Finn wanted to tell Rey that he was Force sensitive, this was confirmed off screen and its to suggest about Finn’s backstory as to who his heritage was
Oriakhi Jackson Well there’s a running _joke_ that Finn’s father was likely Mace Windu, this is because Samuel L Jackson asked George Lucas if it was possible mace windu survived and he said yes actually, so Samuel L would like to believe Mace is alive, and at a premier for one of the films Samuel L attended and when he saw John Boyega yelled out to him “Ey, you my son!” presumably as a fun nod or gag, but thanks to this reveal *likely* leads it to be cannon now I know this is lengthy but it’s just a whole string of events that you need to know prior to connect the dots
@@DarthOpinion Yeah He Could've Just Appeated To Ben Trying To Turn Him Back To The Light Side Like This: Anakin:Ben Kylo:Grandfather? Anakin:Don't Do This,Palpatine Is Evil.Just Come Back To The Light. Kylo:No,I Believe Palpatine Can Make Me More Powerful Anakin:I Did Too,But I Got Tricked He Said He Could Give Me The Power To Save Your Grandmother But He Tricked Me. Kylo:Maybe I Will But Palpatine Seems He's Telling The Truth... Anakin:Don't Follow The Same Path I Did The Dark Side Does Have Unnatural Force Abilities But They Only Want To Take Over The Universe....Do The Right Thing....Do It......(Echoing Through The Room And Disappearing)
That's BS. Why would he say that he was force-sensitive before he dies? And why didn't he want to say it Infront of Poe? It's more likely that he was going to confess his love for Rey.
Rose, just to let you know JJ Abrams ( director of Star Wars : Rise of Skywalker) confirmed that what Finn really wanted to tell Rey was that he was force sensitive which means he has a strong bond with the force.
Blake Jefferson yeah I get that, for me it just always seemed like something like that would happen, and I thought it was a good way to show that “kylo” was really gone and “Ben” took his place
I always hate when people do a ‘thankyou for the likes’ edit. It’s not that people like because they want to do you a favor. It’s because they agree with the comment. And you even say thankyou by 50 likes??
@@eljespero9636 there is this really powerful sith lord you can fight in KOTOR 2 called Darth Nihilus, he had a hunger for force energy, and had such a powerful use of force drain, that he was able to force drain entire planets
I think the reason for the high ratings is because, like you, everyone went in with low expectations and was pleasantly surprised that it wasnt as bad ad they imagined and so rated it higher than it was worth
KP for real this movie could have been so fucking epic, I may be a minority but if they showed in episode 8 that the emperor was still alive and was controlling Snoke and then in this movie it should have bent Ben solo who killed the emperor and Rey be the one who died so that a Actual Skywalker rises
Taking Harry Potter route mentioning main villain name brings fear to Rebellion and Leia wanted her army to have hope not fear. Notice only Luke mentions the name Darth Sidious in Ep 8 similar to Dumbledore who wasnt afraid to say Voldemort name out loud
@@evelynmarkwart6720 they've been borrowing heavily from avatar aang/kora concept. The avatar is the bridge between men and the spirit world, restoring balance, and the avatar communicating with the previous avatars. And also some characters were kinda referenced as well.
june abaja oh okay thanks for explaining. i love the avatar series, I just never saw the parallel. especially because i only saw the first 7 episodes of the star wars films
That title is so perfectly representative of my views i couldn't pick a better one. I do slightly disagree with the whole planet cannon being OP against a fleet, to me it seems like it would be like using a machine gun against a swarm of flies. It might get some but probably require extreme amounts of energy to fire and they would risk destroying their much larger ships or their planet.
Wow Im glad to hear this kind of review. After seeing the movie I myself had alot of similar thoughts as you. I was pretty shocked that everyone thinks its THAT terrible, when I didnt really think so. Episode 8 is still far worse.
I’m on the impression that a lot of peoples, inconsciously or consciously already decided to hate the Movie even before they knew anything about it because of ep8 My I did like it, no ROTS but my favourite of the sequels.
