I'm 5'7 and I can jump up to 9'8 on a goal do u think I will be able to touch rim anytime soon or will height have to come in? I practice jumping on a a tailgate everyday and I've definitely improved but now it seems like I'm not getting anywhere
The golden key moment for me was 5:06 thank you so much, you are the best trainer that actually explained this, THIS was my problem, I did not understand what a penultimate step should feel like, but you explained it perfectly, the back foot does the work, now all I have to do is train the shit out of it, thank you man
Your Core and Flexibility are very underrated when people talk about jumping, also training your body to go against Earths Gravity A.K.A. you're going to have to jump with alot of resistance or Weights, which is why the Vertimax is so effective.
Hey Coach Steve, I’m 6’3 and can barely hit rim, I’ve been lifting and practicing my jump. I’ve tried to get my penultimate quicker, but I just can’t. Are there any tips you can give me to increase the speed of my penultimate?
hey i was a basketball player when i was under 20. i could dunk at 14 years old (5'7) but i was jumping one legged. this video will help me 2 feet dunk.especially pushing with back foot part is game changer. i was naturally using that method with my one leg jumps. thanks a lot.
This is the only video you need to save and watch if you wont to improve your vertical! A lot of people talk about penultimate step but this guy explained it , long penultimate step is made by "pushing" hard of "back foot" faraway from the take off position!
@@vdofjhfjfh7630 so you need to train your self to jump proper pose and proper land and if you finish with that you need to practice increasing vert cause my cousin is only 5'7 but he can dunk so you can dunk just keep grinding men you will reach your goal to dunk good luck brotha🔥🔥
i practiced my penultimate step alone watching pro dunkers and whithout knowing i was doing everything you said in the video like ive done it all my life, thanks for explaining the keys 🔑🔑🔑
@@johnsettle2542 Keep working and really focus on learning HOW to jump. I personally went from NOT being able to touch the rim to DUNKING in one year... MY Sophomore year!
I'm 5,2 touching backboard cause i somewhat mastered my vertical leap. Anyone can do it if you master your jump. I'm 15 and only started training weights this year (2020) but before that, i have been mastering my form for a few months. Good luck!
Need help on landing, i rolled my ankle once and landed directly on the side of ankle, i was out for 2 months, it was that bad, from that day it's mentally challenging to jump higher because of the fear of repeating that same incident, any tips would be helpful on this, i always land on balls of the feet but i feel like it isn't stable because of the low contact surface on landing
@YUNG KULA ON DA TRACK yeah i shud add stretching, i just don't do them unless i have cramps or something, that's bad.... Thanks for suggestion bro...🙏
@kaushik goud same here man I need help on landing as well. I’ve been dunking but only in practice and not in game because I’ve always been afraid mentally of landing wrong again. I’ve had to be in a boot for four months from a fracture.
@@thehypeone8495 yeah bro I feel ur pain, it's unbearable for me when i rolled my ankle, it's much much worse if u had a fracture I reckon... I think this topic is just underrated because no one can control how we land , it just depends on us and our awareness of landing space, but in games it's just pure adrenaline and we just ignore these things, so I thought I'd ask if STEVEN has any tips on landing even though it can't be helped by anyone but ourselves...
I've been watching I love basketball TV for years (just not the past 2-3) and I also have been watching Steve for years but I had no idea he was in any of their videos. Two of my worlds just collided 😂
Hy Steve Celi, thanks for the great video. I have a question about the penultimate step: how much higher do you jump, when you run and use the penultimate step compared to just standing still and jump as high as you can, in other word's how high do you jump from a standing position versus how high do you jump from coming running with speed? Thanks. Wish you all the best
God damn, I always remember of doing the penultimate step when dribbling, like scissor step and things like that, but for some reason I didn't do it while jumping. Only now I noticed that lol Thanks, I will try it soon
But alot of jumpers do the 1 foot jump and dunk. I think yours is great down low in the paint. But the 1 foot jumpers are a little faster to the hole and smoother quicker .
You also gotta lose as much fat weight that you can, this would increase your vertical since you dont have dead weight on you, wear good hard shoes to be able to exert more force into your jump
I think that warming up is very important before showing the maximum reflection because if you warm up well you will get 4 inches at least I get it I would be interested in what are the best warm up exercises since I see that warming up is very important before dunking we want to do
i feel like my form is good but i just need the smaller details like these to perfect to increase 2-3 inches on a good jump and that’s all i need to touch rim right now, for me is very important i’ve noticed it can really increase 5 inches if you do it 100% right
i've already mastered the penultimate step and have a 34 inch vert but im 5'7 and falling short by 6-10 inches from dunking do you know anything that could help me?
I’m 5’7 in 6th grade and trying to increase my vertical so I can dunk thanks for the tips i can dunk barly 1 handed on 9 foot hoop trying to be able to dunk on 10 foot
Hello guys I‘m a 5‘2‘‘ girl, im 17 and im very very ambitious. I can touch the net (just at the bottom but anyway). Do y‘all think that with training there is a possibility fr me to touch the rim?
pleaseeeeeeeeeee help meeeeeee pleaseeeee HOW TO HOLD THE BALL WHILE DUNKING SMALL HANDS AND BIG HAND AND WHERE TO PUT IT IF YOU PUT YOUR HAND UP AND ALL OF YOUR SPEED GOES AWAY AND IT SLOWS ME DOWN
Coach, question? I'm right handed and I use my right hand a lot in games. If I could use my left hand more I would be a lot better at my age level. What are things I can do to help coordinate my left hand?
SportsHog 22 np and also after practicing making close shots using the backboard with your left hand start trying to do driving layups and dribble and Finnish with your left hand
When watching your videos I really feel like I understand how it should be done and it actually helps me when I go to play ball with my friends. I've seen small improvements.
Hey Brother, I am 5”9 feet tall and 60 kg. 16% Body fat Percentage. Performing Dunks is extremely rare in our city. Infact I have a Friend Of Mine who is 8 inches taller but still cant dunk.. just touch the rim. Ive never worked out on my jump. I will do 3000 Jump Ropes, Core Exercises Such as Dead Bugs and Cycling abs Exercise with Med Ball and also 50 times up and down running the stairs. In addition to that in the gym I will Do Squat Jumps 100-150 and intense legs workout every 2-3 days un the gym In How many days will I be able to dunk By doing all this consistently 6 days in a week Please Reply🙏🏻😢
I dont know why but my one step vert is way better than 3 or 4 steps. With one step i easily grab the rim with one hand but with more steps i cant. I hope if i improve my technique i will be able to dunk.
Practice your penultimate with just one step then after you're comfortable add a step and practice that. Then you just keep adding your steps until you get to 4.
The same if you're a TWO foot jumper! Same technique, it just FEELS awkward and uncomfortable because you're not use to jumping the opposite way. Keep working and it'll become more natural!
