This assumes that there was very much of Horus left after they were done with him. I wonder if it wasn't only the smallest bit that made it out. Which might explain why he was such a trifle to them. The important bits were already extracted and the body was little more than a protein robot performing its role. It may be that the remains of Horus will play some future roll in the fate of the galaxy.

honestly, the Eldar probably aren't going to survive anyways (outside of GW not wanting to get rid of a model line anyways). they're too far fucked ( not to mention, if you can't make a comeback in a good 10-15k years, you're both not trying hard enough and don't deserve to)

@@gruffen4 agreed, especially if they have access to the near magical tech that the Eldar have and effective immortality with spirit stones. Eldar are spent. The only good they could do the galaxy is if Isha merged with Ynnead and took out Slaanesh. And ressed Emps, because honestly, humans are the only viable race left. Tyranids are mindlesd, Orks are barely above that, Necron are as extinct as Eldar, and Tau are a second robot apocalypse in the making.

The Long war,slowly destroying the imperium.Despite what many think, since they do not remember the lore of the black crusades very well, each black crusade was a devastating success, each one is was the springboard for the next.However now Abby is in trouble since Chaos Primarchs are back and objectively he can only call on the loyaty of the Black legion now.

Thing is that Chaos doesn't want to instantly nom the Galaxy, having a miserable cesspool to feed off of forever more is WAY better, the age of Strife was just that, and Chaos was happy to kick back, relax, and feed patiently and "passively". Abaddon's ironically a far, far, better fit for them than Horus because they've had tens of thousands of years to fully bind the Traitors to their cause. While he and his Legion have enough agency and separation from them to actually DO something, but aren't so rejecting of them (like the Night Lords for example) that they'd lose out on offerings in a Galaxy won by them. It's also likely that if the Astronomicon were to die out, Abaddon would either be forcefully ascended, or knocked off as leader (either killed or simply rejected). In this way 40k's Chaos is WAY more insidious and backstabbing than Fantasy's/AOS, which I'm totally on board for. While he has no love for them, he and his own are now inseparably linked. This wasn't the case in the Horus Heresy, where a crowned Horus would have likely thrown off the shackles of servitude to the Gods and basically just run the Imperium his way, on his, bloody, terms, something Abby could never do now.

or, 4 'horsemen' of the (chaos) apocalypse, created by each chaos god selecting a chaos marine they like, and merging their share of horuses soul into them war for khorne and pestilence for nurgle, obviously. famine for slanesh (bit of a stretch, but referring to how she thirsts for elven souls maybe?), and death (would be a big stretch towards tzeentch, not sure how to make that one make sense) these guys could act as special commanders or something... idk i just like the idea

@@namekman01 Famine fits Slaanesh perfectly because to serve Slaanseh is to know hunger that can never be satisfied. In Tzeentch's case, you could argue that he represents death because it seems like his "Great Plan" will ultimately end with the death of the universe.

@@Warrior-Of-Virtue tzeentch can represent death because the only thing that will cause his plan to come to fruition is his death (which he is at least trying to connect to the death of the galaxy/universe)

You know those that makes predictions about the future in WH40k are almost always wrong for example the bulk of eldar high echelon supported Horus so that if chaos won it would eventually eat itself to death. But if Emps did won the primarchs wouldnt have to be separated from one another and their legions shattered into chapters. 6 loyalist primarchs were alive after the Heresy then theyargued and bicker in two groups the pro codex astartes and the anti codex astartes. Imagine 6 Space Marine Legions with their Primarch leading them and Emps leading the primarchs. Nothing in the galaxy after the heresy could match an actually Competent Imperium especially Failbaddon the harmless.

I feel like, something... different, is happening to The Emperor. keep in mind that he has been being worshiped by pretty much all Humanity for ten millennium. given that the Emperor has a significant presence in the warp, and the warp is fueled by human emotions and worship. my own personal theory is that the Emperor is slowly becoming a new god. either the Chaos god of Order, or since the existing Chaos God's consider him Anathema, something more akin to the gods of the Eldar but of greater power. we already know the Emperor's power can manifest his own version of Deamons with Saint Celistine, the Sanguinor and the legion of the Damned. I think its entirely possible that the Golden throne isn't keeping the Emperor alive anymore, more tethering him to his mortal form.
