Welcome to The Reef Life with Dutch Reefer! This time around it's time for something completely different. I chose to break down my old two tanks and start a new adventure with a brand new Red Sea REEFER 425 XL G2. In these video's I will be showing you my progress, deep dives into interesting reef related subjects and more.

Tank looks excellent all corals have grown since I last seen them. Beautiful little Angelfish and ths Cooperband by tmrrw won't even look at him. 🐟💜

Haha yeah I do like them A LOT but somehow I feel they can wreck stuff easily :P

@@DutchReefer so long as they got food and a decent sized tank thell be fine hell you can put them with mantis shrimp with low chance of them killing them. Yes a couple will get wacked 1 might die but its funny to watch it stop completely when it opens up and makes a disco of light.

Stunning - they are hard to acclimate when wild. Keep an eye on it though as I suspect captive bred are more inclined to start nipping. Reef Bum had a captive regal go to town even on acros and I have a multibar anglefish also start eating some LPS and then nipping at my acropora. I can't wait to see how it goes because its hard to get information on these captive breds and if they are reef safe.

Funnily enough when I added my tiny captive regal he didn't get along with my copperband either, except it was the other way around and the regal went after the coopperband despite being a quarter the size lol such an amazing fish though. Getting to see them transition to their adult coloration is super cool, I swear every other day he had different colors and patterns.

Haha well that's actually very interesting to hear, somehow they don't appreciate each other then from the get go. Luckily everything has settled down and they get along fine now! And yeah agreed, I can see it developing day by day, VERY cool to watch!!

It will continue. The tail looks pretty bad on the angel fish. You should place the Butterfly fish in quarantine for a week. While the angel fish get acclimated to the new tank and mates. Then see what happens since the angelfish is a bit more expensive than the copperband

Luckily in hindsight I can say that it didn't continue. I agree it looked pretty bad but the day after the Copperband had already calmed down a lot. Now, they don't even notice each other when they swim by. You can see in my latest video :)
