The Apostle Paul and his view of the Law is controversial. In this short video, I hope to show that one must first understand Paul's opponents to understand him right.
thank you for this video, I have wondered about examples including and like this regarding Paul. can you please make or include in a video and explanation about the conflicting accounts on the road to Damascus given in acts? what is your opinion on the infallibility/inerrancy of the bible? I find myself wondering these things and would love to see a video on it. keep up the great content.
I will definitely add that to the list! Thanks for the recommendation. I will put together a video about the Infallibility of Scripture. Good stuff. Thanks!
Jesus was the greatest logician there ever was? That strikes me as a very odd claim. I'm confused about you making that claim for Paul too, but at least we have some writing of Paul, albeit not of a particularly logical nature, much more mystical and rhetorical.
The Apostle Paul understood how to argue and so did Jesus. That’s what I meant. Pit your opponents against each other and reduce them to absurdity. Paul’s masterful “Modus Tollens” argument in 1 Corinthians 15 is a good example of this.
@@orangeandslinky I’m not sure I disagree? Do you know what I am saying? I am teaching that the Law taught faith in Christ Jesus. The Law’s Purpose (telos) was Faith in Christ (Mt.23:23, John 5:45, etc). Even if God gave a million commandments, the Christian life is to live by faith and seek His precepts. It’s by faith, it always has been.
@@SLS859 "No one ever claimed [that the Law could save]." Sadly, it appears as though you haven't understood Paul's opponents at all! They said this. They tried to live (even eternally) by the law.
