Gotta start strong and play every single game like it matters. The nonsense I heard last year with fans saying "Its early, these games don't matter" needs to stop. 2 points in October count the same as 2 points in March.

Even the greatest head coaches of all time started as assistants. Time will tell for Appert.

I say only play the prospects in 1 or 2 preseason games this year. This year let the full roster get started early unlike the disaster of last year.

One of my biggest blessings of the Sabres next season is their start in EU against NJ. It will not only be a statement game against his old team, but since its overseas it will put them in a position like Ottawa had this year to have games in hand come the end of the year. Btw, I watched some Locked On Devils videos since Lindy was let go and they even think it was the wrong move. They weren't gonna do it with any coach. So us picking up Lindy was (hopefully) the right move. I'm still skeptical because I'm an old school 90s fan that loves someone who cusses out players and benches them if they are not performing.

Who do you think will become Buffalo's new team Captain? It will probably be between Tuch and Dahlin, and I personally would go for Dahlin, (Giergeson gets the second A if he manages to stick around!) Who Ruff chooses as new team Captain will be the first hint at what the coming season will look like!

Appert, good. Matt Ellis, not so much.

My worst fear for next year is part of what killed the season this year, the injury bugaboo! It's a part of the game that can't be predicted or avoided. It's going to be interesting to see what the lineup looks like after training camp, so many good young guys in the pipeline and let's see who get left behind after free agency.

Wayne, what are your thoughts on the sabres keeping Matt Ellis around? I don't like keeping losers. If He comes anywhere near the power play the season I'm going to lose it

I'm worried we trade to many good future prospects for a new shiny toy for now out of desperation.

Berube went to coach the Maple Leafs

Berube in 8 years as a head coach has gotten passed the 1st round TWICE! Should be interesting with Marner and if resigns with the laffs as he might not get along with Berube since he never liked Babcock who is similar to Berube. Go ask Jordan Kyrou and Robert Thomas for their opinion on Berube, they HATED him, said he was too demanding . Like the Seth Appert promotion wish Adams did that with Michael Peca last summer!
