As a 75 yr. old male watching you both experience the Righteous Bros. you bring back wonderful memories. Working every day after school & Sat. at the super market at 14 to buy my 1st car (1957 Chev. 2-dr. Bel Aire). meeting girls from other schools at the community dance on Sat. night. There was a lot of "slow" dancing & "dirty" dancing with the lights down low. The girls wore dresses & the boys wore a sport coat & tie. I wore my hair exactly like Bobby's. It was a very romantic time & boys back then felt that way too!. I must admit reliving this puts a tear in my eye.

@@generationgapreacts The 60's were a great era. In Texas you could get your driver's license at 14 if you took driver's ed. A typical date to the movies included being grilled by the girl's father, reservations at a nice restaurant (white table cloth & all), drive downtown to 1 of 3 movie theaters, & get your date home by midnight. We would sit in the balcony so we could make out. Mix in stopping at the "in" drive-in hamburger joint, stoplight drag racing, and going to drive-in movies and it was well worth working after school. I mentioned that the girls wore dresses but left out that they wore stockings & heels! By the time I was 20, I was married & serving in Vietnam during the Tet Offensive.

@@duanelavely5481 I had no idea you could drive at 14. I’m sure you looked great in your car with you girlfriend sitting next to you. It sounds like you had a wonderful life as a teenager, until you went to Vietnam. What a contrast. I had a military father who served in the Korean War, so I understand the sacrifices you had to me.

@@generationgapreacts In Texas in the 60's, law enforcement HAD to stop you to write a speeding ticket. They couldn't take down your license plate no. & mail one to you. The question then became whether or not you could out run the law. However, it could also work the other way. A lot of "Yes sir & No sir" could get you a long way. I was pulled over one night & the Office said that he had clocked me at over 100 mph before I slowed down & he caught up. I didn't know he was behind me. We got to talking & he wrote me up for 40 mph in a 30 mph zone. My mother told me to always be nice & polite to the police. By the 70's they had changed the law!

Great reaction to this classic hit. And I'm amazed at how emotional daughter gets at the lyrics of the song. Most reactors get sentimental when hearing songs but not you, it's as if you feel the singer and the song are both talking to you. And that's a good nay it's a great thing you have there. Nowadays people seem to not appreciate words either spoken or sung. Let alone written as nobody writes letters anymore, and i feel that is the reason why love has become shallow in this day and age. This song connects to a lot of people back then because people would write letters to family or loved ones and in the letters one can feel the outpouring of one's heart. Plus it felt or feels more exciting to receive a letter or a love letter. Ahhh how simple life was back then, I'm just glad that a lot of reactors are young and tired of the current songs of today. They have begun to appreciate the music of yesteryear and have a deeper understanding of how their parents, grandparents, uncles and aunts lived. It's always refreshing to see mom live her life thru the music you both have listened to and how open both of you are to each other's music. This is a great journey you and your mom are on. Keep it up guys.

You're My Soul And Inspiration went to #1 on the charts in 1966. The Righteous Brothers were really on a roll in the mid-60's. With this song, you've now reacted to their 3 most famous songs. However, that's not the end of their great catalog of music. Other songs of theirs definitely worth checking out are Ebb Tide, For Once In My Life, Rock And Roll Heaven, and Bill Medley's duet with Jennifer Warnes, I've Had The Time Of My Life from the movie Dirty Dancing.

Another dou of singer's that I have not seen anyone react to is Jan and Dean. The song dead man's curve was released in December of 1963. Ironically in 1966 Jan Berry suffered brain damage from an auto accident on Whittier Boulevard in Los Angeles. There is a 1978 movie called Dead man's curve that is about their rise and what happens after Jan's accident. The movie depicts that Jan was speeding down the road and loses control then slams into a semi trailer. In the movie he is upset after hearing that he can't get out of being drafted into the army. At least that is the way I remembered it.

“The Righteous Brothers” are considered by most to be the Greatest Male Vocal Duo Of All Time. I agree. Between Bill Medley’s Lows and Bobby Hatfield’s Highs they can hit every note on a piano. No other male singers can do that. Legendary. “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin’’ was the most played song on radio in the 20th Century "Unchained Melody" - Bobby Hatfield Live 1965 Andy Williams Show (with his mother sitting right behind him) Considered by most as The Greatest Live Male Vocal Performance In History... I agree. Bobby’s use of “Runs” is masterful. He created the style and set the table that all others have fed off of for decades. 7 notes just to say the word “I” is melodic brilliance. Their name came from doing a show near a marine base in So Calif and a black marine said to them…. You two guys are Righteous Brothers. In 1983, in Newport Beach O.C. Calif. Bill and Bobby at the Jolly Roger Restaurant . I was 13 feet away for... "Unchained Melody"- "You've Lost That Lovin Feeling" - "Soul And Inspiration".... They were perfect, awesome, amazing, incredible......

Thank you for airing this song. It's one that doesn't really get played much now (in the UK at any rate, don't know about the USA), which is a shame, because it is a very good song and a strong vocal performance from both of them. Once again the harmonisation is truly excellent. And as you have both mentioned in other videos of them, the vocals are effortless. On another tack, do either of you listen to the Walker Brothers? "The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore" and "No Regrets"" are two of their songs that were quite big back in the day and their harmonisation is also very good. One of them (I think Scott Walker) also is able to reach quite low notes vocally, particularly in "No Regrets".

Music and clothing styles lost their class and started going to the dogs with Rap, Heavy Metal, Punk, etc. The poor New Millennium kids have nothing like we did and my heart goes out to them.

Hey Kids, I'm a new subscriber and I'm enjoying every minute. Glad I found y'all. Hey, you want a different view/version of The Righteous Brothers watch Bill Medley sing "Brown Eyed Woman", I'm not sure exactly where it was done, but I think it was at the Playboy Mansion. Anyway, Bill was obsessed with one of the Ladies, forgive me I can't remember her name, she was Black and he was trying to "date" her? Anyway, watch the live version and it's great but you'll also get a glimpse of Donald Trump and Melania in the crowd. 🤔🤗😎

Watching the daughter, well her getting emotional just broke my heart! Everytime I hear this song it kinda makes the tear machine start up. I'm just wished the music would make a big comeback. I guess I am a sentimental fool, just sayin'😉

They start out singing about feelings. After Bobby does his 'talking part' they both bring out emotion and power. Marvelous.

I have seen your reactions to the 3 most popular songs by The Righteous Brothers. All 3 of these songs were recorded on Live performances in '64, '65 and '66, in an era of BEFORE auto-tune and computerized special effects for voice enhancements. This cannot be stressed enough. Just pure, raw and amazing talent.

As you like deep voices take a listen to Paul Robeson. He did 'Old Man River' but he was an amazing man who worked all his life as an activist to help people. He even went to Scotland to support the miners there.

Hoover was president, Eisenhower came soon after, and as a young boy, I thought Honeycomb and Kisses sweeter than wine by Jimmie Rogers were the best ever. Well, you need to look into those times and be amazed at the talent back then! Later, the Association, the Turtles.....gosh you two gals are making me go back! There is something about remembering, I'm sure I'm looking through rose colored glasses, and every generation feels the same way about their past but I feel really blessed to have those old songs to remember my youth by. Thank you two, I'm sure glad I stumbled onto your site. God Bless, Rickj

Thank you so much! You are DEFINITELY lucky to have those songs as memories from your youth. I have some great songs that make me remember the good times but nothing like what came out of the 60s and 70s! Even 80s! Song writing seemed to have deeper meaning back then too.
