I can't wait to receive my Roamer 1 next month I can't believe all the negative comments in here all by people who have never actually been inside one or know anything about the manufacturer. People are trying to compare this to a stick and tin trailer when this thing has over 3 inches of composite walls and fully ducted that is rated for temps as low as -30 or +120 not to mention that its an overland trailer with over 1200 watts of solar and 1080 amps of battery power. It's also built with very expensive light weight yet very strong real wood not particle board like the trailers you guys are comparing it to. If you want to compare to something it would be like an airstream and a jeep/hummer had a baby and thats what this trailer would be. I used to want an airstream then realized you get no solar no battery bank, it doesnt come with disc breaks and independent suspension where you can also raise and lower it. It also comes with the option that I got it with an incenratiating toilet so I do not have to worry about a black tank anymore. So I guess some people will always be haters but at least do research this will be my 3rd RV and I was deciding for a while and as soon as I saw this nothing really compared besides maybe the Pause but I didnt really like the layout at the time. And dealing with ROA has been 1 of the best experiences as well compared to most big name RV dealers.
Priced way past the enthusiasts that would most likely appreciate and use it the most. Good luck, very sharp...very reminiscent of the Bruder...and all the other Aussie equipment
Airstream quality is terrible. Just watch the dozens of videos on RU-vid highlighting that especially regarding their "off road" base camp variants. In addition they are not insulated like this nor even as close as capable. This is too expensive for myself and I would not purchase this myself, but I am also familiar with Imperial Outdoors and the RV space. Airstream is not even in the same league. This is for the folks that have a lot of money and want the best of the best. Similar to the Earthroamer crowd.
Airstreams are nice, but I’m not aware of them being real 4 season capable like these let alone being able to hit the trails the way this one can. It’s not a good comparison in my opinion.
If you did a little research you would understand the price is in line with the value. There are motorhomes and airstreams that can range from $150k to 2,000,000. You can easily drop $150k on a high end boat. This is a premium product and not for everyone. The price is right where the value is.
People complaining about the price aren't the market for this. Its like complaining about the price of a new Porsche 911 GT3 when you can buy a Miata for 1/5 the price. The trailer is not cheap, but premium products rarely are. This thing is too rich for me, but if I had the money, and wanted the best offroad trailer, this would certainly be in the running.
If you do the research the price is justified. We know it is expensive but so are high-end cars. This is the most premium off road trailer in the world. We have other trailers that are less expensive but not in the same class.
Man I was hoping this was going to be another episode of camper corner with Nathan. They never let him do any of the expensive stuff lol $150,000 AND it comes with a free pillow?

I believe that I can get a home in Moab for the combined total of $300,000 for this truck and trailer. Very nice, but very aspirational. (JD says hello)
Impressive van and reasonably priced considering all the high quality components and thicker walls for the cold climate. I love the solar & battery setup the best. The chassis wasn't mentioned but I'm sure it's tough
Definitely don't move out west. You'll hate it here. It's really hot, lots of snakes, terrible people. Oh and we're running out of water and have forest fires every day. Total global warming disaster. Stay in New York, you'll be happy. 😎
Although the price is insane, this is America and you can’t argue with the quality of this unit. Think of it as the trailer version of an Earth Roamer.
Exactly, and nobody rags on the earth roamers price now that it's proven itself. That's all this Overpowered trailer needs to do. But people don't understand that. They just want to complain.
A lot of people sell their house when they retire, buy a much smaller place in a cheaper, warmer climate, and use some of their equity to hit the road in one of these...
A $150K truck pulling a $150K trailer. Cool trailer but I would rather pitch a tent or sleep under the stars like humans have done for thousands of years. Thx TFL. Always great content. 👍
Lol All these people complaining about the price, but if it was an earth roamer, they would be saying how understandable the price is. Hey man, you get what you pay for--thats a rule of life.
This ist the dream setup! Raptor R with a Roamer One. This looks like the one of the fews American RVs that are build by people who actually go camping and not by a salesman who just want to throw buzzwords around.
150k is a steal compared to house prices. I think you guys are ahead of the curve. This is an overland tiny house. Edit: I don't know how I feel sleeping above the batteries. Is there some sort of battery temp monitoring system with an alarm? Batteries are generally safe, but lithium fires are no joke.
