@@brandoncolis3841I wouldnt say that. Fry and Bender both have traits similar to Homer but at the end of the day theyre different enough to be their own person.
It's interesting how Futurama started before The Simpsons switched to digital despite Futurama being all digital, it always catches me off guard seeing Futurama references in cel animation.
2:54 Bender Rodriguez is basically Homer Simpson without the moral compass of a wife and children of his own. Not to mention no organic body. Also, it must have been fun for the voice actors to slam their Boss without consequence.
Episodes after the crossover bender is in the basement when marge uses him as a safe for their life savings idk the name of the episode tho because in the crossover episode he sets a timer for 1000 years and stays in the Simpson basement until he’s back in the future
It makes perfect sense actually. Because these guys live in the Simpsons. They wouldn’t know Matt Groening was the creator. Nor would it even make sense for him to be, therefore go through the process of creating the Simpsons, therefore making him unfamous until making Futurama.
I think in modern The Simpsons episodes Bender is still supposed to be living in there basement and mostly unconscious until the future. I wondered if it was a nice link between the two shows in case Futurama gets cancelled again, to keep the characters alive.
There's a Treehouse of Horror segment where Lisa does a science project with a tooth in some Dr Pepper or Coca Cola type drink and after Bart shocks her from a Balloon attached to his head, it starts to develop as a town and at one point she's like "looking like I'm seeing into the future" and the scenery looked very similar to that of New New York from Futurama
Out of curiosity, I decided to do some math for the first two clips in the video to determine when those episodes aired before Futurama's first premiere. For reference, Futurama aired on March 28th, 1999. The first clip shows Snake Jailbird holding a comb, featuring David Cohen's credit as Executive Producer with the gag "Watch Futurama." This comes from Season 10, Episode 4's Treehouse of Horror IX (9), which aired on October 29th, 1998, four months and thirty days before the series came out. Right after that, we have Üter Zörker (The German Boy) wearing a Futurama Shirt at a convention in Season 10, Episode 9's Mayored to the Mob, airing on December 20th, 1998, 3 months and 8 days before the show's release date. And just for fun, I also calculated the time between the two episodes, which is 1 month and 22 days apart.
the first clip with the comb is from the episode of treehouse of horror called hell tupe which came out in 1998 futurama came out in 99 s so odd it was saying watch that show when it wasn't even out yet guess it was suppose to come out in 98
The same goes for Üter Zörker (The German Boy) wearing the Futurama Shirt. Which was featured in the episode "Mayored to the Mob" (Season 10, Episode 9) and aired on December 20th, 1998.
What in the name of Kwanza Bot is Seymour doing in Springfield? They literally moved a dead body for fan service. Either that, or it's Springfield, New York.
So many references and Easter eggs in the Simpsons until the crossover happened Still is crazy how bender had so much advanced upgrades compared how he was in the show I even thought in the new series it was going to happen
I didn't think Seymour Asses could break my heart again, but they went and made Fry completely miss him in his second trip to the past where he was alive (as a non-doomed timeclone).
I like how canonically, for 1000 years before he meets Fry, Bender's just living in Homer's basement. It's like The Simpsons is a set up for Futurama itself
I love how humble Matt is. My favortie crack at him though is during the Simpsons Video Game where he tries to correct his secretary on how to pronounce is own name. "Its GROENING" "You sure?" "No..."
Since Bender is stuck in the Simpsons basement, they should do an episode a season where he becomes a character. Be like a Treehouse of Horror but it's a Bender episode
I love that even the Simpsons can't decide how to pronounce Graining's pronunciation (its clearly spelled groaning idk who the hell came up with such a stupid-)
3:51 oh no!!!!!!!! Too soon matt, too soon........................ 😢😢😔😔😔💀💀💀💀💀 I have a feeling that Futurama fan's are going to hate matt groening for bringing Seymour back.
One of the Futurama DVD commentaries stated that The Simpsons is a fictional cartoon within the real world of Futurama, so none of these crossovers make any sense. Then again, The Simpsons has never been too concerned with things making sense.
They made so many references to each other but in the crossover they dont know eachother even though fry mentioned bart dolls and millhouse mentioned bender dolls and homer mentioned Futurama a few times it seems inconsistent
@@piperformerlycassette Not necessarily. In Futurama they credit Matt Groening as the creator of the Simpsons. I don't think it's supposed to be either a TV nor part of the timeline. It's just fun references and Easter eggs pointing out Matt's other work within both shows. The planet express ship is a model in disenchanted, and ya you can probably say disenchanted is the past but who's past? The Simpsons or Futurama's? Because society fell between the thousand years fry was frozen.
I was lost on the first clip for a minute. I thought the "good lines.." was supposed to be the reference cause obviously that could only mean Futurama! Lol
Springfield is wherever Springfield is. It's not consistent,it moves around. In the Simpsons movie the town somehow borders Ohio Nevada, Maine and Kentucky. Those states don't even touch each other. And... To make it harder to pinpoint, the Simpsons movie is technically canon to Whatever is called canon in the Simpsons Universe, since we see spider pig they mention the dome and other characters and events from the movie. It's hard to figure out where Springfield is on purpose.
@MissDavids Aw, playing the victim yet again? And I'm the Jerk? Remember, you're the one who attacked an innocent FG fan on an FG video for saying "I love FG" to which you proceeded to give them a lecture and a Rant about how AD is so much better, despite all your "Points" falling flat since AD is guilty of doing every one of them. Let me guess since I've exposed you yet again, you'll run off leaving this conversation where it is and either, try to forget it, or will return in a few weeks or a month to make another point you don't have, all before the circle repeats itself. Predictable. :)
When Bart mocked other shows in the 90s that have cheap cartoon cross overs to boost low ratings. And eventually The Simpsons do it themselves but it was still a good cross over.
2:57 I hate this joke it doesn't even make sense , like I get they're trying to be Meta but what they're saying and what they show us are completely different, they don't look anything alike sitting next to each other , and when Bart edits the drawing it doesn't look like either of them further showing how wrong the joke is , then they nod at each other like they're patting themselves on the back for their own joke that didn't make sense
The two shows are made by the same creator, so it's a self insert joke by the creator dissing himself because it's ironic. And wdym? They clearly have the same head structure bender is just more geometrically shaped. :/
