Lost 75 lbs. It took two years to lose about 80% of loose skin. Fasting/autophagy, a lot of repeated 48-72 hr fasts did the trick. Even if it didn't help I'd rather look like a hanging sack of skin than drag around 75 lbs of lard again.
Im curious, are you still overweight after that 75 pound weight loss? Are you perhaps older? Or did you lose it through other means besides fasting? Usually loose skin only comes with 100 pound plus weight loss.
@@formerlyfred-ue2ey I personally don’t know how much age affects autophagy. Interesting question. As someone who has done a few 72 hour fasts, I know they aren’t fun 😂
@@inca3370 yes, but how can you be a doctor and not be interested in the role of nutrition for human health. what kind of people are they, mom made them be doctors so they are, but nothing more
Honestly ‘talking to your doctor’ about doing anything ‘alternative’ is like talking to a lawyer. They just don’t want to get sued and end up handing you an outdated food pyramid print out from the 1950s. I hate our medical system. I hate it.
Exactly. I have a good Naturopath, thank goodness. But after years of trying to figure out what was wrong with me, I know more about how to get my body healthy than anyone. I found the same issue with my kitty's vet. I have to be his doctor now, barring emergencies.
Been there done that. I lost lots of weight through the Keto diet and I shrank my loose skin using OMAD induced autophagy. It took five years but worked perfectly. I am much happier and have a much clearer head. I am 68.
Yes thank you I am 63 been doing pretty clean keto no sugar very little starch very little preservatives kinda cheat with fruit I was doing omad for awhile ugh but went to two meals aday and more calories than I should Thanks for the encouragement I will get back to healthy omad I am not happy with my loose skin
"Checking with your doctor" is a good strategy of getting discouraged doing a fast in the first place. Hardly any doctor will recommend fasting for reasons of liability. On top of it often lends people to just rely on the personal opinion of their doctor while disregarding everything else available on the internet.
@@mjohnson1741 Read Dr Jason Fung Dr. Annette Bosworth. Switch to a low carb/keto diet, then skipping a meal will become easy. Slowly shift to fasting 24 hours, then 36 hours. Water, coffee, tea, and salt/electrolytes - salty broth, dill pickle juice, no sugar electrolyte mix.
@@XtremiTeez Interesting...I wasn't asking you? Thank God because you're rude. The video is about fasting, thanks?Notice I asked the person to elaborate further?
@@mjohnson1741, it doesn't look like the original poster is going to respond but not eating is the only way to go. You can drink water and unsweetened tea/coffee only. You'll want to stay on top of your electrolytes though as it will make it easier and won't break your fast. Sodium is the big one with potassium and magnesium to a lesser extent. The first 48 hours are brutal so if you want quicker results, go for a five day fast. On the third day and beyond you should lose your hunger and feel really good. If you're hungry or feel bad, it's because you're low on electrolytes. You can also take psyllium husk tablets to keep your gut flora happy which should also help. A couple a day should be fine. Best wishes and just know that you're doing the right thing in losing that weight. The loose skin will go but take an extra year or two. Stick to your guns.
I’m 50 years old and lost 150 pounds from size 22 to a 2 and tightened the skin with OMAD intermittent fasting and a plant-based diet. I’ve sustained this practice and the weight loss along with beating terminal brain cancer for seven years (every day) this February. If I can be of assistance with my personal experience let me know. Grateful to be in optimal health and fitness without being a gym rat at fifty years young, Julie Marie Christensen
That's wild that you did all that on a plant based diet, seeing how much nutrition you give up without eating meat. Also, nutrients in plants isn't very bioavailabile. Did you supplement with b12, k2, carnitine, etc?
@@thomasdaubert1114 eating dead rotting flesh does not have nutrients for humans.. But will actually bring on dis-ease. It's not even our instinct to eat animals. We were told in organized society to eat them. We have not been taught our true species specific diet, and that we are actually Frugivores.
@sallycrawford2729 you've obviously been brainwashed, sorry for your loss. Probably not much there to begin with. Most vegans even admit meat has more bioavailabe nutrition, but they choose to starve their bodies. And none of the flesh I eat is rotting, it's usually very fresh.
