In This Video, I will give my honest review of Hell's Paradise (Jigokuraku). My content is satire in nature and while it may sound like I disliked the anime it's mostly bad jokes. Season 1 of this anime was released on Apr 1, 2023. This anime will probably be renewed for another season. There is a manga that you can read that I recommend. This video contains heavy spoilers so be aware if you plan on watching the anime, or manga. This anime is currently available in the English dub.

@@janisir4529 I can't think of a single anime off the top of my head where the main characters genuinely never train and just get stronger via friendship. Even Fairy Tail (for all of its flaws) has multiple instances where the characters go off to train. Also most "power of friendship moments" in anime are characters pushing past their limits in moments of intense stress, which is a phenomenon that exists within reality as well, albeit to a lesser extent since humans don't have magical powers or ki or whatever the fuck.

Why? I read the manga and feel the anime is fine. In term of story, I feel like it all went down hill. It was real gripping and had a sense of danger, since characters are just dying left and right, but after a while, nobody seems to die anymore even though they are against more dangerous enemies.

@@joaocbcneto I agree you need to keep character alive to develop them, but it can be done much better. For example, why the dumb tall dude survived? The No2 police killed the other short police but left him alive? What is even his development? This show is kind of like Game of Thrones, at first, no one feels safe, but after some insane plot armors, suspense and excitement are all gone.

Such an interesting show. It has a real fever dream quality to it. The protagonist Gabimaru being the atypical shonen protagonist is a refreshing change.

I love the setting and story of Hell's Paradise. It's refreshing seeing a shounen protagonist have a noble cause: Gabimaru just wants to be with his wife. The tensen are horrifying, and the fight in episode 9 is my favorite of the anime so far. Also, the opening and ending songs are great. It's too bad the animation is incredibly inconsistent and a letdown from the highs of Mappa we saw in the first seasons of Jujutsu Kaisen and Chainsaw Man. Hopefully they can improve in future cours.

I’m an anime only and don’t know if the manga has this same issue but I notice it more and more each episode, the exposition and explanations just come out of nowhere it seems, they might be in the middle of a fight and then the bad guy says “Are you using this power? Let’s me tell you more about that power for no reason” then more fighting happens and then again “was that this other power? Let me tell you what I know about that power”

The letter W's name starts with the 'duh' sound because in older English the "wuah" sound was represented by putting two u together, so uu = w . In time we made up a new character to show that sound, and called it in all our human creativity the double u.

I like the anime better, in the manga you have several chapters of the characters talking about the same topic while they are in the middle of something and since they are all distanced, that overexposure that lasts dozens of episodes becomes eternal. but in the anime they give it to us compressed into a single chapter with only the essentials maintaining the thread of the action scene or discovery shown in the chapter.

Imagine waiting days per chapter, and that all the characters synchronize their menstrual cycle to talk about the same no matter where they are or what they are doing... for the love of gods, talk about another topic or shut up for 5 minutes. I read the entire manga and strangely enough I actually liked the mysteriousness of Gabimaru and how deadpan of a character he was early early on. I actually really wish he would have been left more as just a cold hearted not caring character. The whole premise of the story was really awesome and interesting... Then the power system got really whacky. Then characters started getting weird. Then it started losing its stakes. Idk. I feel like I could analyze it and think more in depth why it fell of for me. But yeah overall it really wasn't that great. Wasn't bad but wasn't great either. Very mid series I was hoping for more from. I was really looking forward to the anime still once it got announced especially since it was Mappa studio and the first couple of episodes looked sick. I was excited for the fights at least. Then the animation took a nosedive really fast. This series still could have popped off a lot more at least if it got better treatment for the anime.

Hell's Paradise is honestly one of the three best new anime this season. The thing I liked most about the anime is that no character is safe, all characters are threatened with death at any moment. Also, the drawing, animation, and even the music in it are wonderful, especially the ending song. But the main problem with the anime, in my opinion, is the speed of the events and also the characters, as there are many characters and many of them did not get their due and some of them died very quickly. So far, I have found just two good characters in the anime, and they are Gabimaru and Tenza. The rest is all between normal and trash. My own rating for the anime is 8.5/10.

@@PzDallas the only thing that comes to my mind is freaking DBZ where Goku legit died and stopped being a the main character for a while, the only permanent example that did it right was the Ultimate spiderman comics where Peter dies and Miles takes the mantle for the rest of the run. even then i found the nobody is safe concept to be extrmely stupid and just be there for shock factor since usually you end up with a bunch of undeveloped generic douchebags dying to add tension and only being remarkable for their designs

Glad RU-vid Algorithm does something right once in awhile - another underrated Anime reviewer/Comedian. Loving the videos so far. This anime was not too bad tbh but maybe that speaks to what aired in the same season. That was 2023 Spring, a Demon Slayer Arc more flashback heavy then Naruto. P.S. I really like the religion and culture elements of the anime since they feel so well done. But the story is a bit generic tbh, the latest 2 episodes just have plot dumps for no reason, like the antagonists explain Tao in extreme detail for no reason. Cant wait for the last episode though, I hope we get to see a tensen actually defeated

Idk man, I liked the anime a lot and read the manga after and loved it even more. It has such a satisfying ending without having dozens of volumes first. Gabimaru really grew on me. I like how different he is to most Shonen protagonists and isn’t a cry baby aka (Deku and Tanjiro) or a dumb goofy fuck aka (Luffy and Goku).

So I’ll put my thoughts like this each member of “the dark trio” Chainsaw Man, Jujutsu Kaisen, Hell’s Paradise. All have their own strengths and weaknesses compared to the others. CSM excels in Characters and writing, JJK has the best fights power system worldbuilding, and Hell’s paradise imo undoubtedly had the best art of the three which is why I regret that it didn’t get JJK or csm treatment

The letter “W” is pronounced “double u” so yes it does start with d. Also my favorite Shonen is Horimiya or Vinland Saga, I can’t decide which one.

Not even trying to sound like a contrarian here, but I thought the manga was bad. Very good detail especially with environments, but story was boring. I stopped reading around the final 12 chapters.i guess best way to put it is they had good ideas but bad execution. Pun pending.

Ahhh Jigokuraku, it's power system seems famillar to Hunter X Hunter while visuals are making it looks like Paradise Island is just Made in Abyss secret level. Characters are dying more often than in Game of Thrones and everything is filled with Demon Slayer style of animation and combat. It's good show. Will gladly watch more.

As someone who has seen the Chainsaw Man Anime, the JJK first season anime, an is almost done with the Hell's Paradise anime, I really liked this show and I enjoyed it way more than Chainsaw Man. For one, I don't like a single character in Chainsaw Man, I am just there for the fights. It's interesting that apparently this adaptation of Hell's Paradise isn't the best possible one. I never even once thought that the flashbacks or pretty much anything was annoying or similar. It is what it is. I gotta be honest though, I think you doing videos on bad anime is way funnier than videos on good or decent shows. Not that this video wasn't bad.
