The thing that made this scene for me wasn't Morgana, but his speech. It kinda hit close to home to how I percieve things. My younger brother was in love with Mona though and bawwled his eyes out. It's a good scene for different reasons, yeah.
BakaSnake Nah. I love Morgana and I love Teddie. Both have same roles and both were shadows too, but they also are completely different too. To each their own.
Cooker Product I thought ti was sad because it was basically saying you failed the people of Japan as well as your friends. And also it as sad because you could see the sadness in Morgana's face because he thought it was his fault.
What made that scene go from nightmare inducing to sad was Morgana watching everyone die and thinking it was all his fault. Makoto's delivery of "Morgana...What did we do wrong?" was also heart breaking.
Tryhardblackguy For me the saddest scene was handing over your journal over to coffee dad. That's when it felt like the game was truly coming to an end for me.
This scene nearly broke me, Morgana was my favorite character despite the fact he can be a butthead sometimes. I'm a sucker for cats and I love the little fucker. *spoiler* So glad he comes back though.. :')
Yeah this made me sad too. I actually liked Morgana. He was very wise and knew a lot about the world. If he wasn't in the game, the characters would be lost and wouldn't know what to do with their powers.
The saddest part for me was when the phantom thief’s started to disappear because no one believed in them, I also thought the part where akechi dies was pretty sad
this scene hit me the hardest out of any of them, because i had already accepted the fact that destroying the metaverse would probably kill morgana since he was born there.... seeing him fade away like that made me sob like a baby
The reason Morgana does not come back immediately after his fake out death/vanish is because he remembers what happened to Ryuji when he faked the girls out at Shido’s palace....
I saw this scene for the first time today when I completed the game. Not gonna lie, seeing Morgana disappear was heartbreaking. I felt like a lost a close friend. I was so glad to see him return though.
At first I cried then realized I saw the ending already just actually seeing the game then I saw Morgana come back and I wanted to punch him for not coming back immediately
Why you did you think he didn’t come back immediately? Of course it’s because he remembered what happened to Ryuji after he faked everyone out, and Morgan’s would rather save his own spine. Smart Cat
I mean, Morgana Literally Says Why he didn’t just come back. He had just said goodbye. It would be kinda dimwitted for a person to just come back right after saying goodbye.

I started plain out sobbing at this. At the final fight I was crying from joy, but this bit oh fuck me. I was sobbing my eyes out. (Spoiler if you haven’t gotten past this scene yet) As soon as Mona came back I threw my controller and started absolutely crying my eyes out for a solid five minutes.
I was crying during this part. No matter how much the gremlin cat pissed me off I actually really like him, and WHEN JOKER REACHED OUT FOR HIM EVEN MORE TEARS CAME OUT
okay so i knew morgana wouldn’t die and everything, but in the animation part of it, i cried so hard. when mona did that little speech, it meant so much to me. it just shows how there’s always hope, even i the darkest situation imaginable. you can always make things work, there’s never a “dead end”... and when he said “there’s no ‘real world’” i felt something inside of me that i can’t exactly describe. it’s like every palace just flew before my eyes. and it was the most depressing yet surreal feeling that i’ve ever experienced. this game has changed my life, i’m not even kidding.
@@moriomorio but the first time you play the game, you don't know that. And need I remind you... there's no such thing as the "real" world. What each person sees and feels- those are what shape reality.
Morgana knows to pull his punches when he's being a jerk to Ryuji though, unlike vice versa. When Ryuji totally fucks up and exposes them to Makoto, he doesn't say anything, because he knew Ryuji would feel like he had failed his team a second time (first track, now them). So he just goes "it's fine, this isn't a fatal mistake."
Having to hold my tears back because there were parents watching me play LUL Morgana you son of a bitch, you scared me to death for dissapearing like that, i thought you were gone :(
Replaying royal right now, this scene even tho ive seen it twice before, made me burst into tears and i had to head to the porch for a smoke. It hit so hard because my beloved deaf cat died a few months ago and it destroyed me for a good month or two.
I don't know about saddest but probably 2nd saddest because the scene where everyone dies or disappears got me balling my eyes out I thought I failed the game AGAIN. It was just so emotional. I love this game
I've just finished the game as a first play through.... this game has really set a new standard for story based games! Morgana was my favourite throughout... I didn't expect the entirety of the last Palace's affect and dramatic crescendo up until this moment... and I certainly didn't think I'd ever cry... but man, I was gutted the moment I worked out the history of the Holy Grail, and how this game parallels to our reality in real life.... just wow! What a fantastic, thought provoking game... or... alternate reality, I don't know. 10/10 from me.
after this scene, i was like "i have a feeling morgana isnt dead" now that i think about it, morgana's disappearing is just like ryuji's fake death scene, but more dramatic
While most of the time I prefer JP voice over EN dub, this is one of the few time where I love both. All of the VAs conveyed the emotion in this scene very well.
Holy crap. I was so excited to see the percentage for the Phantom Thieves soar up to 100%, legit got chills when Joker whipped out his gun with Satanael doing the same, was so shook when I realized that Joker literally took down a freaking god, and was jumping up and down when we got the treasure. Morgana "dying" had me sobbing and Joker reaching up to him as the freaking cat was fading away didn't help. I was so pissed when Morgana came back alive, but I became happy again that he did. I stayed up until 4 AM and was a bipolar mess once the credits rolled in.
It's always sad to end a great game where you feel like the characters have become real friends you experienced a journey with and now have to leave behind.
