Hah I farmed Free Radicals and Revolters for my casual friends so they’d keep playing with me occasionally and weren’t completely dead weight in a Takedown or Slaughter.
Not to mention the fact that the shock damage applies to ALL your damage, not just gun damage. The fact that it makes grenades and action skills more viable is cool, but it making already broken weapons even more broken is just stupid
I'm so glad the Pandora's Box pack is a thing because I can get every BL3 DLC, Lilith which wasn't included in the Handsome Collection, and Tales for £24.
The only reason I have fight for sanctuary bought the handsome collection on my PC PlayStation and switch but Pandoras box was out when I bought my Xbox so finally got to try it there
As a primarily Moze player, I find the infernal wish to be my top pick. Bloodletter and run-and-gun offsets the paltry burn damage, and the consistency of the extra projectile is greatly appreciated.
Re-Volter + Butcher = Absolute destruction. I use them with FL4K with an anoinment of release the effects of the shield when using the skill (evanescence).
I call it the "build bandaid" class type item. Just like our beloved Guardian Angel, throw this on and it will make your build work. It's great for casual players honestly. Most people don't have time or patience to mess with the damage formula so this has a solid place in the arsenal.
My favorite shield, by far, is the infernal wish. On my moze build, giving an extra projectile to a single projectile weapon (plasma coil, backburner, etc) is so fucking overpowered. Completley trumps the revolter for me
Honestly the stop gap shield with the annoint to activate on action skill use felt awesome with my rakk attack fl4k. Proccing immune to damage with the rack attack felt really good
The Frozen heart is my favorite shield in Bl3. Using Amara's phasegrasp (eternal fist) with a.s.s Frozen heart, a cryo trevonator and 3 points into Unweave the Rainbow. Lots of the enemies would die before I could even phasegrasp them. Absolute wreckage!
i am a casual yet dedicated player, with over 300 hours on borderlands 3, maining moze my go to shield has always been the transformer because of using a bloodletter, combined with deathless makes you virtually immortal with either vampyr or any electric splash damage (in my case, a lob)
The BEE broke the game, so badly they based ALL dlc's and mayhams off it. You were expected to be using it, with exception of roughrider/krieg. Extremely stupid. If you did not have it, you were not nearly as effective and would hit like a wet noodle at highest lvls.
Forgive me bc i dont remember what it is called but im a big fan of the low capacity shield that launches a free grenade when its broken (revengadier???), mix that with mitosis seeker grenades and zane's drone skill tree and shield tree and u have free grenades being launched by ur drone and ur shield all the time
This was the first game in the franchise that made me feel Like Shields grenades Like Shields grenades Really didn't matter what you had as long as had the correct announment.
I quit playing Borderlands after that "Season Pass 2" crap. Pay 50$ for a season pass only to find out it's now invalid and have to buy *another* season pass? Honestly, it felt as if Pitchford grabbed me by the netherbit's, dragged me into the street & violated me. My dog Benji was in the room when I found out...he saw it happen.
Also worse is that you can't use DLC stuff without the DLC, meaning when I'm on with my friends who don't have the DLC, I can't give it to them. Plus random legends drop can be a DLC thing they can't equip so it just wasted their time
Moze can still use the re-volter. U just hop in bear and then Instantly hop out. By the time time shock enraged finished u have bear again. But i think a level 1 super soldier with a health regen class mod works better. Especially if u have amp on the shield
Exactly my thoughts lol. I've fully played through 4 of the DLCs, and partially 2 of em, and have to say that they're value for money. Plus they're on sale literally all the time on any platform!
Ive been using the Loop of 4N631 forever but after learning about the revolter here I think I’m gonna go farm for it. That 200% bonus shock damage combined with my Jakobs primary FL4K fade away build may be the key to not constantly going down every time I fire at an enemy, especially with that action skill start anoint because my fade away cooldown is only like 7 seconds on average, getting shorter every crit hit (megavore makes the cooldown nonexistent)
first game version there was the shield that depleted all your health on moze was omega broken and basicly gave you complete invincibility, because of how vampiric grenades worked and the class mod that turned all regen into shield regen, basicly all your grenade were non stop regenerating your shield, then ti don't remember what part of that was nerfed but after one big patch it was out, but damn, that was a time xD basicly spaming grenades nobrainly and be invincible as long as enemies were hit. with unlimited grenade regeneration. busted times. but lets be honest, there is so much stupid glasscanon build that would work even without a shield that, even a broken one is not relevant. like, as moze, you just action skill, like, even with 0 gear equiped, you'd still OS everything. if you don't abuse that, and go for a gun build, you just pick whatever multi pellet fast firing weapon with short fuse and infinite mag and thats practicaly the same thing, even with no shields.
