Don't worry, if you play with Barry Schultz, he'll call you on this even when you're doing it correctly

My group I play with is pretty casual so when I play by the rules they are like don’t feel like you have to throw from in there
@JustDisc
@JustDisc Год назад
Yeah, it just depends on your group. For myself, I truly don’t care if you step out a bit, lose balance when you putt, etc. It’s just a game and I’d rather not be uptight when out for a good time 👍
@rentsiel
@rentsiel Год назад
@@JustDisc that is true! I typically don’t care but I want to be ready when I go to play in a tournament so I play the rules as much as possible

Lol, I consciously make an effort to go perpendicular to the basket, I don't need a habit that will hurt or distract me if I ever try a am40 match.

To be honest who cares unless you are playing some sanctioned tournament? Otherwise just go there and have fun. If having fun means making your lie a bit easier for yourself do it.

Agreed! We would never call out our playing partners during a fun disc golf round. However, this is rule is a reminder in case you ever decide to play in a tournament, since we all know some people can be sticklers for following the rules :p

The game is designed that way over many decades to make it challenging. From the size of the pad you tee off, right up to the pin. It's not arbitrary. Watching someone run up 30 ft or standing away from a leave is like travelling in basketball or running after being downed in football. It's fun to watch and that was ok when you were a kid and learning... But there are rules when to moving to the back tee.

So what am I supposed do when stuck behind a tree?
@JustDisc
@JustDisc Год назад
You can step out, but just make sure your other foot isn’t ahead of the marker 👍
@noodles_GA
@noodles_GA Год назад
This of course is a bad thing, but step putting is fine. Some rules just don’t make sense
@pauldupree7862
@pauldupree7862 Год назад
its only illegal if said foot is still on the ground when the disc leaves the hand.
@patrickflanigan951
@patrickflanigan951 Год назад
The lady in 2nd example is touching tree. Can’t do that either I don’t think. Can’t hold branches out of the way etc I don’t believe. I have been asked about backing into a bush as opposed to stepping into it. You am guessing that’s a no no
@JustDisc
@JustDisc Год назад
You are correct! You can’t hold onto things either 👍

I don't believe you should have a whole one if you sitting there practicing throwing the desk only if you playing in a tournament

Funny thing is I've always been aware of this bc to me it was common sense 😂😂😂but sense isn't common always
@JustDisc
@JustDisc Год назад
It’s most definitely not. We are also aware, but sometimes when you have a really tough shot, you don’t notice because you are so focused on what you are trying to do
@williamhrivnak7345
@williamhrivnak7345 Год назад
If it’s not giving them an advantage its not worth calling it. If you’re like 150 ft away then cheating up a couple inches isn’t going to help you. I would only call it in circle 1 because a few inches matters when you’re inside 30 ft

I see foot faults in every tournament I play, but if you call a penalty, then you are "that guy who calls penalties." Not worth it.
@davidjackowski4336
@davidjackowski4336 Год назад
So what is the rule?
@JustDisc
@JustDisc Год назад
You need to keep your opposing foot behind the mini marker (i.e you can’t have one foot ahead of it) 👍
@colinmcmasters5819
@colinmcmasters5819 Год назад
@@JustDisc the rule is, your foot can't be closer to the basket than the marker. Your foot can be visibly "in front of" your marker, but further away on a circle.

Just throw where you can and have fun. Don’t be like this guy

You definitely seem like the type of dude to call foot faults that are questionable, *JUST SAYING* 😂
@JustDisc
@JustDisc Год назад
I’m not at all actually lol. I’m one of those guys who doesn’t like to play OB if it’s not part of using the natural environment 🤪 I’ve also got a friend who’s close in skill level, but can’t stop step putting. I just let him do his thing 👍
