The reason why dating in our 20's hard + why I've never been in a relationship 

As someone who is turning 24 next month , with little experience interacting with men and been on literally one date, this is not what I thought would happen when I was younger LOL. Also part 2 to this pls!

We were taught as women to go out into the world first and build a foundation for ourselves, before you enter a relationship. I am 27, and I am told that I am very attractive, but I also have never been in a relationship, and that is by choice. When I tell people that, they also say the things that you said in this video. Apparently it is considered weird if you decide to work on yourself first before entering the dating pool, or if you just don't feel like being with someone, just to no be alone. I find that very strange, like why is it that a lot of people seem to find it so difficult to not be in a relationship all the time? I do not enjoy the hookup culture, I am also not super religious so that is not why I don't date, I just preffer to really get to know people before even considering something romantic, and to me that translates into cultivating a friendship with that person for a few months and see if we get along well or not, if our values are at least somewhat similar, see how they treat other people, what are they lifestyle habits, how are their friends like, how their family dinamic is like, what are their goals for the future, etc. You don't need to jump into a romantic relationship to get to now someone, much less get involved with sexual intimacy. If a person really wants to get to know you for you, immediate dating or sex are not a necessity. And if they are not interested in being friends first, once the crazy sex drive at the begining starts to fade what do you have left? Mutual respect, admiration, partnership and friendship and the foundation of every long lasting HEALTHY relationship. If you don't see any signs of that in the begining, chances are that person is just horny 😐 and not that into you. That is why I find that working on yourself first is so important. When you get to the bottom of you insecurities, maybe past traumas, and learn more about yourself, more about people and more about dating, you are much more likely to make better decisions for your love life. Have you ever stoped to think that for every aspect of our lives we go through some sort of training? Like school or online courses of guide books or something? But when it comes to people and relationships that not the case? I find that very strange, and in my case I choose to study and go to therapy to talk about human behaviour, and what healthy conversations, relationship and boundaries look like, because I didn't grow up seeing those. And if that makes me a strange person... Well, I guess I don't mind that. There is no rush for me. =) Apologies for any mistakes, English is not my first language.

in america, your 20's is considered a period where you are finding yourself.. but in most cultures around the world, ppl are getting married and starting their families in their 20s

First of all - I love your content Lisa! And second of all, As a 21-year-old (and still in college) I've never been in a relationship and even my own friends get shocked when they remember. I feel like I'm more focused on certain things, building myself and focusing more on building my career life. I'm not gonna act like I can't meet people in the spaces that match my interests, but a lot of men around me are not having the same mindset of healing and self-introspection that I feel I do. Well that, and the ones who do aren't trying to be in serious commitments. The conversation one really resonates with me cause I really care about telling the truth to other people and also to myself, whether I'm right or wrong, or anything, and I've learned that not everyone will try to play fair even if you do.

I am 22 and the last time i had a boyfriend was when i was 16 and it lasted less than a month. I only had 2 boyfriends and they both didn’t like me. The first one was into me for sexual stuff and the other one… he would tell me stuff like “you may not be the prettiest girl but it’s fine” or “your legs look like ronaldo’s” and i cried for a year after this man bc i wanted him back. Anyways, i had 2 boyfriends but i now realize i was actually never liked. In these 5 years, there wasn’t a single boy that hit on me or i went on a date with or flirted. First time i had a chrush after 4 years was last february. I didn’t know the guy but we were taking the same class. I had an obsession about him and that he was the one even tho we never talked. We followed eachother on insta and i thought for some reason that he had a chrush on me as well. Nope. He likes my friend’s story but never did that to me. Basically i was delulu. And i dreamt about this boy for A YEAR. These videos are always about “i never had a boyfriend because i don’t want to and i am super happy being single” and i don’t relate to that at all. I want someone in my life so badly but it just never happens. Even worse when your closest friends have what you desire the most and you have to act as if you were super excited for them. I’m about to be 25 and haven’t had anything long term. I’ve learned its so much more to dating and finding someone you’re interested in. You have to date for compatibility and if you guys are actually in alignment with each other. Its not something that can be forced either. If you’re not chasing men and letting things happen organically, continue that! I used to feel so bad for my lack of experience but the dating pool and our men selection is so not good in this generation.

I’ve only had one relationship from when I was 18-20. It was a pretty bad breakup and the guy I dated made subtle jabs at my weight (had nicknames that were supposed to be “endearing”). Also loved my short hair apparently, but would make jokes when I got a haircut or told me to take off my headband bc I had a big forehead. Sure, I know they’re jokes, but it’s just a combination of things. Also, when he broke up with me, he asked to have fwb with me. It lasted for four months and I almost moved in with him.😂I’ve actually heard multiple times that it is narcissistic for someone to ask you to have a situationship right after they breakup up with you. Anyways, I’m 24 now and I’m kind of relieved to be single for 4 years. I did a dating app for two days, bc my ex was talking to this girl around the time we broke up.😂It’s definitely forced and I didn’t do it for the right reasons, ofc. The guy was also telling me what to eat and that I could only drink liquids during the day. I was losing weight, but started binge eating again after the breakup. Gained 60-70lbs over a year. Three years later, I’ve lost 61 lbs sustainably and not to please someone. No longer have fatty liver and I enjoy going to the gym five days a week. I still want to have a relationship, but I won’t force it and I don’t have extreme standards, but I think it’s good if everyone does have some kind of standards. If I’m single for the rest of my life, at least I’ve been going for what I enjoy.

