I just got done watching every one of these shed build videos as I'm about to do the same thing. You've convinced me to delineate the perimeter of the rock with PT 4x4's. I commend your idea to not tie the anvil mount into the frame of the building. 1. Could I get your opinion on sopmething? I am planning on bypassing the floor construction by setting the walls on PT 6x6's and lay down some 1" thick rubber mats on the gravel floor. I'll omit the details and ask you what you think. 2. Does the sound from hammering on the anvil bother the neighbors? Thanks
Hmmmm. Well, I suppose it depends on what you want. Having only mats on the gravel likely means more moisture inside the space and less ability to insulate. But as long as you tie the walls together nice and solid, with the pt 6x6s it will probably be sufficiently sturdy. I never had any complaints from hammering on the anvil (definitely look into quieting the ring if you haven’t already). The only complaint was from hammering all day putting the shingles on the roof!