Really? This movie basically sacrifices all plot. It feels like a fever dream. I'd argue that it is much much worse than episode 8, or 7 for that matter
@@lucaleone4331 At least 8 didn't kill off 15 characters and then bring them back 2 seconds later. At least 8 didn't have them fall through quicksand and then have the quicksand form the roof of a cave. (which makes no physical sense, I don't care what galaxy this is) At least 8 didn't have the bad guy (Who is Palpatine, back from the rightful grave and the little bow he left on the saga) changes his mind at the last second and force sucks out the good guys souls, and then proceed to zap THE ENTIRE SKY with lightning, in the movie's most ridiculous moment. I'd say the plot is a LOT worse when you look at it. I'm not defending TLJ AT ALL, but TROS is the worst one. Each scene has about 5 new plot holes
@Monarch Music bruh. It's a Sunday. And the whole trilogy sucks. Go find something better to do with your time. Cuz I don't care to compare two bad movies to see which one is thr lesser of two evils.
I was waiting for them to just revive each other back and forth for ever. Imagine they get married 20 years in the future and during the whole ceremony they are just constantly giving their life for eachotherbover and over with a bunch of 10 second conversations!
When Yoda is teaching Luke about the force in episode 5, Luke asks Yoda if the light is more powerful than the dark and Yoda responds that there is a difference between light and dark side of the force. So the result of that could mean that Vadar and Palpatine couldn't heal plainly from the fact that the dark side of the force did not have healing powers. Also, healing is a great form of light in my perspective and yet another reason the light side of the force can heal and the dark side cannot!!
My personal ranking star wars film and show 1. Empire Strikes Back/Return of the Jedi 2. Star Wars the Clone Wars series 3. A New Hope 4. Rogue One 5. Rise of Skywalker 6. Revenge of the Sith 7. Star Wars Clone Wars 2008 movie 8. Star Wars Rebels 9. Star Wars Clone Wars 2003 series 10. Solo a Star Wars Story 11. Attack of the Clones 12. Phantom Menace 13. Holiday Special 14. Caravan of Courage 15 .Battle for Endor 16 The Last Jedi
Thanks for the review. I'm to the point where I honestly don't care anymore. They've kicked me in the face one too many times. Still, maybe I'll catch it on video at some point down the line.
@@TheK42Solarflare what you mean killed, this movie saved Disney Star Wars. They saved the mess TLJ left behind and not only that, they made Darth Revan canon and many more things from the legends during this movie. And this movie was great, many refrences to old movies to make sense of what was going on during this movie, but i guess you have to notice them in order to see what i mean. Why you have to be mad about it, Mr Dramaqueen...
Alex There’s no saving the mess TLJ, or any of the Disney movies left behind. They’ve abolished the great established lore only to pick out some stuff they like, claim it as their new and totally not plagiarized idea, and then Fuck that over again by taking away every piece that made the lore so interesting to begin with (one example being Thrawn). Them reinstating Darth Revan only gives them more opportunities to fuck that AMAZING lore up as well. Honestly, I don’t want to see them touch anything from the EU again. Because if they do, their touch of Midas will turn it into shit, which will in turn be remembered by their followers and newbies, which then slowly erodes the greatness of the backstory until Disney has destroyed everything Star Wars.
I didn’t say in the movies what Finn was going to tell Rey, but in one of the interviews with JJ Abrams he says he was going to tell her he was force sensitive. It annoys me that they didn’t say it in the movies.
8:53 long story short, one month before the release, Disney worked behind JJ’s back and cut the scene of what he wanted to tell her. Thank god JJ revealed it to us. He said that Finn was going to tell Rey that he is force sensitive.
Awsome vid dude! Been waitin for it for days, just like ive been waitin to see Star Wars 9 since Last Jedi! But i didnt understand a certain thing and im now confused: the lightsaber Rey made and revealed at the end of the movie was white, yellow or orange? Cuz when i saw the movie i saw the sabers color as either yellow or orange, and then i saw ur review and u said it was white. So what color is it? Hope someone, includin u, Morgan, has an answer to that. Ty!😉
I wish they had done more with the knights of ren. Stil really liked the movie though. If you ask me, Palpatine marrying someone could make sense if either: He married before he gave into the dark side; He married another evil person.
