The Chief has a specific line thats supposed to make you think. "To error is human" inclining he is aware, and let it happen because Miguels positive impact helped his people.

@Darkstar benifit of the doubt, he has to add something and not just have a silent video of him looking past the camera at the movie or none of us would be here, it was a quiet scene that seemed like small talk that he felt he could use as time to show more interest. Which is why we can comment so he can get what he missed, and thats just more interactive with us

I think you missed the line where the Chief said that it's human to fail, to Miguel on the boat. You talked about something else when he said it. That makes it clear that the Chief knows, but it doesn't bother him.
@jamesplunkett8912
@jamesplunkett8912 28 дней назад
Yeah, the chief knows. He likes Miguel regardless that he's not a god, but a good person.
@WindierIndoors
@WindierIndoors 2 года назад
The chief's line 'To err is human' is significant not only because Miguel just said he'd been mistaken (erred) but the second part of that phrase, which he left out, is 'to forgive is godly.' I like to think that he feels that there's a bit of god in everyone. Miguel makes big, important changes for their community just by playing god. He creates his own power and uses it for good. Then, at the end of the movie, Miguel chooses to forgive Tulio's disloyalty (thus, godly). Similarly, the chief easily forgives their farce. Although the high priest has magic (godly) powers, he cannot give anyone's short-comings, mistakes, or crimes, and eventually falls to ruin. He ends up being the most human, as his error is the greatest.

There’s a theory that the armadillo is actually the god that the native people were talking about. If you see whenever the armadillo appears there’s always something happening around. Specifically when the armadillo is chasing the butterfly the volcano was acting up but when Miguel says to stop the armadillo changes it’s attention and the volcano seizes.

Man, I wish this film was a full-blown musical (with the characters singing more than one song). I always felt bad for how Tulio screwed over Miguel.

it was no coincidence they lost the gold, you could hear tulio's voice crack when he said he had a plan, they knew the gold would be lost, but they needed it's massive weight to smash against the pillars and bring the cave down, ultimately choosing the people over the gold

This movie is loosely modeled after the formula for the old "Road to..." films starring Bob Hope and Bing Crosby. The basic formula was 2 guy friends go to exotic place, get into some kind of trouble, spend the entire movie trying to con their way out of it, meet pretty girl that one of them falls for... shenanigans ensue and they manage to get out of trouble just in time for their next big adventure to some other far-off place.

I went to Mexico when I was 20 for my moms friends wedding and my mom and I got to take a tour of an ancient city (I forget which one) and meet the citizens who still call it home. One of the tours included and ancient game arena, the exact game Miguel and Tulio play! When you see the actual height of the hoops on the wall, you wonder how they played without using their hands. Now, I might be misremembering, but at the end of the game, it was the winners who were sacrificed! In order to please the gods, the people believed their gods would want the strongest, fastest, and most tactical warriors they had. And what better way to prove it than by mastering one of the hardest games ever invented? They even had a stone skull in the middle of the field where the sacrifices happened!

29:41 Miguel and Tulio know the chef’s soldiers don’t stand a chance against Cortez. Not only does he have guns and armor greatly more protective than the natives but he has a key war element- the horse. The horse provides height, speed, and if it’s trained well war horses will bite and kick at opponents while rider also takes out people. Oh and that scene with Chel and Tulio, her mouth was not even close to his mouth. Dreamworks is famous for having adult adult jokes in its films.

Where did that sailor get the map from? Cos it's existence implies someone had been there before and found the way before all this began. ..... In a way Tzekel kan got what he wanted, he found a 'diety' that matched the right image and mindset, but what he missed was the possibility that his gods(or anyone like them) would see him as just another puny mortal like everyone else and he wasn't gonna be rewarded for his loyalty like he probably thought. Also considering how the opening was the gods providing a lush jungle paradise filled with life, I'm not sure where Tzekel kan got the notion they were the 'bloodthirsty rule with an iron fist' type, I'm taking that as a 'this is what i want rather than what they actually want' thing.

Funny thing: El Dorado is real. And the conquistadors found it early. There was a tribe that sacrificed their gold in a lake, even anointed their leader in gold body paint before washing it off in the lake. But rather than understand their religion and difference in gold’s value, the conquistador’s believed they wasted this gold because there was even more hidden away elsewhere.

I like the reaction and I like your theory about the chief Tannabok. I never thought about it like that but it makes sense and gives the character a new depth. As for next episodes, I would suggest a Ferngully: the last rainforest. It's old and the animation style is very simple, but the message of the story is great, music is beautiful and characters (especially the bat) are super funny :) It was one of my favourite movies as a child and I still like to go back to it from time to time. Besides there are very few reactions on RU-vid to that one. So I would love to see you react to Ferngully.

Hey, so, first of all, I was considering signing up for watching unedited versions of this video. However, I’m not sure if I’m down for paying $10 a month on that, at least not for the long term. So, I was wondering, if I signed up for watching these unedited videos, and decided not to do so, and pay that amount anymore for some reason, I could do that, yes? Well, please let me know! Anyway, thanks so much for reacting to The Road To El Dorado! I had always loved this film. I loved the relationship between Tulio, and Miguel, and I liked how this film showed how much of a hypocrite Tulio had become when he became hooked with Chel, despite originally saying that she was off limits. I also loved the songs, and score for this film, my favorites especially being “El Dorado,” “The Trail We Blaze,” and “Someday Out Of The Blue.” Oh, and if you haven’t already, check out the music video for “Someday Out Of The Blue,” especially since Elton John turns into an animated character. Personally, I may like “Someday Out Of The Blue” a little more than Lion King’s “Can You Feel The Love Tonight.” Anyway, there were some areas where this film could have been better. To begin, why did we have cuss words like the “h” word in this film? Really? Also, I’m not sure that showing Tulio, and Miguel full on naked was the best idea, especially in an animated film, you know? Finally, I felt like Tulio, and Miguel’s conflict could have definitely been handled better than it was in the end. Well, great reaction once again, and see you for some of your other videos! The Road To El Dorado, The Prince Of Egypt, and Spirit: Stallion Of The Cimarron are among some of my favorite DreamWorks animated films. By the way, Chicken Run, Sinbad: Legend Of The Seven Seas are some animated films that you will be reviewing in the near future, eh? Well, even though neither animated film is DreamWorks, may I suggest Warner Bros. Quest For Camelot, and Disney’s Dinosaur? If so, that would be great. Thanks so much! Oh, and another thing! I liked how Miguel stood up to Tzekel-Khan, even when it wasn’t easy to do so.

Fortunately there isn't part two. Dont mess with good staff trying to make more money. Unfortunately thats what Disney done lots of times, but for me Disney seaquels doesnt exist, exept Toy Story 1, 2, 3 because its a trylogy, real trylogy part 4 is for me i even dont wanna mention it, Frozen II it actually was needed and has a lot of sense because its Elsas story contynuing without stupied things like her serching for a prince for me the words "I am found" from "Show Yourself" song are everything. Rest sequels.......nop maby Ralph but only for princess scenes and i like Venellopes song.
