lying, I went to buy land in the US where there is a dirt road and the county told me no RV, no camping, no motor home, they only allow 90 days of paid camping.😆😆😅😅🤣🛖🛖🛖.Be careful buying land in some states the desert is better😢😢
I like Guadalajara but it’s way too busy for me. I wouldn’t mind living there but not crazy about it. I rather live in smaller towns or pueblos like Tepatitlan.
Can't wait to finish with the sale of my house and go back to Mexico. Glad I just went ahead and got permanent residency since it just gets more expensive to do so. Spent time in Oaxaca last trip and definitely agree with the sense of freedom you have. Unless you're a criminal, which I am not, you are left totally alone to just live and do your thing. When I am in Mexico my heart is lighter. Your comments on self-governing - YES. So sick of the mindset in the States that government bodies dictate everything that one can and cannot do even when it makes NO SENSE. I am pretty much done.
Yes!!! All the same reasons to leave Canada for Mexico. And it’s much warmer in the winter! We love Baja but are thinking yo explore the Yucatan as Southern Baja is getting expensive. Also would like to check out the east coast. Any recommendations for out of the way places? We are not partiers or drinkers so prefer quiet and nature. Thx!
Tons of great places out there just depends on your heat tolerance and the type of environment you are looking for. My advice to you is to research different spots, and go visit them and then just decide on what best fits and works for you.
They should not complain that Americans are moving to Mexico. They have done the same to the United States, and have changed our culture so extensively, that everything is translated into Spanish.
Mexico still cheap The problem is that many Americans are moving very much the same cities and that is making those cut more expensive There are thousands of cities and towns that have not been explored
Mexico still has way more freedom. Better climate. Nice people. I am happy Mexico is doing well economically. And immigrants bring in more resources. Most just stay in their bubble with other immigrants. I bought a big forest in 2004. And it is still possible to get land and live off grid in Mexico, while the USA makes it illegal to live off-grid.
This is some of your best work brother! I REALLY enjoyed hearing about the decentralized nature of local economies in Mexico! My family and I are taking another trip to Mexico later this month!
Yes. It is really apparent when moving to a small town. Medical care can be an issue some areas of the US. If you live in a larger city it generally isn't much of a problem. But you get away from a large metropolitan area medical care choices can become limited. Don't even talk about the cost for medical and dental care. If you don't have insurance you will need to be truly rich to get good medical care. There are even doctors who cater to rich people.
Grand slam video Again you hit this one out of the park. I’ve been going back and forth to Mexico for 6 years. You know why they’re moving to Mexico ? Because of your videos. Your 6 years of experience plus your experiences in USA say it all. You are the best narrator I’ve heard. Full of experience, info. You are the man. You are up to date on things. You know the pulse of the people. I bought a shirt from your channel- I digress 👍🇲🇽
That is awesome! Muchas Gracias for your kind words! Makes me very happy to hear I have been able to help out so many people such as yourself! Hope you enjoy the T-Shirt! Saludos y Viva Mexico!
Mexico is 90% or more FAMILY oriented.... family is the strength and building block of any nation. LOVE Mexico. In QRO now. Hard to assimilate? No. Much better society. I feel much safer in MX also. Agree the cops in Mexico are amazing, down to earth, easy to speak to normal people.
I am building a custom home within a master-planned guard-gated community in Mexico surrounded by pine forests and beautiful mountains ⛰️ - I could have never done that in the US on my salary - I still love California and it will always be home but I think I made a great decision. I don't know if it will be permanent because I'll miss my American suburban lifestyle but I do totally hit the jackpot on this one.
I lived in Mexico City as a teen. My father worked their as an American engineer in the petrochemical business. As a teen it was paradise. We went camping, horseback riding and caving all the time. And I tell you those three experiences were so surreal. The rolling hills, countryside, mountains and jungle are out of this world. I was a Mexican scout too. Best of all are the Mexican people. The best friends I ever had... the most caring, friendly and cool folks to be around with what ever you are doing.
$0-Close to $0 rent? Not a bad video, but, really comes off like it’s shot from mom’s basement with no actual life experience. Great research, but, no character at all.
How did you guess? How were you able to know that i filmed this in my moms basement? You have a real keen eye for this sort of stuff! Well done! Thank you so much for your kind words! 😅
Jose thanks for your video. US is very violent and confrontational. I'm not talking just about getting attacked or robbed at gunpoint. People in the US confront strangers. People in the US are very aggressive about differences of opinions with strangers. Most people in the USA believe everyone they meet is wrong and wishes them ill. In Mexico, most of the people involved in crime have specific goals that don't have anything to do with a person living their life. the average person in Mexico has been trained schooled from birth to show respect to all people. I have never experienced the level of convenience that I have in Mexico City. We have three doctors within 3 blocks. 2 dentists a large JCPenney or Kohls type department store. 2 local small grocery stores. 3 barbers. 2 shoe shine access. Walmart 4 blocks away. Its like a small town but where I live the selection is huge.
