I bought an Arc A750 LE for $210 a month-ish ago, not for gaming but for general use and streaming to use the AV1 hardware encoding/decoding eventually. I give Intel credit where due, for a first _real_ attempt at a discrete GPU the hardware is pretty good, especially in RT. And the drivers have definitely improved. Having 3 contenders in this category is fantastic, we need more of it.

Thank you for putting the older 20 series on the graphs. Considering a lot of people have 20 or older series cards it really does show how much performance you gain with an upgrade. Also selling ones older card really needs to be put into perspective for some people, though im not sure how you could show that as a tuber. Re: The option of reordering the cards or keep them in their positions, I imagine it would be handy to either keep them fixed or settle on an easy way to highlight the card we should be focusing on. Resorting to transitional animations would also help with either case, so as to keep our attention where it belongs. Seeing the performance go up and down while the card stays put is one way. Or, flip to the new graphic, have everything sorted hierarchically, but have the subject card conspicuously slide up or down the stack to it's ranking for that particular benchmark.

For the bars on charts there are two ways you can go about it as far as I'm concerned, keep the order consistent and just have the bars move (which IMO is best when going through many charts) or you can order them but you have to highlight the relevant card so we don't have to read through all the others to find it. Gamers Nexus is a great example of highlighting at its best, it must be a lot of work to do but they also highlight the other cards as they are being talked about which makes it really easy to follow, but IMO just highlighting the card being reviewed is fine 99% of the time if you want them ordered.

Personally I like the charts structured as they are currently. To help with readjusting to where the card now lays within the charts, you could colour code them so nVidia would be Green, AMD would be Red and Intel would be Blue. Thanks for the content as always Jay. I've just upgraded from a 1060 6GB to a 6950XT, and built a new PC after waiting ages for prices to come down. Generational changes aside, the xx60 class of card really isn't what it used to be in my opinion. A 128-bit bus says it all and it's such a shame as for a long time I was intending to upgrade to a newer xx60 GPU.

This card runs my games at 4k max settings flawlessly. I sometimes use more than 12 gigs of Vram, so a 3080 wouldn't have worked for me. Not even the very expensive 12-gig variant would have worked. But since the more rapid drop, prices have already gone back up a bit again- Between £350-410 for a 6700XT. What confuses things more is that I have seen 4060TIs going for as low as £360-380. If you have an 1080ti card don't bother buying another. Unless it's starting to die/outdated drivers/crashing. The xx80 ti series until the xx90 series came out were the strongest cards you could buy and won't flop out regardless of upscaling/cache/ shenanigans simply because they have a lot of hardware to do about any task you ask them to do. Which is why even though it is almost a 7 year old card by now, it still stays at the top 50 fastest cards in the world. xx80 ti performance stays the same in 90% of cases, which is what gamers really care about anyways. No one cares about ray tracing, Ngreedia. If you were to buy previous gen 80ti, aka the 3080ti, it's going to cost you 1250$, which I wouldn't ever recommend even if Ngreedia was pointing a gun at my head. 4080ti isn't even available yet, but I don't expect it's price any lower than 1500$ (and that's being optimist), which is fun because you might as well buy the 4090 for 1600$ at that point. Buy the 4060 Ti at 400$. You are definitely getting a faster card than the 1080ti, but then we would be ignoring this video's advice for price/performance. TL;DR Price/performance wise, 6700XT at 320$ or the 6750XT at 360$ is the way to go. Cheaper, more vram, performance stays consistent. But Intel's A750 at 240$ or A770 at 380$ should be considered too.

Honestly consumers are just pissed the price of these cards aren't bad. Everyone loved the GTX 1060 6gb and AMD's Polaris budget offerings. They sold in this bracket new 6-7 years ago. We just went through a massive period of inflation. The fact AMD, Intel, and NVIDIA are even able to put out cards in this price segment is honestly a small miracle. We've just been burned so much between the pandemic and the gpu crisis so much that our perceived out look are any type of new hardware is toxic. I've bought an A 770 LE for my desktop and an A750 for my brothers and I know in my unique case ARC should not be the gpu for me as many of our favorite games have game breaking gltiches.
@vespermoirai975
@vespermoirai975 11 месяцев назад
@@CleonofAthens Well considering back in the day (literally 3 years ago) you could build a whole PC for the price they want for High tier GPUs. I got lucky for around the time I bought my 3090TI it was when GPU mining was crashing and they were trying to throw 30 series inventory out to make way for 40 series. Otherwise I'd still be using a older card. They are DEFINTLY taking advantage of knowing people will pay super inflated prices due to COVID and Scalpers. Hell the 3060TI SHOULD be way lower raw performance than the 4060 even. It is only through Software trickery that the 4060 is is better. Which is gimping performance on purpose. They bank on DLSS and Frame Generation in the very few games that support Frame Generation and bank on DLSS3 that they shut everyone else out of who bought 30 Series cards that have been shown to work. It is definitely Nvidia being assholes. AMD made their lower end GPUs maybe a little confusing whether that be on purpose or not. Their cards at least have a decent amount of stagger in price to performance between SKUs.
@CleonofAthens
@CleonofAthens 11 месяцев назад
@@vespermoirai975 The issue is I guess their margins? Vram prices spiked dramatically and have decreased from 13$ to 4$ per gb. 8gb is an additional 50$ of cost by the time it gets to a consumer at 4$ a gb. Giving 16gb on an entry level card, while giving 20-32gb on the rest of the line up would easily spike vram prices again. At that point we also need larger buses size. And the 4060 is using AD107 instead of AD106. If NVIDIA used the proper die size it would really cut into margins. Inflations taken a $250 card and turned $250 to $310, so assuming die size and bus size stayed the same the cost of 8gb of GDDR5 vs 16gb GDDR6 is the issue. Frankly ngl a 350$-375$ 4060 16gb base model would have been just fine with a full AD106 die. The issue is hitting the 300$ price tag. What was released as the 4060 really should be a 4050 or 4050ti and priced between 225$ and 250$.

What a joke. Keep holding out and make them drop their prices. 8gb of VRAM/bus and performance isn't enough for this price! Prices should be the following: RTX 4060 TI 16gb $250 RTX 4060 TI $199 RTX 4060 8gb $150 RX-7600 $140-$145
