I have had 2 of these for 4 years. It's definitely not for speed typing. It actually works more consistently if you wear work gloves. You can get it as wet or dirty as you want. Just hose it off. So it has specific usage. Do not roll it tight you will kill it sooner. Get a plastic tube to wrap it around if you are throwing it in a pack. Get some rubber conditioner so the rubber doesn't crack. I have it setup to watch video and listen to music outside without having to go in and click the next thing. In the greenhouse the PC is inside the house with the monitor facing out a window. I also have a living room PC that has 4 monitors, one monitor facing out on the deck. With these keyboards I don't have to worry about them getting wet or where I spray water. This Kboard would also be handy if you work outside operating a computer out the back of an SUV.
Fun fact: in the early 90s before laptops where a big thing some sci-fi publication assumed that in the future you would carry a rubber keyboard and small mouse with you and just connect those to either: a) a outlet that would let you use any screen like a computer via a service like cloud computing. Screens where of course omni-present. b) a device like a tablet (without touch) or small computer (not a laptop but a screen like a old timey portable tv) Now to see that there are actual rubber keyboards brings back memory. Also it seems that I was right, typing on those things sucks.
I love that you give reviews on actual consumer friendly products... I love inbox therapy but they only have like 4 or 5 products I can buy lol keep it up.
I had one similar, except it was in a plastic cylinder, and it broke from external stress on it, while rolled up. Exact same problems for input , though it worked.
I bought one of those for around 7€ at a local store like 4 years ago. It really comes in handy if my Kodi-Box acts up and I have to debug, because I don't have to get my PC's keyboard, and if I don't need it I just roll it up and put it away
i usually bring my K552 to school to annoy the crap outta everybody. its quite a pain but i have a loophole to keep it inside a plastic box with padding.
Yo I've watched your videos for about 10 to 20 minutes and your pretty freakin awsome most dudes on RU-vid don't do what you do witch is everything and I've been trying to fifer out how to do anything on electronics and you helped a ton and wen I say a ton I mean a TON!!!!! Thx bro ur the best
I own a smaller keyboard like this for travel purposes It is mushy but there is a click feel. It is great for general use on the go for a smaller desktop. Good keyboard for a raspberry pi and others like that. It is worth getting the $10 one I grabbed on eBay because then you won't need to take an expensive keyboard and loose it in travel when you only lost a cheap travel keyboard.
2 space bars because they need it to role up and the large space bar would probably cause an issue there. Also I would think it would be hard to have a large space bar actually hit the actuation point anywhere you press it since it's all rubber.
Interesting video, the guy has my attention, but he could have the cam showing him how he tries to type and split screen to see how effective the typing really is. Thanks. Btw, is it waterproof?
here its available for less than that. ranging from 7.8$ to 10$ .I bought one for 9% n was nice. but those were not glowing once so i used led separately to make them glow.
It’s possible because the plastic thing with conductor is rollable but the only thing I’m asking is about the PCB because those are hard ones to fit in plus they’re unroll-able because u roll it,u break it because u know! Circuit board
i would like to get one, recently my on board keyboard on my laptop stopped working and coincidentally it happened after windows 10 latest updates so this would replace it pretty nicely also i hope its not easily broken with some water on it i mean its rubber so you know
i've been in love with the idea of these floppy keyboard, but i havent even heard of one, that is remotely decent for normal use. BUT they do have theyr justification for data entry in enviroments that are dusty, caustic or wet, or are routineley sterilized or have to remain dust free. all occasions where you dont write a lot anyways.
i would really like a new keyboard my old one is dusty and the space button doesnt work, also i am making a new set up and you vids are really help full man.
Amazon product details: "Withstands abuse Rugged silicone material Can be washed with soap and water Roll up and take anywhere Withstands abuse Rugged silicone material Can be washed with soap and water Roll up and take anywhere Unbeatable functionality" LMAO
I've seen this keyboard before and wondered about it. I think this would be great for taking to school and typing my notes on my tablet. also... I love watching ur vids! ur not a narcissist like so many of the other tech channel folks. also... Go Tarheels!!!!