"In many ways, the work of a critic is easy. We risk very little, yet enjoy a position over those who offer up their work and their selves to our judgment. We thrive on negative criticism, which is fun to write and to read. But the bitter truth we critics must face, is that in the grand scheme of things, the average piece of junk is probably more meaningful than our criticism designating it so."
Just got done watching it and let me just say it was very scary to turn on my phone while walking out the movie theater and seeing something about the movie I just saw 👌
I’m so ecstatic Hayden came back!! I didn’t know if he was part of the voices that spoke to her and I couldn’t read the credits because I had an appointment to get to but now I’m literally crying because that makes me so happy!!!
Here was my idea of events that happen in Episode IX The movie opens with Kylo Ren and General Hux watching radar and Kylo Ren is drinking coffee. Eventually they’ll need the instant DVD of Episode IX to find out where the rebels are. I got the idea from Spaceballs
I had a lot of fun while watching it. Of course I don't think its a great movie while analysing it in my head in the aftermath, but in the cinema I laughed and felt excitement between the occasional eye roll. I'd watch it again
I also respect your opinion. However, you just described my favorite type of movie. Just sit back and be entertained. There dosen't always have to be heavy lifting. It makes you happy.
Good review movieflame! And personally I partially agree with you I saw the movie with friends and I looked for the positive before the negative and here’s my view on this movie! I think it was great because of the ending when Rey called herself a skywalker. I think the message in that is in how we choose our families rather than the one we are born in and that’s why I think she was meant to be the skywalker the movie spoke about because she’s rising from her birth family name and embracing her new family!
4:38 I would really love that but I really wish it was shot the same or at least similar to how the other two ones were. It just kinda bothered me that it was a shot that was more zoomed in then the other two
I like this last trilogy more then most, but there is a big issue that I do agree with most. It seems like J.J Abrams had a vision for series. He knew where it should go. When Rian Johnson did the Last Jedi though he did not go with Abrams vision and did a 180 on lots of Abrams ideas. That meant when Abrams came back for Rise of Skywalker there was another 180 in the series and lots of the last two movies were spend undoing the other directors work instead of telling a good story. I felt like we could of gotten a bunch of good films if Abrams did all of them or if Johnson had just followed Abrams plan.
I love your review Morgan, I just saw the movie two days ago with my parents, my mother and I liked it, we though it was okay, I agree with your criticisms, I wish the movie could improve a few things, also maybe make the movie a bit longer.
1:12 TRUE AF. if we count all of the good things and the bad things we can see that the movie isn't THAT BAD. the fans tend to focus on what's wrong with the film ignoring the good stuff and ruined their own mood. they can't just sit back, relax and enjoy the movie while eating pop corn. these sequels isn't perfect, so are the other trilogies, even the original trilogy. they used to hate the prequels so bad (some of them probably still) but if we rewatch it, it has good quality of fight choreography. each of them have their own quality that made them worth watching.
After seeing the rise of skywalker my opinion about this film is this is a good film not a great one but atleast its a memorable one for me and im happy that chewbacca finally gets the ending he deserves finally getting attention and that medal
Finn was going to tell Ray I love you. He has had puppy dog eyes for her since episode 7. Thank you for the review. Gave me some good inside in a balanced view of the movie.
Exactly!!! I was saying that to my friends that how is it possible that there’s ruins for the Death Star since it blew up into MILLIONS of particles into space!! So stupid 🤦🏻♂️
I think the Finn thing was to set up one of two things, 1. To leave it ambiguous that Rey and Finn would get together, they just didnt want to state it out right b/c it would diminish the Rey and Ben kiss. or 2. it was the fact that hes force sensitive. It kind of alluded to the idea that the storm troopers that defected were actually force sensitive. (That can also ease ur issue with them ignoring the force sensitive kid at the end of episode 8)
We watched the movie on our anniversary, went to a restaurant after and discussed the movie, had the funny thought of Rey and Ben constantly reviving each other back and forth 😂
And good on you for liking it I had low expectations and still went from cinema pissed at the movie more than at fox for screwing up with dark Phoenix and that's saying something.
