Love that this iconic show has so many side characters and they all serve their purpose well. Bumblebee fills the small gaps in the episodes' plots while keeping us entertained. He's definitely a great character to have
Fun Fact this character was based off of El Chapulín Colorado, or The Red Grasshopper, it's an old Mexican sitcom that featured a guy dressed as a red grasshopper.
@@RomanesEuntDomus. That's a very high school AF response, in high school anyone who said that at least cared enough to listen and in your case you cared enough to read my post and then take time to comment.
As a hispanic at the begining I thought this was the general reaction from North Americans to this kind of humour, but through the video I saw that the rest of the characters actually enjoyed it
From what I understand Matt Groening was in Mexico and saw a very famous show in Latin America called El Chapulin Colorado he was a hero of sorts, the name translates to Red Locust. He based the bumblebee man on this character. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NvIyLNcxx_s.html
Synopsis of El chapulin Colorado He's basically a joke making fun of the concept of a super hero He's a good natured person, but all his actions end up in comedic situations unknowingly
@@resortinrocha3387 Yes, but my point is the *appearance* of the Simpson's character. Have you seen the look of the Saturday Night Live bees from the first season?
I wish somebody could post where the bee is picking flowers and pinched by Homer dressed as a criminal. The bee replies, "Ay Ay Ay, Homer Simpson molesti mi."
The real life comedian he's based on was called "Chespirito" or "little Shakespeare", don't know if the Simpsons writers ever saw the connection but it's the only one I can see.
Why were there no full episodes with him like Apu? I dont even know if he appeared along side Tito Puente. IDK I guess I wished they had more latino representation. Afterall we too enjoy this show.