Thank you Healthy Dr. Agree 100%! Regardless of scientific researches I am living example: Intermittent fasting and autophagy helped me to lost 21 kg in 4 months without excess skin. Blessings 🥰😇🙏
I dont belive autophagy maxes out at 36 hours. I saw peoples scars disappear, this does not happen with 36 hours of fasting. It takes weeks to really clean up your body. 36hour fasts once a week are great but at the beginning 7- 20 days are best to get the waste out. The longer the better.
The 24-36hr figure is quite conservative. There's information out there suggesting that autophagy peaks between 48-60 hours. If you remove the cellular stress that triggers autophagy, the signaling molecules and phosphorylation of the relevant gene pathways resolve in a short time frame. Considering serum levels, metabolic pathways and a healthy GFR, you can estimate that the hormonal and metabolic changes induced by a 24 hour fast will mostly resolve within 4 hours after breaking it, and it's unclear how long autophagy continues after that point. Theoretically, ideal fasting time appears to be between 4-5 days, with some utility for longer fasts when used sparingly. Obviously you can't maintain these types of fasts without significantly extending the refeed window to avoid malnutrition, and as you extend fasts beyond a week, refeeding syndrome becomes a serious consideration. Also, daily intake of carefully measured electrolytes is a must, particularly in regards to K+, as too much or too little can quickly become life-threatening. The other concerns are activity and hydration, for if you push yourself too hard physically during a fast or fail to consume enough water, AKI, acidosis, rhabdomyolysis, and hyperkalemia become real concerns. Also, be weary of long fasts when on medication. For example, if you are hypertensive and on medication to treat it, engaging in extended fasting without modifying dosages can result in a sudden, dangerous loss of blood pressure, tachycardia, arrhythmia, angina, and death. Finally, for dry fasting, I recommend simply avoiding them as they're extremely dangerous. If you do go for dry fasts, 2-3 days is an appropriate limit, and you should probably never exceed 5 days. You should do them only when you are already in good health and well-hydrated, not taking medications, can avoid physical activity, and can remain in a cool, comfortable environment. Even then, there's a very high risk of damage to the internal organs, particularly the kidneys. If you engage in physical activity or can't stay in a cool environment, heat stroke and brain damage is very likely to result. You're really better off just never doing them.
It’s my understanding that the window for 48 to 60 hours is only for those not on a low carb diet. Being in a state of ketosis allows you to enter a state of peak autophagy much earlier. At that point, an individual in a state of ketosis peaks between 24 and 36 hours.
I'm 6 months into my IF and focus on autophagy and I have lost 50 pounds with at least 30 more to go. I can vouch for the skin staying tight. I have lost weight from all over my body. My exercise regimen has been pretty mild actually. Controlling what I eat and when I eat has been key. Can't promote this enough.
It seems best to do longer fasts and not just doing IF while eating so much protein, the more protein you eat the less skin breakdown there will be , because during autophagy the body breaks down skin protein of excess skin but can’t do that if your eating every day.
Wow! I've heard Dr. Fung say that his patients who lose weight with extended fasting regimens (>24hrs) never have problems with loose skin, but I was unaware of the recent research on the subject. It's really exciting to know that there are formal studies confirming that fasting prevents loose skin!
I've been doing keto and intermittent fasting for a little over 3 months and have been doing a 4 day fast once a month have lost 26 lbs and haven't had any loose skin yet
@@timothyward5607 It's unlikely that intermittent fasting protocols like 16:8 will significantly affect loose skin because the fasting window is too short to materially increase autophagy. From what I've read, alternate day fasting (36hr fasts) has dramatically higher efficacy in this regard. For what it's worth, I've been doing ADF for 8 months now, have lost 82lbs, and have no loose skin. I also supplement collagen and vitamin C on eating days just for good measure. Granted, I'm just one guy, and it could have been luck, but I have yet to find a person doing ADF who isn't thrilled with how little loose skin they have even after 100lb+ weight loss.