Well said the US is not the country we were raised in. Everyone just always seems so angry. It is a very sad state of affairs. The complete opposite of living in Mexico. Things are just so much more civilized out here. Thanks for sharing! Viva Mexico!
I just bought lots of land in front of the ocean, beautiful place. Impossible to do that in US . I will retire early in 4 years. Can't wait to have all grand kids spending Sumner time with me in Mexico.
You're right, and it's sad, America is a beautiful place, some of the best weather and scenery in the world. But the culture and especially the government are needlessly dragging it down And guess what, if more Americans leave America, they might take their bad habits and beliefs to a country like Mexico that at least has a more positive culture and worldview. America needs to change its attitude and value what it is and what it has, but the country is culturally gridlocked at the moment
I feel i have gotten very good rent because i speak spanish my landlord told me he wouldnt rent to anyone who didnt speak Spanish well as he knows zero English and doesnt want to struggle to communicate regularly.
A lot of Americans are moving to Mexico for cheaper cost of living, nice people, freedom, little to no road rage, weapon violence unrelated to citizens, getting into little to no fender benders, Little to no paperwork to work for someone, less materialistic, less processed food.
Hello there!! Your video its the most accurate that have ever heard, you're absolutely right . I always have said just by moving or relocating to another place or country its an emotional stressful experience, for all the things are going on in the world now days it really worth to take the chance in looking for a better place to live, for you or your family, like always have said dont make a spontaneous move, investigate, get informed through your friends, videos or visiting, stay for a couple weeks, look around and than make a plan. The most important issue to deal with, definitely its your mentality, your willingness, your attitude to accept a new reality and you'll be fine, small cities or towns its the best.
Thank you for your kind words! Happy to hear you enjoyed the video so much! In the end no decision is easy, but not making one is also a decision. Thanks for sharing!
I bought a depa in Roma Norte in Mexico City, before the post-pandemia bubble. Been here well over 10 years and I love it. But if I was looking to move to Mexico today I would probably look elsewhere in Mexico City. If I was not married, I would probably explore Veracruz, the coffee region around Orizaba. I am not looking for Disneyland Mexico.
Yeah I have never been to Mexico but one of my best friends is Mexican American and he has been wanting me to go to Mexico with him someday to just see how beautiful the country is. One of these days I will go. I have lived in the UAE and the US and the police in the UAE are some of the nicest police that I have ever met. But when I lived in the US the police were always rude. When I was living in the US when I was 18 one of my neighbors called the police on me just for walking in my own neighborhood he thought I didn't live there and thought I was doing something suspicious because I had a beard and was wearing a hoody. I had to literally show the police where my house was,I have never had that issue in Egypt and the UAE that has never happened. In both Egypt and the UAEthe police are very welcoming and kind.
The police in the US are some of the most dangerous in the world but yet you tell that to an American and they think you are nutz. I think you will really love Mexico, hope you get to visit it someday. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for your video. Most people don't know but urban planning or urbanism, zoning code imare the main factors for a better life. See Strong Towns or CNU or RU-vid Bot just bikes.
Food is NOT better in the US, neither is health care. Life is not better when you fear your government. Born and raised here I never dreamed I would say those words. Combined with the division and toxic culture I do not expect things to improve. Thank you for your videos. Great info.
there is more Freedom... It sounds like simple, like non-important, But it's being said over and over... And the answer is still there for the awoke... Remember that you have a wave to pay, Why is Mexico still awake because we are actually creating we are awoke and we are truly free "Amo el canto del Cenzontle "...
You may have a pretty good lifestyle in some medium to large cities of Mexico with a decent income. There is no sense of crime or insecurity, and best of all is the bond you build with friends and family. I grew up in Durango and I miss the city a lot. I now live in Spain but it has nothing to envy Mexico.
Thank you for sharing with us! I totally agree Mexico has nothing to envy when it pertains to life in other countries. If only more Mexicans would be more aware of how awesome they truly have it here and how bad things have gotten everywhere else. All in due time I guess. Viva Mexico!
Gorgeous city. Nice to that you got out of Merida to see gorgeous places. I agree with you completely on a lot of points. Things go south WHEN Mexicans try to “westernize” things. It’s not perfect here, but I love my paradise in Merida.