Im 22, coming up on 23 next to zero dating experience. I was once invited to a winter formal, and that's it. I play way too many games to have actual interactions with people, which makes socializing difficult. I know this video isn't for me. I understand that. And I can only speak from another avenue entirely. I've been isolated until I was 23 from 12 years old. I have zero experience with not just females, but people. In general. From the outside looking in, it just seems like a certain amount of initial disconnect. I see all these gorgeous women being single...and taking pride in it. and I'm realizing that... Since this is the case, especially at 24, my chances to find a relationship seems...almost 0. And that's me. I've accepted that only some people find love, not most. People are not talking about how they feel. My advice (from a situationship standpoint) is not to accuse someone of something. If you do that, they feel attacked and can become defensive or even aggressive. Instead say "when this happened, i felt this way, i feel like it is a justified feeling reaction to that situation"

When I was 10 years old when I first long term girlfriend..we lasted 5 years. My second relationship was when I was 16 years old and I was with her off and on for years. Your Prime Attractive YEARS for Dating last two decades. For us men we dont get into our prime until 30 years old and that last for two decades. Women prime years starts much younger and ends about 30. A womans prime at what ever age grown men start approaching her, an it last for 20 years after that. But location can be a factor of why dating is hard, if your in a small hick town, an you dont have popularity or your not exceedingly beautiful it may be difficult. But most places where the population is 100K or more you shouldnt have any issues. But some think because of race dominance its an issue. You just need to learn to fit in and adapt. I am black guy, the way i was raised ie i was forced to read books by my dad as a kid, he made me go to library and made me read every night as i got older it just became a habit that stuck so my vocabulary was expanded even in 3rd grade. i had been speaking proper english since 1st grade because even though my peoples were black they worked professional jobs and just spoke white. So going to a school which was 60% black and 40% white. I had mostly biracial girls and non black girls flirting with me and approaching me But most darker skin black girls wasnt feeling or always rejected me if i approached them i am light carmel complexion black guy back then had a six pack and had a car at 16, i had to learn how have to swagga and edge and speak slang and stop talking white. Because doing so made me sound soft or weak. Sistas are more attracted to thuggish or roughneck type. So until i changed my persona and learn to run game like a playa, i didnt attract sistas. Sometimes its you, your just not compatible for the men or women you want. i had desire for darker skin girls, since thats who i lost my virginity too, But the only black chicks checking for me where chicks who looked like Alicia Keyes or Mariah Carey. A grown woman hip me to game and told me what to change if i didnt want to be a becky magnet. its funny hearing guys talking about dating interracially to me that doesnt take much effort to do that, just be yourself. But dating women of my own race was a challenge and game i learn to play. i tell women all the time if your under the age of 29 you shouldnt have a hard time with men certain things could hinder you like. - Your over weight (just follow the BMI as close as possible) Some folks say the BMI is based off white males. We why would any woman want to weigh more than white male her same height??? - Your too glamourous: Make up, weave, eye lashes is turn off for us brothers. i know men of man different races none of them care that either. When i see a beat face to the gods or long weave its a red flag. i prefer natural hair to be honest. - Your attitude or personality is giving mean girl, prude, difficult, or selfish bratty vibes. These are turn offs to men because we men intial dating strategy is for SEX and after we become open to love. - How you dress: You need some sex appeal, show so skin, You dont have to walk around in fishnet stockings and garder belts or look like a street walker. But you should look somewhat sexy. I told a friend of mines she is like 129lbs and she dresses like her 45 year old mother. i said you have the body most girls dream of. You shoud dress like your still only 18. Because you can you got the body for it. Stop trying to dress all professional and business casual we as men hate it. Why do you think when your all dolled up and dress is your best outfit that only women compliment you. But when you put on some leggings, a halter top with your belly showing, an put your hair in pony tail thats when all men seem to approach you, its because you look more feminine to our male gaze. Looking like a professional woman turns on the female gaze,. thats why i tell guys to wear suits or uniforms beacause it attracts female. When i go to the store sometimes i wear fitted khakis and tuck in polo shirt for that reason... But if your having a hard time attracting men you want, get into the psychology of it. Asked a guy who has no interest in you maybe already in a relationship with someone you know. Asked them to help you on why men dont want to date you or dont approach you. Because theres no reason you shouldnt have had a relationship ever. Your very attractive wish u was my girlfriend
