The connection to Leviticus blew my mind!

Weird thought. But I lived in Wisconsin as a child. Salt also melts away ice/cold. Cold is the lack of warmth. Salt is tossed on the slippery ground, so that we may walk without falling. 🤔

Salt has some associations with wisdom/humility/pride. Jesus asked do you have enough salt to contend with the yeast of the Pharisees? Jesus also referred to himself as the good yeast. So we can see that bread will rise (perhaps is the rock growing to the mountain (Peter and the Catholic Church)) if we add the right amount of salt to the flour water and yeast. Too much salt (wisdom turning to pride) and the yeast (word of God) is killed. Yet a little salt (wisdom and humility) kills the bad yeast (bacteria(false doctrines))... ...it’s slightly cumbersome to explain because we have symbolism embedded in symbolism but if it is grasped, it can be see as a simple and elegant pattern of reality.

I heard salt of inedible kinds from the dead sea was literally salt of the earth and used to cover excrement - if taken this way we could be told to be like the minority of good people who might evoke God's mercy to all, like God told Abraham. Same sort of general concept - we are elected for the sake of all an impure world. I would like to know how far this goes as encouragement that maybe our faith can work for the salvation of our unbelieving neighbours?

Given all this, why is the bread of Passover, and the Eucharistic bread, free of salt? Is it just the image of a penitential or unembellished bread? Anyone know if there's more to it?

why did Dr. Pitre skip the feast of the Presentation of Jesus? Wasn't that the Sunday reading for Feb. 2? Just wondering, we would have learnt much from his learned explanations of why Joseph & Mary had to go to the temple, etc.

They treat them completely different when they grow up, and take them as their wives leaving me completely powerless. Salt is not flavour but necessary for life and without salt (God) there is no life. The Apostles sent to reveal the light of the world (Jesus).

In before self proclaimed Bible experts, who can't even agree with each other on what the Bible says, but all agree that the Catholic Church is unbiblical. (Because that makes sense)
