Minecraft has many creepy and strange things, either from the game itself or loaded onto the game thanks to the fandom.
However, I believe one, often forgotten, part of minecraft is the most unnerving thing of all.
The End Dimension.
Editing and Script by me.
Voice by Dipper.
Due to my PC being an absolute potato, I took some shots of the end from other videos, credited.

Funnily enough both the overworld and the end were both like this in one point in time. Before the nether update, and in the alpha and beta days, they too were just endless worlds with nothing out there to see. There were no villages, bastions, or anything like that. You were the only one who could do anything, truly alone.

That was deep. I've never liked The End, but I've just never really thought about it. Guess I have an answer.

I like the idea of the End being a dead world at the end of its lifespan, like it somehow exists outside of the normal flow of time and is instead located at the cold, dark end of the universe itself, when every star has died and nothing but unrecognizable "lifeforms" remain, void of any culture, architecture, or history.

The end really is terrifying. And that's a good reason why it SHOULDN'T be updated to add more biomes.

it is part of the end game, after getting to killing the dragon there is nothing aside from end cities, it NEEDS a revamp, i got what you mean't like it's not a enjoyable place nor a place where you would actually like to explore nor wander around, but that's exactly why it needs a revamp because it's just a empty place with random cities and NOTHING, A COMPLETE VOID WITHOUT ANYTHING PLEASANT , so yeah ; - ; it needs an update, it's the end-game after all and it sucks specially the fight agaisn't the dragon, ender dragon AI sucks

This is a really well made video, it's a different interpretation from what I've typically heard around Minecraft and it's hidden fear factor.

But, in the end (ironic), the End’s true scariest part isn’t its enemies or its boss; it’s the emptiness that you are reminded constantly exists beneath you. It is a resemblance of human nature - that in the striving for grasps of power, the player will disregard all of their humanity to achieve their goals, becoming like the void: motionless, devoid of emotion, and immutable. The void is inaccessible through normal means in the overworld and the nether. If you die in the nether, you may lose all of your stuff in lava, and that’s scary, but you know where it went: the lava. But in the End, the void has no such properties of identification. If you fall into the void, there is no survival - of anything. Netherite gear cannot survive the void. And, ironically, the only hope for players tends to be the elytra, a metaphorical representation of the lengths that Icarus will go to to reach the sun - or power. The void is not a safe environment for anything. Entities thrown in do not die - they cease to exist. Player-like entities, such as mobs, can survive, like the player, for a finite amount of time, but even in creative mode, death - both mental and physical - is inevitable. … also the bridges I make are one block wide and I don’t like spending a lot of time on them so i run on them and then let go of my mouse to scratch my face and then i fall off into the void and damn it Anyways, good video. I believe that you have truly grasped the horror one must embrace when they look upon the face of the abyss, and the abyss stares back.
@app4832
@app4832 8 месяцев назад
I think it's also pretty ironic the only mob that can survive the void is the Ender Dragon

not anymore, really. now -- the entire end is full of end islands and end cities. back before 1.9 it was really empty. 921 quintillion blocks of air and around 1.15 million endstone, coupled with 10,000-15,000+ obsidian on average and some amount of bedrock filling the entire dimension. i never thought of it as scary though. it's calming even.
@deltawastaken
@deltawastaken 8 месяцев назад
@@tetrisbit There is some calm to be seen in the de-existence of everything, but does that not scare you, too? That you’re looking at your future-that you’re looking at THE End? The End is not just the end of Minecraft. It’s a symbolic representation of the universe and all life inside of it. If we even live to see the day, we’ll eventually just be consumed by the never-ending void that expands between our own atoms, forcing bonds to break and entropy to increase, until, eventually, there is nothing. Nothing but quarks, if those can even be considered something. But at the same time, maybe you see rebirth. A place that, where one player’s story ends, another’s begins. The End is just a blank canvas for the next journey to start. The final page of the book the same as the first. … I don’t know, that’s just how I feel. I can see it as calming, but not while I play. It feels like my real life (and not just a few hours of game time) depends on the squandering count of blocks in my inventory and the measly width of the bridge below my feet. I feel as if I would fall into madness should I tame my focus even for an instant. The music, a distorted variation of the overworld’s, can be nothing but exemplary to this feeling. Ironically, I find the Nether to be quite calming. Its vast lakes of shimmeringly hot fluid rock and its magma-welded shores… it stirs warmth in my soul. On the other hand, the Deep Dark can be scary. But only in the traditional horror game ways. It is uncreative in that sense, but I do not mind it. Yes, the void is rather foreboding indeed. I rather miss its large vastness, and yet I scarcely would want it back at the same time.