I remember playing bl3 a long time ago, the transformer was my favourite paired with a shock jackhammer, I left because I didn't want to pay for the "director's cut" pack things for 10 each when I already spent like 100-150 on the game including dlc or season passes
I'd have to say faulty star and plus ultra are top tier for Moze. Faulty star in Mayhem 10 with boundary issues made it a walking sim. Plus ultra made Bear nuts.
I was gonna say. I've used the Plus Ultra on Moze with the (75% HP & Shield after exiting IB) ever since dlc 4 came out & have little desire to switch. The funniest thing is if you can get back into IB during the 25 seconds, IBs armor will benefit from the anoint. Meaning it gets like 10 million armor. 😂
Seeing the beginning of BL3's life cycle and the obsessive, excel spreadsheet style of balance the dev team had, only to come back at the end to see they transformed and embraced the "fuck it, we ball" mentality and let shit get wild.
While more damage is nice, that's kinda the whole point the of the guns you use and the abilities of your character, what I want my shield to do is keep me alive. So it's pretty hard for any shield to beat health regen/damage resistance/ the outright elemental immunity of the Transformer. Though since my favorite grenades already steal health from the enemy in case of emergencies and panic, I think my all time favorite has to be the Old God's 40% of all bullets getting absorbed, that's just a 40% chance to not take any damage at all. Which obviously isn't as good as Rico's 80% to reflect bullets back at the enemy, but the problem I always had is that it didn't really work 80% of the time, in fact it hardly ever reflected bullets, and the bullets it did finally reflect would usually hit the cover the enemy were hiding behind making it pretty pointless as I just always kept dying from a shield not really doing its job, lmao. But despite Old God's stat saying "40%" it felt way more common than 40%, like holy hell I was practically immune to bullets wearing that thing, plus I never ran out of ammo so I just kept using my favorite legenary guns to clean house.
One of my favorite early game ones is the Initiative. I like to play with a lot of procs, and that is good if you can get things that proc from shields
I've yet to actually put the revolter to any use, the 2 characters I like playing in bl2 is messy breakup/red fang flak and moss with the buffed rail cannons for bossing. I've tried the revolter on pet flak but I think the messy breakup had better consistency when your loader spawns a ton of orbs since he gets shields back on kills
While the Revolter is undoubtedly the strongest shield in BL3 history, calling it the only good offensive option is kinda eh. The biggest boon to Revolter is that it's the defacto duct tape for any gun build and ladeeda would you look at that the average person doesn't care to try and brainstorm or even look up alternative or fun playstyles and just plays the shooting gun game as a shooting gun game. The claim that it's the best for every character aside from Moze and that no other shield comes close is also crazy. FL4K is theorized to have the best True Guardian Takedown time possible, and that is done with the Stinger. Zane's strongest clearing build, Hustler+Eraser, opts for a handful of different shields, none of which are the Revolter. You would literally rather have a triple amp non-unique purple shield over the Revolter. Also, while DLC does powercreep, it's not like you don't have access to disgusting stuff base game. Even the character that suffers the most from lack of DLC, Zane, has access to a very broken setup called giving the clone a sand hawk and shutting your brain off. And remember that FL4K build I was talking about? Stinger is base game.
I got through a lot of the campaign solo with the transformer at lvl 7, then a lucky level 33 upgrade, and a level 26 pistol Compressing Thunderball Fists is still useful to spam at level 41
Someone random dropped me a shield once 15 years ago , and a few items but i didnt realise it was an unbreakable shield i got through the game so easy it was unreal 😂
One of mine HAS to be the Version O.m. It's just a 125% bonus to any weapon, for four shots. So if you use it on something like a massively powerful rocket launcher, the entire shots gets the extra boost, and when it breaks, it's a circle of constant 50% damage boostfor 6 seconds, which can be a lot of extra damage! It's defenitely not the greatest but, being a free to play player, and consuming a lot of BL content, it's a very fun one to mess around with especially if you have some good life steal. Still looking into some other shields as options for my build though.
