I like that matt was making it clear that Victor's living situation was getting worse. Like he was trying to encourage percy to hire victor and take him back to whitestone.
That would actually have been really interesting to see but to be honest I think Whitestone's had enough problems without a crazy old man filling up a house with enough high explosives to give Thordak a very severe tummy ache, pleus I think Percy might have a bit of trouble explaining to Cassandra why he's a good addition to the town.
“Vex?” “Yes?” “250 gold if you’d be so kind” “That much?” “I’m going to make you something lovely” “I love you” God they’re so good at this. Victor steals the show here but this interaction is fabulous
It always lows my mind that Matt voices literally hundreds of characters in this campaign...and you can always tell within three syllables which character he's playing. Astounding actor
Well, if I'm not mistaken, all these players are professional voice actors. So it would be kind of concerning if they weren't good at playing a wide range of characters.
The Victor character could easily be one of the most memorable NPCs of this entire show so far. They should make a t-shirt just for Victor's black powder store. A brown t-shirt with black powder stains all over it would be about right. Add a black hand print with 3 fingers to add character. :-D
Apart from making me cry from laughter, how genious was reference to Ripley!? You could see the group's whole demeanor suddenly change, and despite the hilarity of the scene, you could feel the plot train going CHOO CHOO in the distance.
And yet they missed the hint about her 'paying well', but it was incredibly subtitle too tho. Apparently so subtle they removed it from the animated show.
I have watched this so many times and I just now noticed Sam taking a picture of Matt during the "NO!" moment. OMG! It just now dawned on me what Ripley used all the black powder for! It's been awhile since I watched campaign 1 so perhaps I knew it at the time but I completely forgot!
this is classic Critical Role too funny for 3 in the morning. The only problem is now the D&D group I DM want me to create an equal memorable Black powder merchant for our games
Yes that is a side effect of being compared to a god. just be glad none of your group want to play as a half Banshee Paladin (Which of course means i had to home brew a half banshee playable race). only time will tell if i've made the race too powerful.
as much as i love victor and Matt is a FUCKING GENIUS when it comes to NPCs. A question to the Fandom. Im missing a few episodes in the middle (a good chunk of the 20s) of this series that I'm trying to catch back up on.... But who did Victor see? Who was the lady that bought the black powder? Lady Kima?
+finialwing007 that's the mystery! we don't know yet. i'm sure people have been speculating but i for one haven't heard anything. perhaps it'll end up being a new arc!
@@myabella7104 it wasn't detailed on the stream. Matt said it after the campaign ended that one of the explosions the group hears during the fight with Vecna is Victor blowing himself and some cultists up after he trapped his shop.