This is the exact feeling that minecraft gave in the early versions. Feeling of emptiness. Most of the players are not spending enough time in there to feel this tho

Yes! Even aside from the creepy vibes the End dimension has always given me, mechanically it truly is the only danger you can never be prepared enough for. You can never be decked out enough to survive The Void.

You know what? I think you're right. Every part of minecraft that's ever been deemed scary is only scary until you learn what it is and how to deal with it. All the other scary things are merely challenges to overcome, and if you've overcome them once, you can always do it again. And again. And again. And _again._ The warden DOES still pop into my mind when I think of the scariest things in minecraft, but I'm sure it's only because it's still pretty new to me... I kinda wish they had kept the deep dark and ancient cities a secret when they added it to the game. Can you imagine the reaction we'd all have if they just added the deep dark _without telling anyone???_ Part of the charm of the earlier days of minecraft was never knowing what to expect in every update, only finding out by experiencing it for yourself or hearing it from a friend. That's why Herobrine was so terrifying. Nobody knew anything about the updates, for all anyone knew he COULD have been real back then. The fog that used to blanket the world felt like it had such horrors hidden within it, all the way up until it was basically removed. But the void has always been there. It's been there from the very beginning, yet it's still just as terrifying. It is constant. It is absolute. And if you aren't careful enough... If you get cocky, and you fly too close to the sun... If you try to push beyond the limits, and you slip up... *_It will swallow you whole._*

Imagine if they didn't show anything about the Deep Dark and only added the note to the update: added the deep dark
@DezAmmySel
@DezAmmySel 8 месяцев назад
@@CaptainPointless EXACTLY. The sheer chaos and terror that would ensue... They need to start hiding things again!!! I feel like not only would it have made the deep dark more effective and interesting, but it would bring back a LOT of excitement for the updates. I get that it opens up a risk that fans will be disappointed at what is added, but that's already a risk anyway.
@DezAmmySel
@DezAmmySel 8 месяцев назад
@@CaptainPointless Even more terrifying, they could have just put the note as: Added the Warden. People woulda been wondering what the heck it is, theorizing to the nether and back, getting intimidated by the name, and then once they've found their answer.... it's too late.

In creative mode you can’t survive the void, but ironically, just by cheating with a command and giving you resistance 4 you can… You still fall forever, but you can at least survive it lol

This is the reason why i like the end as it is, a dimension forgotten... Broken. Maybe, though, mojang should add dertoyed structures (like fallen endships or old strongolds that were trials to get back in the overworld) and increasing the difficutly of the ender dragon fight, maybe giving him a smarter AI. Still, i really like the end as it is and rendering it a dimesnion like post 1.16 nether would probably kill it's identity. Btw, great video as always.

Thanks, and although I really like the End the way it is now from an atmosphere standpoint, gameplay wise it is kind of not fun, which is why it does need some overhaul.

5:31 what your discribing is oblivion, the end of everything the end of not just a sociaty or even just the end of humanity, but the end of thought and memory and time and meaning... for many this is the greatest fear there can be... the oblivion of death for most, but for very forward thinking people, the oblivion at the end of the universe... when the last star dies, after all other lights have gone out.
@CaptainPointless

there are few things more universaly terrifying than the end of self, the end of the universe or as its often called heat death or entropy is the end of everyones self... forever, even for someone like me that doesint value my own life i value things like hope in the future, in new generations, and the legacy we can leave behind to enrich and impact and inspire them, but with oblivion, the end of everything all that potential melts away, what meaning can a legacy have when no future generations will ever live to see it, what hope can exist when the universe itself has died.@@CaptainPointless