Ive been dieting my entire adult life, i finally tried the clean keto and IF a couple years ago and lost 93 lbs and i dont consider this a " diet" i consider this a lifestyle and i will say IF along with sesible exercise ive lost weight and have no loose skin , i was a vegan for almost a decade and it destroyed my health and i do know that keto and IF repaired my thyroid and many other ailments
This is helpful. I've lost 70 lbs with another 70 to go. I'm including intermittent fasting along the way and I think it's helping with the loose skin problem.
Good to hear, Erika Hollister. Losing weight takes effort and know how... so good to know that through fasting/ autophagy the skin for the most part will take care of itself if you take care of you.
Excellent. And I really appreciated you asking to like/subscribe at the end. Everyone does it at the beginning before anything has been given. Cheers! :) And subscribed.
All you have to do is look at the WW2 prisoners of war and you will see no loose skin. They lost nearly all their weight and had absolutely no loose skin. It didn’t matter what country they were held in, the result was the same.
Bit insensitive to use that as an example of not getting loose skin while losing weight. My grandad was in a Japanese war camp for many years and while involuntary extended fasts and plenty of “resistance” and strength training while building that train track did result in no loose skin, it had a profound effect on mental health, severe malnutrition and many were given the most sadistic punishments and many died. I recommend you watch a documentary on the death railway and educate yourself that this is an awful example of autophagy in action
@@plotanimation3817that was just an obervation, although I agree that he could have said how aweful it was to be a PoW, never mind to have survived Hitler's camps. And those are the ethics behind why such studies are not possible today - not so much what might happen to the volunteers, rather in memory of those who suffered starvation and died.
I'm glad for you. Good on ya. Five years into incredibly steady intermittent fasting and some 36-48 hour fasts, and the chin skin and bat wings are still just as big as ever. It will take some concentrated autophagy.
@@tyanite1 Try a 40 day fast. But do a carnivore, 2-3 week prime before that (Storing as much fat solible nutrients as possible) so that the 40 day fast becomes effortless. And the last 3 days of the 40 day fast, do it dry fasting. This should significantly reduce your sagging skin
There's not significant autophagy up to 36 hours of fasting, especially if you're doing a normal to high carb diet up to the start of your fast. Between 36-72 hours is when autophagy gets started. Three days of low carbs before the fast and you are at least 24 hours ahead when you stop all calories. Not everyone can fast right away. If you're insulin resistant or have other chronic issues like high blood pressure, you will need to monitor your ketones, bp and blood sugar as you go. Everything should be steady and you should be feeling really good. If not, you're mot ready for fasting. If you aren't ready, start with 24 hours and add around 4 hours per attempt until every indicator looks good. In addition to starting with 24 hours when you go for extended fasting, establish an easting window (intermittent fasting) religiously, every day. These together, not just just one of them alone, will get you ready for extended fasting. It's no casual thing. Ease into it and watch your body for signs of trouble.
@@disinformationworld9378 Read again. The key operand is significance. Mine was not a binary statement. Autophagy is present with OMAD, but is not significant.
With regard to your videos- MORE PLEASE!! I’m a 7 month (successful), 64 y.o. carnivore. 36 hour fasts (bi-weekly) make me feel great!! I only had 20 pounds to lose (gone), but the little bit of loose skin remaining is something I’d like to continue working on -the 36 hour fasts really seem to help! Great info, thanks!!
I did this protocol with wet and dry fasting while on mounjaro (which controlled the hunger cravings and insulin resistance. I lost 130 lbs in one year and I am 135 lbs now and barely have any extra skin.
While sitting in the exam chair my physician said "keto is a fad diet and does not result in weight loss" as I sat there literally 130 lbs lighter. Unfortunately MDs are very hard to make a point or explore a suggestion. Some DOs are more willing but sounds like the same red tape keeps them from working with patients who want to do multi day fasts. Nutritionists that specialize in water fasting seem to be the best bet if there is no physician that supports this in your area. The closest I could find was way too many miles away. Best of luck to everyone.
I love IF and have done extended fasts because of Insulin resistance. Years of ignorance and lack of understanding and misdirection concerning SAD. LCHF and Keto have changed life. Or, correctly given me my life back - better.
