Water soluble wads can leave a glue like residue in the barrels which only boiling/hot water/steam will readily shift ?? Normal methods of cleaning are not totally effective and even then take considerable effort to remove some of the residue at all.Steel shot will increase barrel wear and guns have to be steel proofed hence the chap not using his well choked up Perazzi 🤔.Not the best of kills even with 32grm 3's unless within reasonable range as is the vagaries of steel shot.Great shoot though.

I believe steel is fit for purpose, however i am confused as to why you would put the well known brand wad in water.? lets see the same test both wads side by side on the ground in the dry ? Both have their place, I know what I would prefer to use. well known brand on land and if Eley pull their socks up and make a 3" version then ECO will be ok for wildfowling

The film clearly shows a recovered wad on which the petals have not opened , thats not a good thing with steel.

The problem with eley’s bio wad is that they turn into micro plastic which is worse than original plastic found in regular steel wad’s.
