I used to be a 2 foot jumper and for months had been trying to dunk the ball and never actually doing it. Then one day during layup lines i took off faster than a usual layup and decided to try and dunk but noticed i didnt have enough room for my usual 2 foot which i always failed so i jumped off 1 foot and yammed it hard asl. Someone who was recording it said i almost hit a tomahawk (not full extension) and i was completely confused because i never went high enough to even get the ball above the rim which confused me as why i made no progress but always hit weights and did plyos. From that day on i been hitting dunks consistently and it turns out ive been a 1 foot jumper this entire time.
i think this is my situation. for some reason, whenever i intentionally try to dunk i go off of two feet and can barely hit rim but any other time i jump off one foot and get super high people tell me i should be dunking lmao. Need to work on my jumping mechanics
@@BrotherlyLove12 that’s me right now idk if I just don’t have the technique to jump off 2 but I can only jump off one. Off one foot I can get my hand above the rim, off 2 feet I can barely grab rim
@@chaosv1123 not necessarily, some people are better at using speed to convert into launching vertically while some are better at using power. usually people with very strong legs are good at 2 foot and fast people with not as strong legs can get the same height
This is good content.. 👍🏼 if I may add, when dunking off one, think of speed and power. Like he said on that explosion you want to spring up with your all. Once you see out there and getting higher, than you will be able to not only dunk easier, but also to get more creative dunks in as well.
Bra that makes hella sense cuz I jump higher off two feet and I slow down off one. With two it seems like we run into the two steps and explode, but one foot that shit slow down lol
So basically just power through and go over the rim. Nearly got it today before learning how to properly do it by mere centimeters in a causal game wit my friends...
Thanks for the tips, but I jump to high. Many times I can look inside the rim, but that’s not so good for my knees. Can you give me tips how to jump lower.
Ok im 6 ft and almost 40yrs. I used to be able to naturally dunk off 1 foot from 15-35yrs without any workout or exercise outside of just playing basketball 3+ days a week. Now I can only grab the rim. Guessing I need to actually do exercises to be able to dunk again but have no idea what to do 🤷♂️
Twooooo feet I have got one foot off with ease it’s just my two feet I can dunk with one hand easy but with two I feel like I am losing height and speed almost like I can’t generate the same force I produce with one hand
i think this might lep me because to me a dunk dunk is like when u slam it but now i understand that instead of tryna grab the rim and all that cool stuff i should focus on getting it in the actual hoop im like 6'5 with a 6'8 wingspan i should be able to dunk shouldnt i i did it before on 9ft easily but when i tried on command i always miss so ima do these methods since they sound correct and ima focus on instead of tryna grabin the rim cus thats gonna make me brick the shot and miss probs i should focus on putting the ball directly through the hoop then after progression i will be dunking like him after a while ima start doin calf raises too note: i can grab the rim when i try and go at full speed or sum so i should be able to dunk cus i can grab it off just jumpin straight up with no speed
Y’all had a video a year ago about jumping off one foot and the guy in that video said not to load but this guy is saying to load.. what am I supposed to do bruh.😅
I’m 5’6 with a 7’2 reach and I barley got my first 9’6dunk but when I try jumping I barely get to the last link of the net, I jump with one foot when dunking but jump with 2 feet when trying to reach rim idk how I can improve???
Friend, I have a similar problem when I'm going to dunk it with one hand, the ball always slips out of my hand. And I asked a friend how to dunk it with one hand, he told me that you have to know how to control it in the air Could you give me some tips to control the ball in the jump?
For people who are under 6' tall is it better to jump off one foot or both feet to get that extra vertical lift needed to position your hands closer to the rim in order to dunk the basketball?
i will definitely try this out, my problem is that first thing where i am worrying too much about grabbing the rim and idk how to break that habit. I am jumping high enough but just cant finish the dunk yk? Even when dunking on a little lower rim i still find myself missing a lot of dunks but i think its just cause i dont know the actual technique. thx for the tips and i will try to use your tips at my next workout
heres what i did. try as hard as you can to get your hand ON TOP of the ball or slightly on top to ensure the ball goes down. also with your issue of grabbing rim, to try to focus on going above the rim and letting your body drop and your hand will naturally go to the rim anyways.