This people are making so hard for locals driving real state prices up 😞, is fu$& uk up, this people don’t earn on American dollars I feel sorry for them
I agree you can live cheap in the US but its not going to be the most exciting life. I moved to rural Illinois i pay 625 a month for rent but it is 28 min to nearest medium size town to shop.we do have a bar gas station and dollar genral though and i also commute 1 hour each way to work everyday
I have a one-way flight to CDMX on the 22nd of June. It’s as expensive as where I currently live. I don’t want to drive anymore, I don’t relate to most Americans, I’m relatively wealthy but live a broke life and some of my friends don’t like it, I love the food in MX, I’m bored with the US, I love that when I’m in MX no one is in my face, and the list goes on.
Beautiful scenery and amazing video!!! Your views are about to explode with that title and that footage. It shows the undeniable beauty of Mexico. Is this Merida or GDL?
I loved GDL when I visited for the first time last year, it as a nice surprise. I'm planning a remote work scouting trip there now...gonna spend a week there to see if that is where I want to make my jump to first when I leave the US.
Very good video especially about how kids can be educated how their parents wish without interference from the state. I’ve subscribed to explore more of your videos, thanks
Beautiful landscapes, beaches, it’s people, weather wise nice temperatures year around, property taxes very low, very much organic food , to name a few reasons, I do have plenty more but that is personal
great video jose Im 22 and mexican american and i plan to one day retire in Mexico Im looking into cities like guanajuato Taxco or san miguel de allende Mexico is really beautiful and the social life is better
After being here 3 weeks, I’m returning to Colorado next week. I feel rejuvenated but also at a bit of a loss. What life am I returning to? Why do I feel like I belong jere
At least now while back in Colorado you will have a goal set in mind and have something to look forward too now that you have found out that there is a better life for you waiting in Mexico. Good luck with everything!
Great topic, talking to my next door neighbor a while ago and I did ask him that particular question, he laghuly answers..." well properties are cheap, food and restaurants are cheap, but the truth is that even accepting the fact that we don't like mexicans, they are humble and good people so we have to take advantage of all that you know soon we are going to own most of the real state in Mexico and capitalise on that, just like when our ancestors arrive on the Mayflower " in my mind I was like WTF!
I'm willing to bet that guy won't last too long out here in Mexico thinking like that. Sounds like the type of entitled American many Mexicans wish would stay home in the good old US of A
Thanks for the informative video. My daughter and I are planning our first visit hopefully soon. I love smaller town life and cooler temps, could you give us some tips on areas to visit. I could see myself possibly moving in a couple of years and it would be nice to have some areas recommended. we do love nice beaches and shopping as well, so areas not far from the beaches would be great as well....( ofcourse we are researching .) thanks!!!!
You should check out the state Oaxaca. They have tons of beautiful beach towns and the weather is cooler than it would be here in the Yucatan. Thing is if you want cool weather, then you wont have beaches near-by and vice versa, if you are on the beach it won't be as cool as up in the mountains. If you want cooler temps on the beach it might be best to check out an area like Oregon or Maine
very strange reasoning about the police, based on one or two cases. Ask locals about the police, most will answer that they are afraid and do not trust them. Also you didn’t mention the murders in broad daylight in a cafe in Guadalajara, yes, these are drug fights, but they do happen. Speaking of food at school, it’s all sugar and fat, there’s nothing healthy there. And etc y etc ... I understand that you want to get more views with these video titles but everything you say is very subjective.
I agree with you I am generalizing about life in Mexico and life in the USA. I know that Many Mexicans are afraid of the police in Mexico, most of it has to do with how they treat and extort people. But even with that said the police in the USA are much much worse in my opinion simply because they have zero accountability there. I would much rather deal with a corrupt cop in Mexico than a corrupt cop in the USA. As for the food I agree with you there as well there is plenty of junk food here in Mexico, but even the junk food here is healthier than the junk food in the USA. With that said the typical Mexican has a much healthier diet because it is more accesible to do so here than in the USA. As for crime in broad daylight, again I acknowledge in many other videos how of course it happens here as well, but when you are going through the actual numbers there is a lot more violence on civilians in the USA than there is in Mexico. Again no place is truly perfect, some people prefer to live in the USA and others in Mexico. Thank you for sharing
Hello José, I'm a curious case, mexican guy who migrate to US more than 20 years ago and willing to go back to live my retirement in my born country (in fact I'm looking to find a house in Merida). My reasons to go back are diverse, but the main reason is that I miss so mucho the human contact that doesn't exist in US. My wife just visited me (she lives in Mexico City) and driving through the neighborhood I live in here Houston TX, she asked me: Where are the people ? That question made me think a lot on how the system works here, and how it works down there. Living in Mexico, and I'm not talking about the rich or super rich mexican neighborhoods, which are pretty much the same than a US neighborhood. I realized what I've been missing for so many years. Real human contact, that one that makes you feel a living part of a society and not only as a part of the production system and the illusion of the great life in a more advanced and every day more and more dehumanized society. I love my adoptive country and the ideals it is based and sustain on, but we have lost our sense of humanity and this is turning our society in a mechanical madness. Jose, thank you for your channel, if I can be of any help to anybody, who wants to relocate, I'm also 100% Spanish fluent, just shut me a message. Have a great weekend.
