I went on that show.. he had us all in his dressing room after signing autographs.. fortunately there were other adults present.. and I'm not an 11 year old girl.. or a dead body.
Some extra detail for anyone in the USA who cares...In reference to 'Munchies', Karl is actually talking to a specific kind of candy in the UK. It is a packet of several squares of chocolate with biscuit and caramel in the middle. For the global market, the animators must have decided to make the 'Munchies' in question more generic as munchies in America (and other countries) usually refers to more of a variety of different snacks - usually enjoyed after some weed / marijuana.
Yea. I thought so. The artist from HBO drew them as the American version, but Karl mentions looking inside one after biting so he’s obviously talking about the candy.
"you need a bit of the badness to get the goodness" that is actually kind of profound. like, cant have day without night. cant have life without death.
Having listened to the Ricky Gervais show on XFM, the podcasts and the animation unlimited times it is so nice to actually see other people watching it then reflecting and finding it as funny as i do. This episode was amazing in everyway and i've got tears of laughter, even though i've heard the conversations over and over. Thank you gents.
FYI A flotation tank is a tank that's half-filled with water that's the exact temperature as your skin, so when you're floating in it you don't feel it. They also add hundreds of pounds of salt so you float on the surface like a cork. It's pitch black and soundproof too, all of your senses are gone and you're free to just "think" without any input. It's also called a Sensory Deprivation Tank, I've tried them a few times, there's a few places in New York that have them. It's claustrophobic at first but pretty trippy once you relax. When you come out your senses are kind of intensified for a while, colors seem brighter, sounds are crisper, it's weird!
In the UK, Munchies are chocolates, filled with smooth caramel and a small biscuit (Cookie) ball in the middle. Jim'll Fix It was a TV show presented by Jimmy Savile, Google him, RU-vid is likely to delete comments describing the things he did.
@@vee__7 and I believe... In Ireland they were called Munchies in the 90s & more recently they rebranded to Monster-Munch🤔 In both instances they were crisps/chips & had nothing to do with sweets😋
I like how the American animators think Munchies are a savory potato chip snack, when Karl is actually referring to the UK biscuit, caramel chocolate bites. I also bet the animators were initially a bit confused on how to give Karl a smiley face.
i CANNOT WAIT for brians brain episode funniest 25 minutes in animated history “ted danson as brian as tom cruise as ethan hunt…. in mission impossible 6” followed by ricky popping a lung
Munchies does mean exactly the same thing here in the UK 😂😉 Also the Munchies you can buy are chocolate squares, caramel and biscuit not crisps 👍 We need you fellas in these times of war 🤣
You just made my night special ..laughing so much nearly split my wine you guys are the best ..an we saw zeus ...what a night thanku so much love you loads God bless x
Somehow… I actually get Carl more in this one than I do in most videos. I understand the man and he’s a savant. But goddamn, the relationship between you three is stellar!
I love that you like these three! Have you listened to their XFM radio show from about 20 years ago? It's hilarious. I still listen to them before I go to sleep XXX
Oh the illustrator got the packet of munchies wrong. They are a long thin packet of chocolates. I love watching you guys watch this. The guy on the rights laugh is brilliant
I love how mundane Karl's fantasy is. One thing I always find slack about this cartoon is the "real life people change to cartoons" bit occurs offscreen. It'd be cool to have them change as we see it.
Yeah it’s a odd they didn’t do that. It’s probably the hardest part to pull off but it would’ve been the best part to see so a missed opportunity there.
I agree with Karl about can't have good all the time. It's like agent Smith saying the first matrix was a paradise, but the human mind rejected it, and kept trying to wake up from an obvious dream.
You guys should order a box full of chocolate bars from here in the UK. Cadbury range is probably your best shout for variety, but they're lots of different snacks that you'll find from other companies ❤🏴
The thing about never liking things more than once was Karl 100% talking out of his ass as he went, because he realized his point was bollocks about a quarter of the way in but didn't want to concede the point. It's even funnier when you consider that he hates any change, and is the antithesis of someone who seeks out new experiences.
The animators got this completely wrong...The munchies Karl is referring to are a small cube of chocolate filled with caramel and a biscuit ball... For some reason, they chose to depict them as a packet of crisps lol Still, Karl's decision to go in the tank based on munchies is still brilliant.
