Recorded in 2006 at the Casino-Rama outside of Toronto, this live show features classic bits and songs (complete with comedic interruptions) as only the Smothers Brothers are able to perform. The show is a solid reflection of the duo's later years, and helps solidify their longevity and climb to becoming comedy royalty.
The Smothers Brothers
The Smothers Brothers, Tom and Dick, are one of the most iconic comedy duos in the history of television. Tom and Dick began performing as a duo in the late 1950s, playing in coffeehouses and clubs in San Francisco. Their act consisted of music, comedy, and witty banter, which quickly gained them a following.
The Smothers Brothers became a household name in the late 1960s with their variety show, The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour. The show was groundbreaking in its approach to comedy, pushing the boundaries with political satire and social commentary. The show also featured up-and-coming musical acts, including The Doors and The Who, and introduced the world to comedians like Steve Martin and George Carlin.

When I was younger it was mostly about the humor of the Smother Brothers and the political humor and stance on politics and being of age in the Vietnam Draft (1972) but how much more now that I appreciate their beautiful harmonious voices, it would be nice to see some shows with just the musical numbers, Thanks for this show, nice to have a new/old show from the Smothers Brothers.

Older clips are priceless. You are wonderful to share this with us. I've watched so many clips, I feel young again. We learned a lot from what happened to their show. We adored the content on the show, learned about writers late in life. 🎉🎉 you are the best, as were Tommy and Dicky.❤❤

Those clips brought me back to 7th grade when I was becoming aware of the political scene and the war in Nam. Because of people like the Smother's Bros and their guests, I had a lot of hope for the future. I just hope my grandchildren will still have a reason to hope. And I'm sorry our dreams were so badly crushed. We should have communicated better and worked harder. But, we still have the videos of the brothers and they brought us much joy.

As a lover of the Smothers Brothers (I would just starting college when they were on the air, so I didn't get to see too many of their programs), what you have shared in your comments above are beautiful and hopeful tributes to what we can look forward to as we continue moving forward in our respective lives. And now that he has left us, he will no longer have to endure those "encumbrances" that can impede the Artistic Opportunities that can come our way in the human world. For now he will have that Beautiful Kind of Freedom to express himself in ways that will continue to surprise and delight "his Audiences."

I go all the way back to the Angel show, 3rd Grade. Had all the albums. So I am surprised at having LOL tears during the newer bits, I thought they were stuck in the classic stuff. They are Sensational here !

I was a teenager when the Smothers Brothers first aired. It was my favorite show and it was what got me interested in politics. I was devastated when it was cancelled.

Saw the brothers Smothers at Niagara Fallsview around the same time I'd read the "Smothered" book. It made their performance that much more special for me. Not only were they hilarious, clips of Pat Paulsen and Bob Einstein had me rolling. R.I.P. Tommy, Pat, and Bob Love to Dickie and Smothers families!

Can you post a full show from their last tour a few years ago?They only did 7 shows on that tour and they didn't play their instruments but their humor was very topical and funny .One of the very best comedy teams ever !

Just need to let everyone know so they don't get the wrong impression about what kind of establishment this is. 📸📵🤣 I was led to believe MY truth, that there would be photographic equipment available at the gift shop. I agree with you! I'm still humming that song as I wash the dishes and then move about my home doing little "catch ups." I even sing "fake Spanish words" to the melody just to give the song a bit more substance, just like Tommy did.