About 5 years ago, I dropped 42kg (about 90 pounds), in a six month period. I did lots of slow walking, stretching and postural exercising. I started intermittent fasting and eventually progressed to omad. To my surprise and delight, I have no loose skin and in fact, my skin looks very much healthier than before. I am not sure if it was the excersize or the fasting that did the trick. I suspect it was the fasting. I also drank lots of fizzy mineral water with apple cider vinegar. I hope this info is of help to anyone having problems with loose skin and weight loss
@@ianstuart5660 Hi Ian. I was neither keto nor carnivore, just intermittent fasting which progressed to one meal a day. I was careful to avoid junk food and stuffed up on salads etc which I found quite appetizing when you are starving. Saturdays were a free for all, when I would eat whatever I wanted including copious amounts of whisky and beer (polish tyskie beer and Scottish whisky). Over the years, i can get through the weekend without bingeing, but still have a good drink on a Saturday. As I am now retired, I spend my spare time skiing on the artificial slope in Edinburgh. I can now ski better than I did 30 years ago and hope to make further improvements. Hope this info is helpful to you and I wish you luck in your health and fitness journey.
How long do you do that for? I haven't tried that yet. I've been doing 3 day fasts once a week now for 6 weeks and love to pound water while doing it, so couldn't imagine removing the water too.
Most doctors are there only to prescribe drugs!!! Which will in turn make your health worse. They need much more training on Fasting and healthy eating.
If you get into autophagy, how fast working is it, does it clean a small area, or nibble away at problem areas, or does it require you keep doing it for a longish period IE months, to have any noticeable effect. I can't imagine it would clean house overnight.
Think of it (autophagy) as a means to an end. Autophagy "cleans up" intracellular debris, then allowing cells to function better. In the case of fibroblasts, its thought that its the better functioning fibroblasts that are then able to increase elastin and collagen production in the skin.
You made a very careful but not too limiting statement about autophagy induced by fasting. Unless one has serious health conditions intermittent fasting is ideal for people with jobs and a social life and family. Longer fasts need more set-ups.
I don't know about set ups. I already have water, coffee and Salt (Himalayan). I've done 4-5 72 hr fasts, but mainly stick to 30-36 at least once a month and do OMAD or 20 hr most days. I exercise fasted 4-5x a week, too.
What if you are not overweight but wish to fast to induce autophagy so as to eliminate cellular debris (misfolded proteins, damaged organelles) and even senescent cells? How do you balance this with maintaining or growing muscle mass (MTOR pathway balance). Does one cycle autophagy with growth periods? If so are there suggested protocols?
Your advice about talking to your doctor before beginning a diet program sounds pretty boilerplate. Please find me a doctor that knows anything about nutrition. I haven't found one and a doctor is the last person I'm going to talk to about nutrition. Sad but there it is. I'm sure I could get a prescription for a weight loss medication if I wanted one, pharmaceuticals are always available.... Sad!
I am 31 years old and have 107 lbs to lose. I am a little worried about the loose skin but with fasting, dry brushing, drinking a lot of water, lifting weights, and moisturizing my skin daily I feel confident I won't get any loose skin. I lost 6lbs in one week, 101lbs to go.
@pinkcloudgirly I haven't been on the scale lately. I'm focusing on my discipline and eating healthy. Currently I just started taking fasting 3 times a week seriously to improve my discipline. I'm not going to lose anything if I lack self control so that is what I'm learning.
I have just stumbled Dr. Martinez's RU-vid channel and am impressed. I am interested in autophagy, multi day fasting, and intermittent fasting. I have also been on a healthy Keto lifestyle (not diet) for the past 8 months. I've lost 45 lbs. and am now at my ideal weight. 5'10" and 150lbs. I am 66 years old and feel better than I did when I was 30. I just subscribed and clicked the notification bell. Looking forward to your future videos. Good luck with your channel.
Sal, sounds like were going down the same road. I am 66 and started intermittent fasting, keto and the gym 7 months ago, I am 6' tall and now weigh 174 (still like to lose another 10 lbs.) but I have lost 37 lbs. so far. My blood pressure and blood sugar have improved dramatically and I feel like a new person, I just wanted to say I wish I could have know about this five years ago.
@@robertcarey3383 5 years ago? How about 20 years ago. My doctor is amazed. He doesn't know how sustainable a keto diet can be. I'm here to prove him wrong! I told him I don't consider it a diet I consider it a lifestyle.
