The title is misleading. Half-Japanese kids educated in Japan are just fine because they have native fluency and mannerism. In fact, there are many famous half-Filipino celebrities like HAYAMI Mokomichi, AKIMOTO Sayaka, or TAKAHASHI Maryjune. But if you were raised overseas and don't have proper Japanese education, cultural upbringing, or mannerism...being half-Japanese has no impact on how you're seen in Japan. We can instinctively tell from facial expressions, gestures, mannerism, fashion, or make-up who's native and who's not. I once heard that Japanese counter-intelligence can identify a Chinese, Korean or Japanese person...just by how he/she walks.