The suspension parts are $16,000+ The batteries are $15000+ The solar system is close to $15,000. Your pushing $50k and for 3 components. All of the components on board are top shelf and better than anything in America. We could itemize every component to show the value. Maybe we will at some point. But to say it is overpriced or too much is simply not true. 😀
This guy's company is a mod crew, and they do also have much cheaper offroad trailers. So, maybe it's not so far out of picture if that's what you'd really like Never know if you don't try (:
A lot of people are complaining about the price and/or asking what does the competition cost. I think we can all agree, yes, it’s expensive. You can get the X195 for around $10k less if you don’t want all the Roamer 1 add ons. I have the predecessor to this, the X22, and I have thoroughly looked over the new models, they are a serious upgrade in construction and components used. I don’t know the actual cost to build one but you’re getting a solid 4 season off road camper that can truly be off grid for some time with the water capacity and solar. Who is the competition that’s available in the U.S.? That’s a good question. I’m not aware of any true 4 season off road campers in this category, not saying they’re not out there, I’ve just not come across them. I have camped comfortably in mine at -20 and was able to use water. You can camp in any season in any camper I suppose, but it’ll have to be dry and the heat may run non stop. The walls in mine are made different but are 3” thick and have an aluminum skeleton, the ceiling is even thicker. The walls on the new ones are one piece composite and 2 5/8” thick, no aluminum skeleton. You get what you pay for and quality costs money.
That is badass! Best solution I've seen for comfortable overlanding. And really, the price isn't outrageous for what you get. And Roman did a long and informative interview/ walk around without interrupting the guy every 10 seconds! I'm gonna start watching his videos again.
Glad to see that TFL's Camper Corner is still alive and well; however, I would have liked to see Nathan as part of this walk-through. There's a lot of tech in this trailer, and it shows. What a unique toilet system to eliminate the need for a black tank (Still laughing at Roman's "poo sausage" comment). Great video.
$155k for bed sheets and cups when you can buy the same camper a X195 for $130k and buy your own bed sheets. Dont most of us take the dealer stickers off our truck when we buy them? You are giving them profit and then advertising for them when you pull it
Awesome Camper. I do think mounting the axe and shovel on the outside as shown in photos from Roamer's web site is very irresponsible. When those come lose and fall off on the highway, you are going to kill someone. Cover your load is law in many States!!
I know it's a high-end trailer, but what kind of warranty comes with that for that kind of a price? I'm paying that kind of money. If something breaks I don't wanna have to deal with another expense
It will be interesting to read real owner reviews in a year or two. For $150k you can build a really nice cabin that will appreciate in value. Not seeing the value for the $$$.
One thing that bugs me is it seems to have a lot of imported parts. So when something breaks way down the road in terms of the life of this trailer… might be hard to get those parts. Would like to see more made in America parts. Especially for the price.
I imported a Cruisemaster CRS for my popup and didn't have any issues calling them and speaking to any of the head guys to get it purchased and shipped. Can't speak to Chinese crap, but the Aussies are awesome to deal with.
155k for a camper at 10 to 15 interest that would be fun to pay that off. What would make you even more sick is when you damage the camper off roading. You pay so much for a camper that your too afraid to take off road.
We can see by you saying that you'd pay 10 to 15 percent interest that you're credit sucks. So why even watch this video? Last time I bought a high ticket item I paid 4.9 percent interest. And my truck loan was zero percent.
Cha ching! $155K and the bathroom is smaller than an aircraft lav!@#$ F that thing! Double the cost of my 1st house that had over a thousand SQ feet of livable space on a .25 acre lot. That toilet seat area I swear to G is pathetic. No wonder people need the shovel and ax outside. So you can build a proper outhouse where you park at night. Paying for structure and power amenities. Which is important, but damn. It is like they got to the bathroom and said.. oops, we need to put something in here, put in a hall closet and call it good. I have seen camper vans with more toilet/shower/sink space.
All depends on build quality. You might be able to get a camper that costs 30-40k but that thing will be chincy as hell and fall apart if you look at it funny. Most campers are built like a shed and then expected to survive the road.
@@Tb0n3 Who cares. No one is going to keep this thing for 30 years anyways. The people that can afford these, use them for a few years and dump them at a 40-60% loss. Then the price should be right where it needs to be -- 60-80k.
@@Tb0n3 Missing the point. I understand the high quality of materials used. No arguments from what I seen here that it will withstand the beating of off grid travel. But at that price point, the amenity of the bathroom should have been considered. BIG bed, reasonable sized kitchen, and lots of storage compartments. But piss poor consideration for indoor facility. Only 1 example shown here I know, but it is a bad example. I would gladly give up some of that bed and kitchen space for a balanced consideration to the bathroom. They emphasized how it can survive in extreme weather conditions, but who would want to spend time outside in extreme weather conditions trying to take care of business and cleaning themselves because their bathroom space was incapable of accommodating them? 1 SMALL size does NOT fit everyone. 😉
If it is built as well as he says it is, the price doesn’t seem out of line. If you have the money to offroad a $110k truck, is this really out of reach? The odd thing to me is 3 person accommodations (these theoretical 40 year olds can only have one kid?)
When I saw the fitting of the windows, I was not impressed. The German, Swiss and Austrian Off-road exp. vehicle on Unimog, Mercedes 6x6 or Man 6x6 etc. use 'unbreakable' completely flat glass windows from KTC. In general, in vehicles, built quality does not match German/Swiss levels in the USA. If I wanted to spend 150 USD, I would add the price of the vehicle for another 100 k and thus get a 6x6 used truck (Unicat, Actionmobile, etc) with unter 100,000 km and go with this. What we actually did in 2022. But, there will be customers for this buiilt, and I guess, they will be satisfied. But, 6x6 vs. pickup truck + caravan....., our choice is clear. We drove through RU and Central Asia, right down to India......and then, on any moutain pass on 3000 m or more, would you like to have to reverse, when other lorries and heavy trucks make you reverse to a place, opposing vehicles can pass ??