I have lost about 25 lb on carnivore. I go for walks every day with my dog, and get physical exercise running a business. I have never had issues with loose skin, and as my fat deposits are shrinking, my skin is just kind of shrinking along with it. The only place that isn't shrinking enough in my opinion is my cleavage skin lol! That never seems too tighten up enough to my liking. 😊. I am 59 years old, and have rheumatoid arthritis. But on the carnivore diet most days I feel like I'm in my 20s and have very little pain (I am on medications for the rheumatoid arthritis, but the carnivore diet has helped additionally in this regard). I have heard that slow weight loss allows the skin to shrink along with the fat. I don't know if there is a point at which the skin gets stretched so much that this is no longer the case. Judging from my cleavage, I would say that there is a point at which the skin cannot shrink back to its prior state without intervention.
This Def works. Ive lost with Excercise and Low calorie intake ive lost 65lbs and Everything is getting tighter and im 51. I eat in a 3 hr window and fast the rest for anyone wanting to know.
Doc, how long should I fast? Answer: "OMG, you'll kill yourself----grazing is best, so eat at least 7x a day." Ouch. I really wish there was good data on fast time vs autophagy. I'm on a 3-day fast right now. At 18 hours my blood ketone level was 2.7, at 48-hours 2.8, at 62-hours 4.8. Therefore IF ketone levels are indicative of autophagy for me, at least a 3-day fast is best. What is really fascinating is that once I'm at 48-hours, I could go, literally, for a week. I suspect the trick is get blood ketones above 2.4 or so, they are the "Ozempic" of the body.
Thank you. I'm in my early seventies and was for a while quite morbidly obese. Through running and low carb'ing I've dropped over 75lbs, more now, probably. Yup, I've got plenty of the loose skin I'd like to get rid of. Thanks for showing the histology. I learned my histology in the early eighties and didn't learn, or forgot, that fibroblasts are specific to adipose tissue. I recall them being pleuripotential cells much like/as stem cells. But now I see that they are specific for producing collagen (elastin, too?) and skin health, skin being our body's largest organ. Low carb'ing has really helped me to control my eating and controlling my diabetes.
I'm nearly 40 and weigh 338lbs. I am half caucasian/asian male. Been obese for nearly 10 years. I want to lose weight but I am fearful of loose skin. I was told age, genetics and time spent obese play a serious factor. I guess what I am trying to say is, how do I start? Is there a way to lose weight and condition the skin to repair itself gradually?
You got alot of research to do buddy. Watch Dr Jason Fung, Berg, Dr Ken Berry, Dr Sten Ekberg, Motivational Doc. I went from 330 to 230 in 6 months effortlessly. Fixed a lot of my health problems. Good luck!
Just finished 23 days there. My mom got off 4 medications and lost 22 lbs without even fasting. She wasn’t allowed to fast because of her poor health. But the diet alone did the trick.
I know the loose skin issue is upsetting and discouraging ❤ but your health, energy, quality of life is more important than the looks of your body. No matter what our dumb society tells us. You can deal with the loose skin down the line. One thing at a time.
36 hour once a week, work up to it, start with 12 hours. Skip a week if you need to. Your body will become fat adapted and it will become easy if you keep trying. Could take several attempts to get it going. If you continue your body will consume the extra skin.
I fast 24hrs a day 4-5 days a week, rest of the week i do at least a 16hr+ fast. OMAD helped me lose 8lbs all while gaining muscle at the same time. Working out fasted is much easier for me than having a semi full or full stomach.
I’m interested to hear more if possible. I’m 3 weeks into omad & like you do it 4-5 days a week. I’m down 5 kg atm . I’m afraid of losing to much weight, I’m a construction worker & work hard for 9 hours a day 5 days a week & 5 hours on a Saturday. I’ve started going to the gym this week & I’m not afraid of training 5 days a week. My plan is to train hard & eat on 2 days ( to gain muscle ) & leave one day as a flexible day then back to omad . That’s the plan , but I really have know idea how much to eat & how much protein to have or how much protein is to much . My omad meal is basically broken with raw , almonds & cashew nuts , a steak & 4 eggs & usually some turkey mince or protein powder or can of tuna for the extra protein. I have coffee with butter during the day & hemp seed oil . Not sure if that’s to much , but I feel good & slowly keep dropping weight & I think I’m gaining muscle, but it’s very early days. Hopefully that’s not to much info & it’s understandable 😁.

