Just wanted to say Happy New Year!
... and give a little recap of 2023 and show off my latest toy and GR3 companion - the RX10iv.
I bought three used and one new camera in 2023. I got hooked on massive zoom lenses! Only two of those four cameras made it to 2024... and they were both Sonys!

I just ordered the RX10IV, it arrives tomorrow. I originally intended to buy used, but to find one in the condition I wanted it would be about $1200, so I went a head and pulled the trigger on a new one. I figured out that a bridge camera was right for me when I purchased the Fuji X-S1 about 11 years ago, but it's past time to upgrade.

What is considered "low light?"

@@stefanlabuschagne6905 I’d say, when the camera starts ramping up the iso or lowering the shutter speed in any of the automatic modes, or gives you an exposures warning when shooting manual mode.

I bought the Sony RX10 not long ago. The price was right ($400). The first "OG" model. I really like it. The optical quality is impressive for the sensor size; it's quiet, it's versatile.

I have nikon d610 full frame camera with tamron 24-70mm f2.8. Unfortunately so often I have situations when I need a bigger zoom. Now considering to sale my nikon and buy that sony and I would really appreciate it if sony mk4 owners would tell about quality of the picture? And also about camera . Do you still like it ? Many many thx . Kind regards M

I love RX10m4. It has a great lens. The Nikon image quality is probably better, because of the bigger sensor, but you would need find an 18-400mm for it. A 1” sensor will not be great in bad light, but in daylight, it’s fantastic. As the mk V probably never will be produced I bought the mk IV last month. I swapped out my Canon eos m6 mk2 with 6 lenses that was a pain to carry around with. But now I’m happy as a child with a bowl of candy.😊

How'd you get it so cheap?? Everything I found used is 1200

I don’t use eBay. Much cheaper locally. We have a couple of local, national websites that used to be printed newspapers for personal ads for buying and selling anything. In general, prices are about 30-40% less than eBay but you have to be very patient.
