Put large pads under the jack stands. Had the ground sink when my sprinklers went on while I was sleeping. Expensive lesson.

Timmy, we had a 1969 truck camper, and probably to save money, it only had 3 jacks which were hand cranked. My Dad was very handy so he made a rig that fit over the part that you cranked, then welded a piece on it so it fit a 1/2” drill chuck. What an improvement over cranking that sucker by hand. My Dad would have loved this rig, but the cost would have stopped him dead cold. His new 1969 ford pickup was $2,250.00 brand new, the 11’ camper was about $1,300. Those jacks look expensive but sweet

Timmy, My interests are off road camping. I’ve been watching since I saw you with Phil. I wanted to tell you how much I have enjoyed your adventures. I especially enjoyed watching you snowmobile and shoot the rapids. You have expanded my understanding of the sports and given me a glimpse of Alaska. I’m impressed with your camper as well. Thank you

Great video. Jacks work great. House is looking fresh. I’ve got 3 of those portable AC units. I find that the amount of heat that comes from the hose is crazy. I wish they’d make a insulated hose. Sometimes I’ll wrap a small blanket around the hose to insulate it. Safe travels. Good luck on fuel prices.

I was waiting for this episode !! I commented a while back on your video about the new Jack's you bought and about knowing the struggles of removing camper on lifted truck. Those things are bad ass !!! And that's exactly what I need. So worth it eh ! Thanks for showing them in action.....oh !, and your camper is bad ass as well. Real quick, so you have a visual of my set up....I have an old Palomino pop up Originally from Alaska. It is painted to match my 2019 lifted Ram 1500 with Granite colour. The Camper has also done Route 66 twice. That's all the background of it I have. I've owned it for 3 years now and it's an amazing camper, and I basically live in it for 6 months out of the year here on Vancouver Island. Keep en coming buddy ! Love your content !

Hey Timmy, guess how we went from manual to (POWERED JACKS)? My Dad took the hand cranks, welded a post in the center of the square female socket part of the jack. Then, out comes the 1/2” heavy duty drill. We had to do a little to each one to not get too tipsy. Sounds antiquated in 2022, but 1969-1970 it beat the heck out of hand cranking in summertime.

We miss our Lance truck camper. But I don't miss the feeling that it's going to fall over every time I'd take it off the truck. Always a stressful moment. Great to hear you will be doing the road trip come fall. With gas prices coming back down we hope your plans stay on track. We took a break from our F350 and picked up a 2019 Ford Ranger and picked up a Roof Top Tent. Fun but different. 🙂 We enjoyed the last road trip. Mark (& Teresa)

From South Africa my experience with turnbuckle (3.8m semi rigid rubber duck on trailer, 1 on the bow and 2 on the stern) is that they turn loose. My roadside fix was to lace chord through the middle, and tied off. My permanent fix was butterfly /wing nuts on the R threaded side as a locknut used a pliers to tighten. Ever checked the tension on yours ? Might be a nasty surprise waiting for you