Doctor! What doctor! Don’t have one, and when I did, diet, or what I ate, was never mentioned. Most doctors have zero knowledge of a food diet, and that includes dietitians! They are about twenty years beyond the research, or peoples own experiences!
Thank you very much, please make a video on how not to be underweight without eating too much carb. There are lots of information on how high carb is bad, in the meantime, there are people too who struggle to gain weight without health conditions. almost all the Drs talk about how to lose weight, please help those who struggle to gain weight and have a healthy lifestyle.
I have vascular Ehlers Danlos and in the last few years, I am 58, my skin has completely collapsed. I was dieting too strictly in the last few years and wonder if in doing so I contributed to the collagen/ connective loss of the last few years. I would like to do an extended fast to see if my loose skin/ collagen would improve, but I am concerned it would only make it worse in my case.
I also have Ehlers Danlos, HEDs. I think results vary depending on the type. I am more affected in my connective tissue in my joints than anywhere else. My skin is responding well to the carnivore diet. Hopefully the loss of weight will also help with my joints, it remains to be seen what will happen when there is less weight on them, as they are very loose.
After what I categorize as malpractice, I decided (a couple years later) to intermittent fast for two reasons, one: to tighten loose skin and two: get rid of scar tissue (internally) through autophagy. I've been doing it now for almost a year and have noticed no difference in my skin. Are you saying that autophagy doesn't start until 23 hours of fasting? Because I'm doing 16 hours. If I'm not getting those benefits I'll switch to one day a week of 24 hours (or more).
Can anyone help ive got to my perfect weight, but got some lose skin,do i still fast to get Autophagy,to try and get rid of lose skin, and lose even more weight that i cant afford to lose,my wife says im looking to thin.
Thank you for the information. I do water only EF and mostly 18-23 hr IF. This was the information I was searching for. Most only focus on the weight loss and health benefits but this is a important topic also.
Fasting isn't new for yogis tho. They've done extended fasts for religious reasons and the positive changes to the brain chemistry. The West has a habit of dismissing everything as woo woo but we now know you can reset your gut serotonin with a 72 hr fast. And they promote raw dairy products for gut biome health.
I eat two to three carnivore meals a day and no snacks. Weight loss has been gradual but consistent. I have mixing in some longer stretches between meals, AKA eating one meal a day, for example. I think I've been having good autophagy doing this, as the skin sag is almost non-existent except in the cleavage area. Everyone is built differently, and results do very depending on a number of factors. The trick is to put as many of those favors in your factor. The biggest help to me has been cutting out almost all carbs out of my diet, eliminating snacks and keeping up with age appropriate exercise. If you are just starting out on this journey, talk to your doctor.
You’re on your own when it comes to eating for health. Most doctors give you nutrition 101 speeches. They want to prescribe and send you specialist because it’s all about the Benjamins. The most important thing most doctors can do is prescribe lighter doses of medicine you can take while fasting over 24 hours. Even Jason Fung who I enjoy has been fact checked by people in Biomedicine.
I do exercises and it seems to help. Including tongue lifts with the mouth closed, giraffe stretches and such. If you exercise your face muscles, they bulk up, and fill the loose areas a bit. Everyone has to make their own decisions about how they want to address aging in the face and neck. It all depends on what you're comfortable with, knowing that none of us are going to look 20 forever. If you can get comfortable with aging gracefully with health, a good grooming, you'll be a happier person overall. For everyone else, that's not quite ready to do that yet, there are other options. Personally, I never want to look like Madonna or any of the faked faced people in the media. But again, it's a matter of personal taste. Whatever one chooses, is up to them.
???? Can someone help ??? Water only fasting has always been very easy & pleasant for 42 hours three or four days per week. But more recently, whenever I try to make it to 42 hrs, I now hit a problem at exactly 39 hrs. Vision darkens when I stand up. Low blood pressure?? Low blood glucose?? Low electrolytes ??? Dehydration ???