Playing borderlands 3 for the first time and this is the first vid I ever watch of it… I felt broken af with my 1k shields and 800 hp… then I see the numbers on this my screen. 😅😩😭
The revolter is only broken if doing a standard gun build or maximizing action skill damage. That is a very small part with dozens of other competitive shields for other build types. Even guns
Also moze just kinda doesn't use it besides 1 gun build type. Trust me I get annoyed when I always go to revolter for a standard gun but that's not the only builds that exist
What you say is true, but of all the shields, the revolter is the easiest to build around, and in 95% of cases when you're running a gun build, you can just slap on a A.S.S Re-volter for crazy amounts of extra damage.
Dont have a specific build in play but in my current Amara, im using Red Suit with Star Helix/Breath of Dying, Hellwalker, Thunderball Fist/Hellshock, Hornet. Just using whatever the game gives me and only farming for TB Fist, Star Helix and Hellshock. Just trying out different weapons to finish the game with.
I don't mind re-volter being the shield when it comes to boosting damage. However, bonuses it provides are absolutely insane so much so that there is barely any reason to use any other shield mod. Why does it provide 200% extra lightning damage and 50% extra fire rate on top of that? Shield mod that would provide 100% bonus lightning damage alone would still be super good. Honestly I hate the Re-volter for destroying build variety in BL3.
If you own say the handsome collection or just base game bl3 check into pandoras box I got 1 tales from new tales from and borderlands 3 with all dlc for $30 total for re-downloading the handsome collection and looking into it from in game
BL3 definitely allows you to get by with a wide variety of gear, but damn is this shield good. I feel like I'm missing damn near half of my build whenever I don't use it on Amara because I'm so used to shooting fast as hell with crazy damage
Arguably, the most broken build in the game -- Hustler Zane who one-shots entire maps -- uses the Transformer and/or Red Suit. Comparatively, the Revolter on other builds still makes raid bosses hp a pain at Mayhem 11.
Only thing its worth it is if you do by chance bought BL3 ultimate collection with all DLC's for $35.00 rather than buying only the base game then buying each DLC that would cost $15.00.
Mana Well is normally awful... There's a downright *disgusting broken* Moze build that uses it though with the Blade Fury - if you can't figure it out I can't help lol
I wish Transformer could roll with attachment tho :D meow! But yes THE TRANSFORRRRRRRMER MORE THAN MEETS THE EYEEEEEEEEE I love just blanket immunity to a damage type NOT gonna lie.
complaining about “pay to win” not realizing that things like this happen no matter what you don’t have to buy the dlc and the game is not competitive at all so why would this even be a problem?
I can combine revolter damage with amara skill anointments on weapons +150%+200% damage totally destroying everything Infernal Wish is good, Re-Charger is good And Radioactive shield I forgot the name
I think the transformer is better with the back burner rpg in shock you basically become immortal with infinite rocket ammo and I put out some insane damage
The faulty star is God on moze and the super soldier shield is very strong paired with mozes phalanx doctian makes moze faster the vehicles and can kill everything trizial
It drops from in Eschaton Row on Promethea at the end of one of Ava’s murder mystery missions. It’s easily farmable too as there’s a respawn station 2 seconds away.
My initial reaction "which one" Action skillstart stopgap? Old god? The transformer? Front loader? (redline moze) Rerouter? Impaler ( fl4k pet with take this and red fang or not my circus, usually with 1 point he bites and 5+5[class mod]frenzy) Action skillstart stinger? (amara, but also any class that can spam cooldown) 80/80 reflect rico? (fl4k setup works well for this too, can help stack multiple status effects on a target due to enemy variety, so it can help especially whittle down shields or armor with cryo/rad weapons respectivly without swapping) Purple roid nova ass
The frozen heart is good, but my biggest issue with them is the fact that anointed enemies cannot be frozen, completely negating its effects, otherwise it's a good shield
@@ConstantCanadian I use the nova from the Frozen heart, paired with the cryo mantis cannon to deal with the small guys. This is so I can focus on the bigger enemies like anointed etc...
The pay to win argument is so stupid lmao. What are you winning? There's no more content unless you buy the dlc! You don't buy the dlc to "win", you buy it to play more Borderlands. It's the same with Borderlands 2, and I don't see anyone complaining that game is pay to win. Sometimes people just need to use their brain for 2 seconds.
