Maybe read the Torah...you know the foundation of all scriptures. Jesus never used Galatians to teach men the Father's Doctrine. Just saying, Luke 24:27 And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.

Any person who has accepted Christ as his atonement is a Believer. This teaching by Matt Powell is full of holes, false accusations. He is a false teacher if he believes you come to the Father through Jesus, then you can nullify the Old Testament. The New Testament is packed full of Old Testament. Love your neighbor as yourself and love the LORD is taken directly from Deut. 6. I believe Matt Powell is probably filled with good intentions, but he is putting forth false teaching and falsely accusing the brethren.

There are people out there, including myself, that trust 100% in what Christ/Yeshua did for me on the cross for salvation, but still believe that following salvation, there ate things we should or should not do in order to improve our walk of obedience to our Heavenly Father. Having been a christian for nearly 45 years and having been a foreign missionary for many years as well as a pastor for a short time, I have not met one pastor that teaches Believers they can do whatever they desire following conversion, not saying they will lose their salvation, but severe their fellowship with our Father. One person keeps the sabbath on Saturday and another keeps it on Sunday, this does not guarantee or block one's eternal state. In saying that, if in reading the Word, a person is enlighten to do something specific in his life, to not follow through is sin. I just advise people to be very aware of what preachers tell you. The Bereans were commended for studying the Scriptures to see for themselves what is true. No other man will be blamed for my walk with my Father, but many will be held accountable for teaching false doctrine. Study to show thyself approved. Admittedly I only listened to part of this video. I do not know who Matt Powell is, but I feel from the part I heard, he is attacking people with false information. He will be held accountable for this. I pray the Holy Spirit will enlighten people in their search for the truth and expose those wolves amongst that are false teachers.

The King was asked specifically what commandments you must keep to have the resurrection and immortality in the coming kingdom. He answered 5: Speak only truth yes or no. Don't greed. Forgive. Honor your fathers. Be sexual pure. If you add the other 2 commands the king told the scribe are the most important Listen Israel, YHWH is One. Love him with all your mind. Honestly I'm on the 4th minute and I can see where you are coming from, however, is the scripture of Hebrews 7 that you use to justify the law of Christ? Yes, the Levitical Priesthood was temporary and not part of the original plan. It was NOT part of the covenant because Father imposed it. The Renewed covenant with the BLOOD of Messiah has the same obligations, terms and conditions that can ONLY be fulfilled, accomplished, established, magnified with the Hebrew Messiah of the Scriptures dwelling in us. The eternal law is detastable to religion and is emnity against it according to Paul. I pray in love, that the spirit of YAH'S TRUTH is revealed to you that you can discern how to appropriately distinguish what the Order of Melchizedek in the Renewed covenant in Messiah requires. Note: Messiah gave the Law to Moses by the hand of angels from Heaven. His will (Torah) must be accomplished, established, fullfiled on Earth as it is inHeaven my brother, shalom.

Good observation. When I run across an italicized word in the KJV, I know that it was added by the translators usually to make the English more readable. But in some cases, it changes the meaning. For example: 16 Let NO MAN therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: [If NO MAN, then who?] 17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the BODY [is] OF CHRIST. (Col 2:16,17) The BODY OF CHRIST is the CHURCH which at that time was Torah pursuant. Shalom

I have fought and battled with people over this daily, does your brother hate the name of JESUS? There seems to be a certain line that people crosses where it is impossible to bring them back. I am glad to find others who are grieving on this with me. I was beginning to think i was all alone.

My advice, DON'T, especially if your brother knows his bible because almost every single verse in this video is taken out of context and your brother will know that, just as I did, without even having to open his bible, though im sure he will to show you! Funny how Christians ignore the summary verse of Romans 3: 31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we "establish" the law. The word "establish" here is histemi in the Greek, which also means "covenant". What you are not understanding is that law and works of the law are not speaking of the same thing. Works of the law is referring to the traditions of the fathers / elders...what we would refer to today as Mishnah / Talmud...and exactly what Messiah Yeshua was condemning in Mt 15. The Jews have substituted "their own righteousness" (Mishnah / Talmud) for the righteousness of God (Torah): 3 For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. (Rom 10:3) Shalom

And I'll bet you did not read either of those passages, which address THE Old Testament Law, not the Pharisaical interpretations and additions. Note how Peter points out that "Neither we nor our fathers were able" to keep the Old Testament Covenant in Acts 15. That is a clear reference to the Old Testament Israelites, not Jews beneath the Pharisaical interpretations. Note how Paul condemns the running to the Old Testament Law's ceremonial and Levitical commands, forbidding people to place believers underneath them (Gal 5:4, Col 2:16-17, Rom 14:5-6). Nor does Paul anywhere distinguish between Law and Works of the Law as if they were two different things. And I would remind you that Jesus Himself did away with the dietary laws, as Mark wrote (Mark 7:14-23, and pay special attention to verse 19). Let me give you a little bit of advice: if you have to do serious hoop-jumping with your understanding of Greek or Hebrew to the point of parsing words in an unnatural manner and contradicting what has been the teaching of the Christian Church for essentially its entire existence, then you're probably listening to a false teacher. Think long and hard about that.

The New Testament Christians were NEVER told to keep the Old Testament Ceremonial/Levitical laws (Acts 15) Paul clearly warns that justification by the law is being fallen from grace (Gal 5:4) The entire history of the Christian Church is one of making quite clear that we are NOT under the Ceremonial and Levitical laws of the Old Testament. Again: when you're turning around to teach something that the Christian church has not taught for the entirety of its existence, there's something wrong. Oh, by the way, I had a mom who had us keeping sabbath, and doing other things that leaned toward the "Messianic Jew" direction, and I can say that there's no room for grace in this system; eventually it gets either corrupted or pushed out altogether, and you're left with a salvation by works. Read the Scripture plainly; don't read it through the lens of Messianism. Let it speak for itself without presuppositions. No ill-will toward you man, but a gospel that mixes grace and works is not a gospel at all.