It's due to low blood pressure and nothing to worry about. just take your time standing up from seated or prone position. I've done a 21 day fast and it began about day 3-4 and continued until I refed. Hope this helps.
So the concerns are if you take medication or suffer anorexia. I don’t for either of those but I need to drop 100 lbs. I think I’m done eating for a while. Let the reserve energy take over.
I said up above that doctors don't want you to pass because of medication but I will add this that's not all of them. Holistic minded practitioners like this gentleman here. Do you think about things that are healthy for you such as fasting
I'm been doing ADF for over a year but after 6 month I started loosing my hair, it's started with a lot itching in my scalp and then my hair started falling off in bulk. My Dermatologist did many tests and just sent me a shampoo and some vitamin supplements but unfortunately nothing works. Now I have a very thin hair and I had to cut it because almost all my long hair is gone. I don't know what else to do to stop it, even the baby hair is falling off!
Hair loss happens sometimes with women. Toxins dissolve in water or your fat, and are released into the body as the fat is broken down. Women are also hardwired to hold onto fat for the sake of surviving pregnancy during a famine. I wish you the best in this... Make sure you load up on your vitamins and hair supplements as you fast, including your fasting days. Fasting flushes minerals as you eliminate daily without the constant consumption. Hair loss is linked with general shock. Sasha Snake Diet spoke about this during her fasting weight loss process. Her channel might still be up. Keep going to lose the day because it's necessary, and you need it for your health. Your hair will come back, especially if you've never had problems with it before. From what you've described it probably isn't getting worse, so you'd rather be fit instead of heavy having to recover from the same hair issues.
try apple cider vinegar combined with increased protein at meal time, and focus on increasing nutrition. Apple cider vinegar acts like stomach acid and improves protein breakdown, meanwhile nutrition will get your stomach acid back up to speed. Eventually you can stop ACV. I did a series of prolonged fasts and ended up losing a lot of my hair too, and that is what i did to correct it (1-2 tbsp ACV in very tall glass of water, straw to back of throat to avoid contact with molars). I had bald patches, losing hundreds of strands per day. Now none of my hair comes out and its been a year.
This happened to me as well. Have you checked your cortisol levels ? Too much stress placed on the body can put the adrenals into overdrive. This was the case with me. Raised my androgen and DHT levels. I also was already fit and thin but wanted the benefits of autophagy. I do fasts every few months now. I do not do intermittent fasting as it does not work for my body type. I will sometimes eat twice a day. My hair has come back.
Red light therapy is very successful at treating thinning hair, loads of scientific papers backing this. Rosemary is well known too for its hair growth benefits boil a large bunch of Rosemary for half an hour, let it cool, spritz onto scalp. Works a treat 👍👍
Doctors don't want you to fast because that makes you a person that's not going to take the medication if they don't take the medication then the doctors don't get the perks from all the pharmaceutical companies and that is generally what the case is in fact I went ahead and did fasting, and I am no longer diabetes too. I am clear because of fasting you can find more on my channel.
Recorded at too low sound volume. I just can't hear it well enough on any of my devices. It's a shame because it sounds interesting (although I had to speed up playback to 1.75 cause delivery is too slow for me). in the future, LOUDER please. I'm not super hard-of-hearing; a lot of people hear at my level or worse. Food for thought.
In addition to adjusting the playback speed (I almost ALWAYS speed people up! 😅) you can also enable the captions. Just click the little CC button near the tool icon. Hope this helps! ☺️
Going into fasting too rapidly, especially if you have diet above lo carb level. Headaches could be salts deficiency or sugar withdrawal caffeine withdrawal.
Do you not think it makes sense for your body to use excess skin as eneegy when fasting longer periods,it doesnt need the skin anymore so why not consume it.?
If you're doing keto/carnivore and fasting with prolonged fasting then no. No amount of age will make it to where you inevitably have lose skin after weight loss.
Cholesterol is not a nutrient of concern. There is no data that can causally link high cholesterol of any kind to negative health outcomes in humans, unless your cholesterol is stupidly low, then you're at high risk for disease and infections
