because this documentary covers mostly the best of the best. many other talking heads here weren't the ultimate in every tournament but if you look their names and placing you'll see they were very good too, and thus made their contributions to the game. chillin was important for the early days of melee and fox

I was honestly super confused about what happened with EVO 2007 - seemed like that was getting set up for a showdown with Ken coming back, and then this episode is about Mang0 and HBox's rivalry, which.....is not remotely compelling as a story.

Agreed but this was an episode dedicated to Mango. The next documentary "Metagame" will hopefully fullfil our wishes with Armada, PPMD and hopefully other greats like Axe, Leffen, Hax, Wobbles and more. I hope Metagame comes out like NOW. lol

Neither was armada, because this documentary sort of glosses over the era of the five gods(dark ages), and that’s when those two rose to prominence

Armada tho

While this episode is titled "The Natural," it really is a lot about Hungrybox, who wonderfully captured the Melee community from his perspective at least. There is a lot more commentary by him than Mang0, and the episode really examines their relationship. I thought it comprehensively was a great episode for both of them.

If they make an episode for him in the new documentary, Metagame. I would not be surprised cause he deserves one

It's about having your freedom of speech impeded upon. It doesn't matter much what word you use when you're just cursing, really.

Besides, if people have nothing better to do than call out people who use a word based off its connotation rather than its denotation, then I can't help but feel like the overall waste of time they create is even more "idiotic" than the fact that people have taken to using a word differently than its literal definition. If somehow the minority of people that get offended at this do, in fact, make a difference, what purpose would it even serve? The only one I see is keeping people like you from freaking out over something minor. Perhaps you would even put the put passion you hold towards people improperly using the word rape into something a majority should actually care about.

Amazing as this might be, some words have grown to have multiple meanings. The word "literally" is constantly used in a different way than intended, that doesn't change the fact that it's now generally accepted to say it to stress point. Also, I DO know someone who was raped, by his own mother in fact, but guess what, he doesn't burst into tears when he hears a word. Anyone who does is probably dealing with it in an unhealthy way in the first place. I think he kind of used the other episode to show case mango a little, but that could have been a little too much & considering he doesn't even have hbox in the opener when this is definitely a episode not about mango but much more about mango AND hbox, it feels weird he didn't show him and made it seem this would be about mango. This episode more so felt about a rivalry that was and is still occuring than about the history of the smash community and its greatest players as the others are.

Hbox talked about Mango all the time. What else do you want if other people can say more insightful things about other you than yourselve. If anything, you can tell Hbox admires Mango's way to play.

This is actually my least favorite episode. It jumps from Mango, to Hungrybox, Mango, a pretty random tangent on offensive words, then back to Hungrybox... etc. It felt kind of random and like they were trying to push too much stuff into it. Even with the part on Darkrain. It just kind of pops into the video and then disappears. Definitely needed more work on it.

Well considering Mango is kinda the 3rd coming of Ken and had Episode 7, 8, and 9 in some form or another dedicated to giving his Smash career extra weight, I think he got a good amount of attention.

Mango is the best current player. There is more footage of him, and more people watching this will connect with it because this documentary was made in the Mango era. If this had been compiled in 2009, you would be complaining that M2K's episode was too long.

Keenan Ris That's significantly more specific, and I feel like there would probably be less extraneous information here if an Armada episode had been planned from the get-go, because this could have spilled over into that.
