Barbara’s jumpers remind me of tops my mum wore. And the house reminds me of mine growing up! My eldest sister also had her first baby in 2002 so it all seems so familiar lol

When old people hear that someone is on the TV from close to where they live they have to announce it. Droylsden is in East Manchester, it's a working-class area, the east part of all UK cities is the poorer areas, that goes back to Victorian times when there was a lot of smoke in the air, the rich built their houses on the west because that's where the weather came from most of the time, they'd get all the fresh air, the east side got all the smoke from the chimney's in the center of town during the industrial revolution.

I think Nana kept talking about the make over because her character often tells the same thing to a few people even if they are in the same room and have just heard it! I love her character,she's really very funny!

I grew up in the UK in the North and have lived in the States for 20 years. My wife was from California but liked British Comedy and Drama. I love The Royles. I think it's a difficult one to get but glad you gave it a go

The FS 1E was a 'moped' built by Yamaha. It looked like a motorbike, but through some modifications was technically classed as a moped, meaning you could drive one at 16, a year or two before you could drive a car. As well as looking like a motorbike, they had similar performance. Owning one was the dream of every schoolboy, and many people still keep me or have a soft spot for them as their first taste of freedom. - they were eventually banned, as being to powerful and fast to be classed as a moped. Dave’s reluctance to get rid of his would be understood by anyone of that generation

I love this episode. It just reminds me so much of when my Gran would come for Sunday dinner. We were in Australia, but it was a similar. Someone (usually Dad) would be in trouble with Mum for saying something inappropriate at the table. Barbara getting so stressed cooking reminds me of Mum. Barbara is a saint, my Mum would have totally lost it. Understand why now 😂❤️

I disagree. She mentioned that her daughter did it for her and it was a surprise. She also talks about being treated with respect at the dinnertable. She constantly drops hints throughout the show about being treated better by her family. The most obvious is when she wants to move into the house.

@@engurland she definitely wants to live there but in all episodes she never once shows any interest in hair or make up. She tells the story to both Denise and Anthony too who would be useless hinting at for this! This is an anecdote for nana. Same as story about knowing people who split up over his drinking. She seen it on Kilroy! These are the kind of stories our nana will tell us

I get having patreon content and how it helps the channel. But to hold it back from your non paying audience for close to 11 months is so disappointing especially as this used to be a reaction channel for more than just older TV shows, stuff that included comedy specials and sketches, funny out takes ext. The way that it's made to avoid copyright detection too is painful on the eyes. I'm glad you are enjoying the shows but this isn't why I subscribed I hope in the future you can get back to doing stuff like that. There's so many great comedians out there, so many sketches.

Unfortunately man the shows get blocked where I cannot even post them unless I am doing my editing this way. I used to have an easier time but now everything gets blocked, that is also why it takes me longer to release episodes because of the amount of time it takes me to edit down an episode is significantly longer than it used to be. Thank you for understanding.

Dude if your wondering this is an excellent imitation of life. This was how my Sundays were when I was Anthony's age . Infact I was the Anthony in the family 🙄
