An aussie who visited his memorial bench just outside Edinburgh. Just got home from seeing the Skids 45th Anniversary tour. Jobson had amazing energy. Stu would have been proud.

I remember seeing them support the Stranglers DeMontfort hall Leicester 78/79 - they were brilliant, some guy was trying to hook Stuart's foot in a hangmans noose, there was beer and spit flying (horrible but part and parcel of the time) Best gig ever, Stranglers were amazing too. I was 17 and loved every minute.

I used to work in an assisted living facility for a bunch of old well to do people, part of my job was to entertain them for an hour on sundays. It started with me reading my original poems and then spread into reading songs that were poetic. Having about six or seven living survivors from World war II in there and knowing that this is an anti-war song I read them the lyrics and then played them the song. there is nothing in the world that can compare to watching a bunch of 85 to 90 year old people toe tapping to this jam. Richard Jobson is not only in ferocious shape he looks like a doppelganger for Clark Greg the actor that plays Agent Coulson in the Marvel movies. Thankfully he accepted my friend request on FedBook and IG. THIS is music, REAL music that the Jousting Beaver, Lost Direction, and Micky Mirage crowd could never understand if it bit them in their asses. ROCK ON JOB and Bruce Watson on the lead guitar.🔥💯🌎🌿🙌🙌🏽

I think some so called Punk Artistes were/are vastly underated. This being a good example. Brilliant track Well written, Constructed and Performed in a hugely entertaining manner I think these were far more than just a Punk band All larger than life Characters and First Class stars/performers in their own right. Their infectious personalities easily projected to their audiences by the obvious enjoyment in what they were doing. Modern day Artistes are unable to convey this. A different era !!

Bought the single in '79 - great record. Reminds of going to my first football matches then with the terrace style chanting in the chorus. The B-side was TV Stars with the immortal Albert Tatlock lyrics as beloved by John Peel.

Bought the single back in '79. Great record - reminds me of going to my first football matches with the terrace style chanting in the chorus. The B-side was 'TV Stars' which John Peel used to play with the classic Albert Tatlock lyrics.

When i hear this i think about three soldiers from the Royal Highland Fusiliers. Each one shot in the back of the head as they relieved themselves after a night out while off duty by IRA cowards in March 1971. Two were brothers aged 17 and 18 and the other was 21. We will remember them.

Well, the tenner was for whoever could 'interpret' the lyrics, not relate them word-for-word. Anyhow, I do have my own 'interpretation' of the other two verses as well if interested. So it is still a tenner to me for the first 'interpretation'. Thanks.