At that level of power supply, equipment, and pricing, this trailer needs its own electric motors, which can help to push in difficult situations or whenever else is needed.
Very cool! But way too much $$$!!! Get real!!!! I love you TFL but not catering to your audience. Do this again when they make a practical roamer. I've lived this long without that thing and pretty sure I'll be fine without it. Ridiculous!
Really nice trailer. Amazing attention to detail. Great design concept, taking all of the best ideas from the Australian trailers and adapting them to cold weather climate conditions. Would be nice to see a stripped down version without all the included amenities for a more affordable price. Would make a perfect ski rig.
Most stripped down would probably be its littlest brother, the x145. It's much lighter, and more price friendly, great for gladiators, Colorados, Tacomas and such Unless you're thinking of "older" which would be its predecessors, x22, and XR. Hope that helps.
Australian Caravans like this operate in very cold temperatures. We have some extremely cold parts of rhe country not just desert or tropical rainforest. We get winds and weather from Antartica, the coldest part of the planet
Great looking camper. Very purpose built to get into those awesome BLM spots. When you look at a full size truck lightly up fitted to tow and enjoy Overlanding with, you're looking at $100k - $200k now add in $150k+ for this beast. Perfect weekend set up for Doctors and successful business owners. Or larger content creators. I can see this as our surfing setup. Cruising around the coastline. Creating content and taking the right tax deductions, this can drop considerably in out of pocket costs. Think outside the box!
Most mattresses that come with trailers are crap.. first thing I tell people to throw out. The best foam mattresses I've had come with a trailer are in my Starflyer tent trailer.. actually really comfortable foam.
The mattress in this trailer is extremely nice and not cheap. Everyone has a different idea on comfortable and we will option it to your choice. But the one it comes with the owner choose because it is his favorite mattress. Not cheapest. :)
@@ROAOffRoad That is great. A top of the line trailer should have options for things like mattresses. I feel like I am a hostage on memory foam mattress 😁😁 I was impressed by your product and will check it out more.
@@allentoyokawa9068 sorry but this is not true. Every single part in this trailer is top shelf and the highest quality. We have sourced locally and from Germany and Italy. Every component and part are some of the best parts you can buy for the application.
You guys need to start getting back to reviewing things that your viewers actually purchase or plan on purchasing. I would bet 0 of your subscribers would ever buy something like this
@@TFLtruck meaning if your going to do a camper, do something in the price range that your viewers would be actually considering to purchase. Sure it’s cool to see the latest and most expensive but that should be it’s own channel…. Along with “toys” like the TRX, Raptor R etc. I’ve been a subscriber for years, hate to see the channel lose touch with the audience that helped build it
@@TFLtruck stubby is great to see, no issues with that. I would also like to see more long term owner reviews. let’s see how these trucks have actually held up over 100,000 + miles.
Bruder EXP-7 comes stock with 1245w of roof mounted solar so no this is not the most solar of any trailer in the world. 2000w inverter is tiny for that much solar and battery. The air conditioner is too small for that large of a space. It may work to cool eventually but should be bigger. The truma ac is better built, has more BTUs and while not 12v is still just as efficient even considering the inverter requirement. The Go Power electronics is standard at best and certainly substandard for something this expensive. The roof seams all need to be inspected/maintenanced twice yearly. Wood on the interior is less than ideal regardless of the type when so much innovation with composites and aluminum exist. Nice layout, nice bed, great storage and options with above average suspension and hitch. Overall nice BIG off road trailer that is overpriced given the lack of quality of some of the components. A hybrid model that tows smaller would be nice.
Please show me a situation where a ball snaps or doesn't alow enough pivot where it puts stress on the actual trailer. I don't care if it's an off road camper your still towing a camper. Your not gonna be rock crawling with it or doing anything that a ball couldn't handle. PROVE ME WRONG. Just another money hungry company selling a way overpriced product.
This is an awesome trailer. Yes it is 20k or more overpriced. Look at the Kingdom Camping XL. However I don't think it's ROA that set this price it's the MFGer imperial outdoors . ROA put thier heart and soul into this rig IO got greedy
155k is "reasonably priced" these days. All you need is a "reasonably priced" 4wd pickup for 120k to tow the camper, and for the very reasonable sum of 275k you can now go camping. I guess I am the crazy one?
Looking at the outside, I thought for sure the interior height was going to be under 6' To see him able to stand up inside is impressive. Although… $155k? Never mind.
A 30k trailer the same length will get you down the same trails, its not ride height and suspension its length that that matters and that's why overlanders use tiny campers/trailers and roof top tents. This is just selling an idea.
