Viserys ii Targaryen was now king of the seven kingdoms, and given his highly priased time as hand of the king for three kings many felt that Viserys would be Jaehaerys come again. But sadly for westeros and the house of the dragon the reign of King Viserys ii was to be a short one that would overshadowed by the reign to follow his.

Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen was trapped on Dragonstone by her brother King Aegon ii with no way to escape her fate. What was to come was the final showdown between the two main players of the dance of the dragons and bring the war into its final phase. The House of the dragon was crumbling and the events that was about to follow would only cause more damage to both sides of the war.

I could believe that aegon the unworthy poisoned him, but it’s also possible that the maesters were responsible, it’s a long standing theory that the maesters were plotting the Targaryen downfall since the time of aegon the conquerer, so it’s possible that they saw how well viserys was doing and what he could accomplish and decided to kill him

His main flaw was his attitude towards his family. He let his wife abandoning him to flee back to Lys (which literally everyone around him saw coming) turn him into a cold man. He failed to realize what his eldest son was, and made his other two children miserable.

The situation with his wife wasn't his fault the xenophobia of westaros and the chaotic nature of essos was the problem.

After the powerful head of the Rogare bank died, his son bled the coffers dry to bribe the Lys noblemen into allowing him to inherit his father’s position. When the Rogare bank fell half of the merchants and lords in kings landing lost huge amounts of gold. Aside from Aegon, Viserys, and the men she had brought with her she had no one in Kings Landing who wasn’t either indifferent to her, or wanted to see her dead. It’s no surprise she fled: indeed Viserys is the only one who seemed to really take it personally.

If only Viserys married Daena to Ageon and Naerys to Aemon. I’m wondering what kind of relationship Viserys had with Daena, he must have been so exhausted cleaning up the mess of Aegon IIIs kids..

The main reason why Viserys II never propose marrying Aegon IV to Daena is Age by the time of 153 AC when Aegon IV married his Sister Naerys his 18 years old by that time while Naerys is 15 Years by that time while Daena is 8 years old at that time. Aegon IV is Born in 135 AC. Aemon "The Dragonknight " is born in 136 AC. Naerys is Born in 138 AC. Daeron "The Young Dragon "is born in 143 AC. Baelor " The Blessed " is born in 144 AC. Daena is born in 145 AC. Rhaena is born in 147 AC. Eleana is born in 150 AC. Just look the age Difference by the year 153 AC when Aegon IV marry his Sister Wife Naerys they are near Adults while Aegon III Childrens are Literally Child at that time not yet ready for Marriage.

Viserys was arguably the best Hand to date, but the fact that his heir was the worst Targaryen of all time and then forcibly married him to Naerys knocks him down a few pegs in my book.

Aegon IV is NOT the worst Targaryen of all time... Aerys burned people alive, forced himself on his own wife, and planned to murder an entire city.. Maegor the CRUEL personally murdered dozens of people, abused his wives, and burned Thousands alive. Aegon the IV while a piece of shit person was absolutely Not the WORST Targaryen.

@@MalikF15 the mad kings actions led to 1. Defiance of Duskendale 2. Roberts Rebellion 3. The near extinction of house Targaryen. 4. Greyjoy rebellion 5. War of Five Kings all of the wars in less than 20 years time span. The war Aegons actions didn't technically lead directly to war. There was at least 10 years after his death that peace remained in the realm the war broke out mainly because of the actions of Daeron and Blood Raven. With the unfair advantages given to Dorne via taxes and the attempted arrest of Daemon based on unconfirmed rumors.

I think Daemon Targaryen "The Rogue Prince" would have been proud of Viserys II, as a second son himself, Daemon had to carve out a kingdom of his own, and so did his second son. The Targaryen Dynasty would have surely fallen had it not been for Viserys II, especially during the reign of his brother Aegon III, and Baelor The Blessed. He was vital in getting Aegon III to attend to his kingly duties. Without Viserys the realm would have fallen apart, but Viserys II had the same blindness that his grandfather had towards his mother, Rhaenyra. Viserys couldn't see what a wreck Aegon IV was, and his biggest mistake was marrying him to Naerys. She should have wed Aemon. Aegon IV was a trainwreck and had Daena not been kept in the maiden vault for the better part of her life, and denied any male contact, maybe she wouldn't have been so careless with whom she slept with. The birth of Daemon Blackfyre was a turning point in the history of House Targaryen. For how much Viserys II let Aegon IV get away with, its kind of insane to think Aegon IV killed his own father.

He could have married Aegon IV to one of Aegon III's daughters, and allowed Naerys and Aemon to marry (instead of him joining the Kingsguard). Would have also put to bed any ideas that one of Aegon III's daughters should succeed.

Aemon the Dragonknight is widely considered to be the pinnacle of the Kingsguard. The most chivalrous knight to ever live. His whole service as kingsguard, he served selflessly. Took a poisoned Arrow in Dorne meant for his cousin, Daeron. carried his other cousin, Baelor. In spite of being stuck in a cage for months and trekking through the deserts of dorne barefoot. And i imagine we will know more of his deeds in future videos.

I definitely believe he was poisoned by his son. With Baelor dead, Viserys II was the last check on Aegon IV. With him gone, now Aegon was free to do anything and any maiden he wanted.

Viserys was very capable and intelligent, he just couldn't see Aegon the unworthy for what he was, it was his son, his first born his baby boy with his beloved wife. No doubt in my mind his son poised him. If there were men around him that were shrewd, wise and were men of action, they would have disposed Aegon 3rd before he started popping out children all the time and Aemond would have been king

i feel bad for this guy half as Aegon 3 : gets kidnapped (technically leaves a good life even with death threats), works all his life not for his goals but the realm by being the King meanwhile Aegon 3 is depressed, then has to work twice difficult because of his nephews and finally the time his King is killed by his son i also want to think that he kill Baelor the Blessed and thats why he gets snap like some sort of karma but i dont think so

If Aegon weds Daena the Blackfyre rebellions will not occur. Of course Aegon liked Daena. If Viserys 1 married Rhaenys there will be no great council and dance of the dragons. Daena the Queen who never was.