Actually just the opposite is true. Those who didn't follow the way of the Lord but followed a way that seemed right to them were the ones who crucified Christ who did follow the Law.

Second, if we want to play that game, how come you don't apply "Torah" to Romans 3:19-20, Galatians 5:4, or how about Romans 4 which talks of Abraham's faith, and does so IN CONTRAST to the law (which even Jewish scholars concede that Abram/Abraham was not bound to keep, as it had not been delivered to him). @@Outrider74 OK...let's look at Romans 3:19-20. First, I would like to apologize. You're absolutely correct to say that the term, Torah, doesn't belong in the New Testament. It has just become second nature to me to use that term when speaking of the "Law". But this subject, law, is a great segue to Romans 3:19-20. In Hebrew, there are at least a dozen different terms for "law"...about half refer to authentic Torah law (torah, mitzvoth, chuqqim, piqqudim, edot, etc.) and the other half to the corruption of Torah (minhagim, takanot, ma'asim, gezerot, meserot, etc.) called the traditions of the fathers / elders in many places in the NT and referred to as Mishnah / Talmud in today's parlance. In the Greek NT, there is only ONE term used for law....nomos. So, if you are translating Hebrew to Greek, and run across these terms, how do you distinguish between authentic Torah law and Mishnah?...you add qualifying terms, "works of" the law, or "deeds of" the law (works / deeds are the same Greek word, ergon). Where it's obvious (or should be obvious) the translator frequently used just "works". So, let's examine Romans 3:19-20: 19 Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. If even the Jew, who has access to the law, is guilty of transgression..."all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Rom 3:23)...how much more the rest of the world who do not even know who God is. 20 Therefore by the "deeds of the law" (Mishnah) there shall no flesh be JUSTIFIED in his sight: for by the law (Torah) is the knowledge of sin. (See 1 Jn 3:4) We know that "deeds of the law" cannot be the same as "law" here because Paul previously stated: 13 (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the DOERS OF THE LAW SHALL BE JUSTIFIED. (Rom 2:13) Many places in the NT, we see this "dichotomy of expression" between Mishnah (Judaism) and Torah pursuance which confuses Christians. Paul is frequently contrasting the two theologies in his epistles. Do me a favor and google mitzvah and notice that it refers to a "good work" and also, (Torah) "commandment". So, one form of this dichotomy of expression is "works" (of the law) vs "good works" (see Eph 2:8-10) This is a little out of order, but in the same context as mitzvah. Let's examine your hypothesis that Abraham didn't pursue Torah. Note the following passage: 4 And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; 5 Because that Abraham OBEYED MY VOICE, and KEPT my charge, my COMMANDMENTS (mitzvoth, plural of mitzvah), my STATUTES (chuqqim), and my LAWS (toratot). (Gen 26:4,5) So Abraham was keeping the Torah given to him ORALLY even before it was given at Sinai. There are other evidences I can provide to push Torah pursuance back to the garden of Eden. Thus, Torah has always been present and will be present in the Millennial Kingdom (Ez 33-48). This is probably a good place to take a break. Shalom

This corruption of the Torah (Law) is what Paul condemns...not the true Torah of Scripture...as evidenced by the terms works / deeds of the law, or just works. So, when you get to Galatians 5:4, you need to ask, in context, what law is Paul speaking about? Thus, the true NT dichotomy is that of Mishnah vs Torah and not Torah vs no Torah. So, let's go through the first six verses of Galatians chapter five. 1 Stand fast therefore in the LIBERTY wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the YOKE OF BONDAGE. [25 But whoso looketh into the perfect LAW OF LIBERTY, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful HEARER, but a DOER OF THE WORK, this man shall be blessed in his deed. (James 1:25)....remember Rom 2:13?] [43 And take not the word of truth utterly out of my mouth; for I have hoped in thy judgments. 44 So shall I keep thy LAW continually for ever and ever. 45 And I will walk at LIBERTY: for I seek thy precepts. (Ps 119:43-45)] [YOKE OF BONDAGE is the same issue in Acts 15:10. Note that this cannot be the Torah because the four things in Acts 15:20 come directly from Torah.] 2 Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing. 3 For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law. [2 Behold, I Paul tell you that if you follow after the circumcision, your faith in Messiah will be for nothing. 3 For I tell you truly that those of the circumcision are slaves to Jewish law and the traditions of men. Note: If Paul was so adamantly against the physical act of circumcision, why in the world would he consent to circumcise Timotheus in Acts 16?] 4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are JUSTIFIED BY THE LAW; ye are fallen from grace. [13 (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the DOERS OF THE LAW shall be JUSTIFIED. (Rom 2:13) So, Paul contradicts himself here??? Paul actually wrote more than that one verse but this one verse is all that people know. Everyone thinks they have faith but yet they do not obey the commandment of faith.

You are confused. Salvation is a one off event where you are born again and saved for eternity (because that’s God’s grace and not of ourselves) Sanctification is a life long endeavour which relies on us to obey God’s word and follow his commandments. I.e walking in the Spirit

Grace is NOT merited favor. We don't earn grace. You negate whole meaning of grace with trying to work for it. It's not Gospel of Christ Jesus.... Obedience doesn't build salvation...it flows from it.