Very well said. You made a really good point about the difference in society between both countries. That is one of the main reasons I love Mexico so much! It is a humanizing place, whereas the US is more of a dehumanizing place these days. Thanks for sharing! Viva Mexico!
You should check out some of the Local Facebook Expat groups in the area and ask around there and go with the one with the best word of mouth from others who have used them. Good luck with everything!
Not quite sure what you mean by restrictions. i would contact a reputable Real Estate Lawyer such as Jose Novelo for more information. I know tons of Americans who own property on the beach. It can be done
@@DandMtravelthere are no restrictions regarding campers or RVs in Mexico..unless you live in the privadas, that’s what I call asking for rules and regulations…that would be living with anHOA, don’t do that. The beauty of this country is the freedom. RV away and come down.
Let's be honest. Mexico's main competitve advantage over many other places is its somewhat lower cost of living compared to the U.S. and Canada and the fact that it is next-door; it is conveniently located, as it were. But the neighbor to the south is quickly running out of water and electricity. Over 70% of the Mexican territory is under severe drought and the incessant heat is causing extended power outages in many parts of the country.
The Drought has been mainly caused by 2 years in a row of a dry El Niño weather pattern. Hopefully the rain is right around the corner, nothing anyone can do about that. As for the electrical grid yes you are right it is having trouble keeping up with demand. Not only because of the intense Heat but also due to the intense growth and demand of more electricity. At least in Mexico they are building more of the grid out to help keep up with demand. In the USA there are also water problems and electrical problems and other infrastructure problems and no one sees any improvement to any of it anytime soon. Both countries are going in opposite directions.. Thank you for sharing
The culture shock that I have experienced has been with regard to food. Especially in Guadalajara. Where are the little donkeys? No burritos! Well you can get a burrito in Juarez. What the heck is going on with lettuce in my Pozole? Why is the food have a lack of spice? I need to go to Chicago to get Mexican food that I am used to.
Jaja yes the Mexican food in Mexico is much different than what we are used to in the USA also the food from all around the country of Mexico is totally different. The food in the Yucatan is nothing like it is in Jalisco or Oaxaca or Baja. I love the variety and seeing how each region does things. Viva Mexico!
@@JoseArteagaTravels I do like the shrimp and cheese molcajete that they serve in the umbrella restaurant in Centro. You passed by the restaurant in your video. Just outside the Cathedral. I just ate at Los Sombrillos restaurante last month.
You sound like me after I moved to GDL. 😂😂 I kept saying, this isn't México!! It is another country found within a country. I get it!! Great food at the Mercado de Abastos, Tlaquepaque is closer to the México I know, and forget ever finding a burrito... I would pay $20 for carne asada 🌯🌯 loaded with all the fixings.
Lettuce in pozole? I've never seen that in any state I've visited or lived in in nexico. I've only had it with cabbage. And lack of spice? I've never experienced that either, it's always pure in flavor and very well spiced. If I want more spice, I add all the condiments to it, salsas, etc. Burritos are from the northern part of mexico where they were invented, but found in central regions, too.
@@jj-bp3fr My family is from Zacatecas and Michoacán. They think nothing of adding massive amounts of chiles 🌶️ to all their food. We start out at blistering and work our way to volcano from there. The first time I had pozole in Guadalajara it was white, almost like chicken soup and the meats came on the side with a generous portion of lettuce. For my wife, this is normal. I just find the food in Guadalajara quite bland compared to how my family cooks.
José, I just saw a youtube video from @MarkBeshae saying Mexico has /is deporting Americans ??? 7000! bc they don't have proper residency. And, I haven't even made it down there yet 🤢
That is not true at all. In fact it is just fake information that is being spread through the internet at the moment. When I first heard this news from another channel I quickly went to do some research on the the topic only to quickly find out that is was not true at all. If it were true we would be seeing a lot more information on this through Actual News Media Outlets. Only thing I can really say about this is that we are in an election year and the actual election is next Sunday and that is what is causing all kinds of misleading info out there. Again if you just do some quick research on it you will see it is not true at all and when you go deeper into the research you actually find out the complete oposite is true. There is no mass deportation of any Americans or anything like that. I would not worry one tiny bit about it if I were you. In fact I would question the channels that are spreading this news and why they would be doing so to begin with.
Anywhere you go in the world you should do it legally. It's easy to get documentation to not be fined or deported. If someone gets deported it not random, it's for a legitimate reason such as not having proper residency and if you don't have it you should get it.
