Honestly i would give this series a solid 8/10. It's definitely a fun, bloody, horrific and action-packed thrill ride of a series that will satisfy anyone who's a fan of a traditional zombie horror with lots of boobies, panty shots and nudity to appeal to male audiences. My gripes about High School of the Dead is it doesn't differentiate itself much from other zombie movies/tv shows coupled with the fact the series could've used more episodes to better flesh each character's backstory and expand deeper on the worldbuilding. While High School of the Dead is definitely worth a watch for fans of zombie horror there are better movies and tv series that have more unique takes on zombie horror. Best examples would be the movie 28 days later which is one of if not the best movie take on zombie horror mostly because it is the most realistic possibility of how a real zombie outbreak could actually happen in that rather than the infected being ravenous, cannibalistic, walking undead corpses they are instead fast, vicious and feral infected humans. Anime with better stories and unique twists on zombie horror would be Zombieland Saga which has a group of girls from different time periods who have died and have been resurrected as zombies in order to become idols to immortalize saga prefecture or the most recent Zom 100 which focuses on the story of a young Japanese businessman who along with the other survivors are just out living life to the fullest even in the heat of the zombie apocalypse.
